+Disc Are you serious about falling on ass??? Listen to Death Magnetic and make the same comment. He would die to get back to Metallica. He is a good bassist but the only contribution he had is this bassline. Rob had more contribution in just one record. Jason is a monster on stage though. It's hard to take your eyes of him when he goes "die, die, die motherfucking dieee!!! " I wish he was smarter so he hadn't left but now he is water under the bridge now.

Yeah, I like Death Magnetic too, it's amazing. Really have a thing for St. Anger aswell. Too bad the audio quality could have been sooo much better on DM, I've heard amazing remasters tho. It's not Robert's fault, he's amazing.

Yes James is a fantastic down picker but Kirk is lead a lot of the time and he created the down picking spider riff to master of puppets. It’s stupid to say he isn’t a master guitarist, he’s an engineer of thrash metal and rock in general. The story everyone remembers is the ironic injustice in the "... And Justice for all" album, Lars was being a bitch about his drums tone and he said to lower the bass tracks to "barely listenable" so his sound would be better or something like that. With that the album suffered with the lack of bass, Jason's amazing contributions were almost missed by everyone and even after all of that, Lars so called tone didn't appear on the album the way he wanted, so no reason to do that shitty "lower the bass" thing.
And to me the worst part of all is James, the "head" of the group didn't say a word about lowering the bass, it's just like he didn't care... At all...

Was really devistated hearing the news that Jason left the band.
