    I'm a qualified hairdresser but back at college, we never learnt all these techniques. I love coming to RUclips to see new ways of applying colour. I scroll through and your videos always stand out! Thanks for taking the time to share your work. You're a creative genius! Looks amazing!! 👏 x

    I've been using a few of your techniques lately in the salon and my blonding services have 1) gotten faster and 2) been coming out better!! I've been out of school and in a salon for almost two years and a half now but didn't really work in a busy salon until November of last year and watch your videos has made me become a lot more confident in myself and my work and I love the price break down because I find myself, when it comes to pricing feeling bad and cheating myself for charging a lot for hours and hours of work to where I did 6 hours of work and only charged $250. So I really do appreciate it seeing it and it being explained! Thank you!

      Oh geez, see! $250 is like the magic number that stylists are afraid to charge over. Charge your worth! I’m glad to hear your more confident in your work!

      Thank you so much for talking about pricing! That is definitely my downfall. I always feel so guilty to charge more. Even though everything has went up on our end… Everything from foil to hair color.❤️❤️❤️

    I am loving your channel and I just love your style and personality AND I just love your work! I am a fellow seasoned stylist. Soooo, I just felt compelled to support your quest to $100 an hour. In fact, I challenge you to skip all the pricing and join the tribe of a straight hourly rate charge.....PEROID! The last 5+ years of color techniques makes it Nearly IMPOSSIBLE to forecast what will be needed in steps, product and time. Shoot for $115 an hour for all your services. You my dear are WORTH it!

    @hairbyKristiJennings Beautiful color! I found your page looking for ideas for my own hair, and this came out gorgeous. Love how thick and healthy her hair is and the color is so complimentary. I love dimensions and lows / highs. I also have been steering away from being all over blondet tones to putting icier blonde, with warmer mid and deeper browns with VB red mixed in. She did level and 2/3 I think (but the 2 is too dark and looks almost black indoors but you can see that luscious red outside) and when I curl it. I want to do something similar to what we did but I am not sure if I will get that same red if she goes lighter on the brown level. Any thoughts. I think the salon uses L'Oreal colors and another brand. My natural color is more of a or 5 / 6. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the same red without having to go to level 2 /3 with VBR? I know she went deep to keep it from fading since reds are difficult. This summer she did use the same red to touch up the roots and it is not the color I want all over in my low lights, it is too light and not that deep cherry. Thanks L

    Brilliant steps broken down! I LOVE 💕LOVE the breakdown of pricing and the realness! ( back room talk it through to self!). Way to open up the reality and YES GIRL- raise those prices! You’re really worth it! I wish I regulated that during my hairdressing career better- now that I’m semi-retired- looking back ... yep! My body pains are worth it enough!

    I'm so glad you feel the need to break down price! It definitely isn't brought up often enough in the RUclips hair videos so clients that watch these hair tutorials and videos think it's just simply under 200 for this amount of work and effort is crazy! Thanks for the detailed info and video!

  • @EmpowHer23

    You did such a great job! Your client had a lot of hair and also very long hair so that added to the time. In the end I hope the client was happy. Yes, $450 is undercharge. I’d say $600 would’ve been fair. You used a lot more products and it took you extra time because of her long and thick hair. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thr lady I went to still had my hair brassy after 2 sessions. I wouldn't mind the level if it wldve been ashier. Also I wanted something more like this and blended instead of the whole bottom blonde. So when i wear my hair up it looks really weird the whole top is dark and whole ponytail is blonde

    I appreciate you talking about pricing and timing. The way we do hair 2day is so much more involved than it was 10+ yrs ago. Its hard getting that thru to the front desk at times because they have no clue what some of these services take. Let alone online booking. The receptionist's be like, "I gave you plenty of time (2 1/2 hrs total)." Meanwhile they have more hair than 10 ppl combined, long and they want it as blond as possible. It's so frustrating.

    Thanks for all the tips. It turned out really pretty and I appreciate your videos. I bought the Wow comb but the handle snapped off the first time I used it. The teeth are much wider than a regular comb, and I feel like it worked pretty good before it snapped (without much tension btw). It broke right where the handle connects to the comb, so now the roller falls straight out and it's useless. I don't know if I just got a dud, but I kinda think its overrated. I didnt achieve a different result than I did with a regular comb.

    So six weeks ago I had gotten an all over dark hair color to even out my tone two weeks after that I was able to get my highlights (balayage). Here it is 4 1/2 weeks later and my hair color has lightened a lot and it’s gotten brassy now that I want the haircolor back without ruining my highlights what is she going to do or how is she going to do that please let me know before I have to go do this so I can understand

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  3 года назад

      If you had a darker put on over highlights then your hair , anyones hair, will always fade brassy. Even with toner, it's not permanent so over time it will still fade brassy. She could go thru and foil some darker or ashier colors thru your hair to cool it down or add more depth but just know that will fade too. I hope I was understanding you correctly!

    • @danielafriedrich4487
      @danielafriedrich4487 3 года назад

      It's normal because you where dark before so the underlying pigment comes always back as the toner washes out. She could do a new toning so that it gets colder or she can lighten up some of the highlights again that it looks more cool. Or do a wet Balayage that it appears lighter and then tone it again. You always have to tone its like make up. It perfects your already light hair that it looks cooler or warmer what ever you want. Hope that helps.

    Yes, talk price and time. Beautiful job!! I have had “go rounds” with receptionist and coworkers in the past, who believe that charging for a toner is being greedy! One receptionist even argued that it’s not their fault they need a toner. Well it certainly isn’t mine. Id be happy to give them a color that didn’t need
    toner. But, it’s not the color they want! Clients need to be educated. Thank you!!!!More time, more product= more money.

    Love it! Would you still do the steps this way if they wanted grey coverage and were needing to use permanent?

    Hello, I was just wondering if you ended up toning with 9pa, 10pa, 10v and a little rose gold? Thats what you had said, but when you said the ratios you said diff toners so I wanted to make sure. Thanks!! 😊

    How do we wash the hair after coloring. I’ve seen several videos and non of them shows cause I don’t want the top hair to bleed in bottom hair when washing.

    I think 2 years before it was no bond builder inside the blond me but now it is so you waste your olaplex and could use instead only the number 2 from Fibreplex. And it could cause more warmth.

      I still use it and feel like it's double protection. When I haven't used it, I wish I did.

      @@hairbykristijennings6648 ok and do you never feel like it dilutes it and causes more warmth?

      HI, I have used the Schwarzkopf lighteners with and without bond builder - however I never tried it with Olaplex; I use B3 and have found that adding it slows the process and somewhat reduces the lift when used with Igora Vario Blond super plus, so I would use perhaps more saturation to get equivalent lift; I think it is useful when one is overlapping previously bleached hair, and not as necessary on healthy virgin hair.

    Licensed stylist here. Loved your technique and how her color came out! Absolutely beautiful 😍!!! And thank you for sharing your pricing. I wish I could charge that amount. I live in a city of 6500 for population with 8 salons and 3 barber shops. And surrounded with two cities with numerous salons. My prices are so low.
