I am currently in the process of getting myself a Blue Axolotl. The difference though is that I made multiple ponds that I call the Spawning Pools that function as the breeding area.

I decided by to build a fish farm by raysworks and picked up 2 gold axolotls to breed. I spent 23 real life days, collecting fish and breeding axolotls. Until eventually after 5083 breeds i got it. After that i stood in the rain to reflect on my life choices…

Guys if you wanna find it faster, build your breeding area near a mangrove swamp... This will save you a lot of time, because there the fish are trapped on shallow waters and it is much more easier catching them than hunting them on the ocean... Also in shallow waters there are no drowned zombies to waste your time.. if you turn your head around, fish will constantly spawn near you!

I've been doing it in the warm ocean and releasing the excess axolotls into the ocean. I didn't know this, but they team up and kill zombies. With my small army of axolotls in the water around my breeding pen, I haven't had to worry about zombies at all 🤣
@@adiarainfoster be careful because axolotls also attack fish and tropical fish
Yes I noticed that, but it just makes the fish spawn faster. it hasn't slowed me down at all. There seems to be a cool down between when they hunt one fish to the next, but they go for zombies the moment they appear, so it's working well atm :)

I got lucky and got the blue axolotl SUPER quickly bc I had a natural lake area in the middle of my valley where I settled, and I had a vision of keeping an aquarium with turtles, axolotl and toads.
I got 1 cyan and 1 leusistic axolotl from my closest lush cave, brought them to their new home and started breeding them. Got the rare blue boi on my 7th breeding. I don't know what the statistical chances of that is. But I immediately named him and made him his own section of lake. 😂

Pro tip: use fully activated conduits. They for some reason seem to make tropical fish more docile and less likely to run away.

another thing, blue axolotl exist, there are 5 types of colors Golden, Leucistic, Albino, Pardo and Axantic, axantic is the rarest color and is kind of blue, the coloration is the result of the lack of some pigments but they are rare bc they rarely survive bc they get sick more often. the especific pigment that they don't have, have some sort of relation to the imunologic sistem of the axolotl. babies axolotls who are not reproduce on intense captivity (in mexico we reproduce them in ponds) die young. i have one axolotl my self, a pardo one an abystoma mexicanium.
and sadly the real axolotl you show is in very poor conditions, a healthy axolotl have long and abundant gills, that poor baby doesn't probably bc of bad water conditions :(

Yeah thats why in the second world i got the blue axolotl in I saved all the babies in buckets and didnt kill any but that requires and iron farm! just keep at it though and youll get your blue buddy!

It doesnt need to be continuous. I took many breaks on my second time around.
I build a lushwater cave like habitat for them to stay in, but they go away all the time. I got water around. Its even 2 blocks deep. Do they not search water on their own and just die out on land? I also picked them up with a bucket to keep them from despawning.
Yeah you gotta fence it or wall it off so they don't escape and die.
I suggest not having any land for them at all and keeping them only in water because they can get stuck and die on land
Land blocks need to be adjacent to 2 deep water block. Otherwise they are stood and die.

So far in my world, I've bred around 1000 axolotls and haven't gotten the blue one yet :') I play on Java and I made an easy tropical fish farm, letting me breed them quickly than trying to pick them up from the ocean but yet no blue one unfortunately.(the lag is so bad from the thousand axolotls, my TPS is literally down to 2 sometimes ;-;)

I have a question. With the seed mapper, how do you find lush caves because the caves near me dont tell me what type they are besides small, medium and large.
Theres a drop down called "Biome Height" under the map to the right select underground there and it should show up as an orange blot.

I've been trying and trying but my luck is awful.
I dont know of any counter , I just kept all the babies and counted them up at the end.

if you breed 2 of the same color, it is really rare it is not the same color, found that out on a video where someone collects 10,000 of the blue axolotl

i live in cherry biom on a server (i don't like playing alone) and any bioms that tropical fishes spawn are far away from me 😭 but i'm going on a trip to warm ocean, cuz i want sniffer egg + mushroom biom is near so like 3 in one trip (mooshrooms, sniffer and tropical fishes to breed my axolotls)
You're probably going to want to make a base(even a temporary one) near the tropical fish to breed axolotls because for my blue axolotl it took over 2,000 tropical fish! Good Luck!

Any tips on getting tropical fish in buckets?
I found out in lush cave biomes, you find a couple of waterfalls or make your own. Just put one bucket of water down and let it drop 20 blocks down or so. Then build a 7x7 or 9x9 pool at the bottom because the fish will fall down into the pool. Because the game for some reason thinks that more fish can now spawn in the waterfall, you can get about 2 shulkers of fish in less then 10 minutes of waiting.

Late comment, are you able to get blue axolotls by breeding two of the same color?
Yes you can get the blue axololt by breeding any combination of axolotls together! So gold and gold or gold and brown etc
and you can put them in a bucket for it to be easy transport if you find one
and bring 100 of them with you a ocean monument for a battle!
Does it need parents of two different colors in order to produce a blue offspring or can it be two golden Axolotls?
You can use two golds! Thats what I did for the first couple hundred breeds but I have a theory its a better chance if you use two different colors but its probably more of a superstion thats why i didnt mention it in the video.
Actually the healing effect also works in bedrock you just need to help the axolotls fight something

I know you can get the blue axolotl on java and all versions of bedrock but im not sure about a paper mc server, I bet you could ask the admins of that server and they could tell you!
I’ve found the blue axolotl in the wild before so idk for sure you get it only from breeding them
you could find it in the wild for like a month when 1.17 came out then they changed it , maybe it was during that time

It doesn't matter what colors you use any combination of colors or even two of the same color works to ger the blue axolotl!

Yeah sometimes they can be kinda rare if theres a lot of other mobs spawning in nearby caves. I find some lush caves rare spawn axolotls maybe try a new new one!

Correct! Once you have one blue axolotl its really easy to get more because theres a 50% chance the baby will be blue when you breed the blue with any other color axolotl!

Not really no thats the first thing I looked for too lol, I think shulkercraft made this huge complicated tropical fish farm that worked but if you made that farm in survival it would take longer than just breeding them normally and getting lucky.

i call bs on the blue axolotl spawning 1/1200. it took me over 4000 breeding to get one. i may have killed it in excitement. so i started all over again. this time it took 3300 breeds to get it. so i had to see how many it took on average. so i tried a few more time everytime it took overe 3000. i gave up after 5 times. i bred over 20000 axolotls only to get 5 of them

The green axolotl never got released in survival mode. I dont even think it made it in creative mode either. Green is my favorite color so I wish they did release it though!
