By the way...If you're in the UK, and you're thinking of buying a Sage machine (any Sage machine, not only their coffee machines), join my mailing list at coffeeblog.co.uk and then drop me an email to see if I have a current discount code to share. I don't currently get Breville discounts, sorry, but I do sometimes have Sage Appliances UK discount codes to share. Ta Kev
I sold my sage barista pro because I thought I was done with coffee. It took me one week to get a new one, but this time the bambino plus. Gotta say that it is the same machine, and it has all you need. But one problem is that you cannot control the brewing temperature. I think it is too high
We love this machine...we just can't seem to get a shot out of it without having to run 2 cycles. Any ideas? You had the problem there it was flowing too fast - we have the opposite! We have reduced the coffee volume to 16g with barely any tamping...
@@Coffee_Kev It came with a dual wall but I bought a single wall too and still the same problem. I don't have a grinder but I got coffee ground to espresso size from Allpress, Roasting Party and Gails Bakery - all the same issue...
Great video thanks. I have a Delonghi Dedica but can't get decent milk texturing with that, so looking to upgrade to the Bambino plus when they are available again and not so hideously priced (double what they were at the start of the year)!
Hi Diana, I've done some testing with Oat milk I got from Aldi. I've not tried Oatly yet - but it has a very similar protein content so I would think the results would be the same. I couldn't get much in the way of microfoam, probably due to the low protein content, but I'm going to so some more experimenting & if I can improve the results I'll create another video specifically for oat milk. Cheers
@@Coffee_Kev cool I can't wait.😊 When I go to coffee shops and have coffee with oatly it's always so beautiful you almost can't tell the difference between cow's and oatly latte art. So I know achiving the micro foam is possible but hoowww 🤔😁😜😊🙏
I really want a small machine that is capable of latte art so this is perfect. However, I have read reviews that mention the microfoam stops appearing after 3 months of use. Any ideas if this is user error or an issue with these machines?
Hi Alyssa, I'd suspect user error here in most of these cases, not keeping the steam wand properly cleaned - but I cant say for sure, its possible that some machines could face a fault - but Sage/Breville support is usually very good, I'd imagine they'd sort it out if a user did have this issue. Cheers
Hi Karen. When steaming manually you don't need to select temp or texture, you literally just press the steam button an then press it again to stop. For steaming on auto though I found middle temp and middle foam settings to work best. See: ruclips.net/video/P_g_l9wA-Xo/видео.html
Hi Steve, the Bambino has the same new thermojet system used in the Barista Pro and Barista Touch, it heats up quicker & goes from espresso to steam quicker, I'm not sure if the new thermojet itself makes any difference to temp stability though to be honest. Cheers.
I've been learning for 4 years or so and I still find it hard some times, I mess it up regularly, it's harder than it looks to get the milk texture right. To do it auto I found middle temp and middle texture settings worked best together. Make sure the jug is pushed back so it's over the temp sensor 👍
When I hit my steam button, it starts by purging with water. I'm so confused because it purges when I shut it off, too. So, to not get water in my milk, I need to turn the steamer on, let it shoot out water until I see only steam, then turn it off so I can put the jug in, and then turn it back on.
It's a valid question. In the UK the cheaper Bambino isn't available, so that would be the main reason ;-). Why manual - simple, you can get slightly better texture manually, with some practice, than you can get on Auto. The Bambino plus is great for use in a household where some users may not be interested in steaming manually to get better texture but some may be, so you can make that decision. There are a few other things to consider, though: The Bambino doesn't come with a water filter. The Bambino doesn't come with a milk jug, which is fine of course if you have a milk jug. The Bambino doesn't come with the Razor tool, which I think is a really cool little thing for ensuring the right clearance between the top of the puck of coffee and the shower screen, and for ensuring a level tamp. The Bambino comes with 1 year warranty, vs the 2 year warranty on the Bambino Plus. The Bambino water tank is 25% smaller than the Bambino plus. Also I think the Bambino comes with an all-plastic tamper vs the metal and plastic tamper that comes with the Bambino plus, but I may be wrong. Cheers Kev
As this machine is designed to steam the milk automatically with the steam want facing down... won’t it damage it steaming with it faced out like that?

I didn’t realize this had a manual setting, most excellent. Thank you!
No worries 😀
These are the best review series for bambino plus! I've been looking for this kind of stuff for months. Keep up the good work!
Thanks 😃👍
Awesome, love the details you mention in your video. Stretching of milk till 35C which takes about 30secs 👌
Cheers Fahad :-)
Oh yeh! Im watching this video on the day it was uploaded!
Smart idea using the thermometer to monitor the milk temperature!
Thanks :-)
Great vid, thanks for sharing Coffee Kev 👍
Thanks Mark :-)
Sage/Breville, should hire you to create Bambino Plus videos to explain all aspects of their espresso machines. Nice job.

Amazing video. Thanks
Thanks for the kind words Evan!

Hi Cari, this seems odd. Are you grinding or buying pre-ground? Using standard or dual wall baskets? Cheers
@@Coffee_Kev It came with a dual wall but I bought a single wall too and still the same problem. I don't have a grinder but I got coffee ground to espresso size from Allpress, Roasting Party and Gails Bakery - all the same issue...
I'd contact Sage, this sounds like a fault to me. www.sageappliances.com/uk/en/support/sage-support.html

Love it, would steaming oatly manually be the same thing? I tried and tried but no microfoam. I guess i just need to keep practising right :)

Hi there thanks for your sharing. May I know if the u turned to 3 lights or 2 lights level for the temperature and foam? Thanks!

How's the thermojet in Bambino compare to thermocoil in Barista Express? Does it have better temperature stability?

hi boss, i found it hard to do it manually? whats the best way to do it automatically i mean the texture milk,,, im beginner :)

Wish I could fit my coffee scale under there.

I still struggle to find the best angle when I manually steam milk. Any top tip? Thanks.

Why manual when there’s auto milk frother and temp? If using manual, why not buy the cheaper breville bambino with no auto frother?

What is the difference between sage and breville Bambino plus?
Same thing just that the machines are sold as sage in the UK and breville elsewhere
What David Major said :-). Breville is known as Sage in Eu countries, due to the brand having been sold here years ago.
As this machine is designed to steam the milk automatically with the steam want facing down... won’t it damage it steaming with it faced out like that?
You're a beautiful man ❤️
Haha, thank you very much 👍🤣
