Interesting introduction. I've been able to navigate my way around this software so far. Please Sir, how do you find the relationship between two variables on SPSS where one of the variables is automatically not listed in the options?

Hey Nwoyi, great question, when one variable is automatically not listed in the options, it means the variable is not properly set up for the test for relationship. So for example if the variable is supposed to be a numeric variable but in the variable view it is listed as string, then you will not see that variable in the options when trying to do analysis for numeric variables. I hope this helps?

Thanks a lot! how to enter questionnaire with multiple responses into SPSS for analysis after data collection? e.g if my questionaire has 4 responses and the fifth one is "others" with specification. many of my participants response as other and specify them. how can I do analysis for these responses. assume the variable for these values(responses) is religion.

Great question Alemayehu! When you have a situation like you have described, you need to create 2 variables. The first variable is called religion and it would have options like Islam, Christianity and others. The second variable will be an open text variable for others specify, where you will enter the specified responses for those that selected others in the first question. I hope this helps?

Great question, when using student version of SPSS, it has a limit for the number of cases and variables that you can enter into the data editor. If your data exceeds this limit, then you will not be able to analyze it with the student version, you will need to upgrade to a higher version. I hope this helps?
