Newsted is the man. So cool to see him healthy and happy. Got to meet him years ago during the Load tour. He gave each one of us a few minutes. This was before people had to pay for a meet and greet. My buddy got backstage passes for us from his friend who was a radio guy and when he told me he thought of me first when he got the passes because im a die hard Metallica fan for life. It was so cool and Jason was the only one who came out yo see us. There were only about 10 people who were lucky enough to get backstage but I was just so stoked and Newsted was so damn cool to us. We talked about Sepultura and how much Arise kicked fuckin ass. I asked him about the Flosam Song Hammerhead and told him it's one of my favorite songs of any metal band ever and he said thanks man. The other Guys in the band didn't come out to see us but Newsted fuckin did and he wore the Flaming skull Metallica shirt that night so I bought one too 😆. I still have it and don't wear it too much because it's a keepsake from that show but now my daughter found it and loves it so i let her wear it once in a while 👍 so damn cool to see you get my all time favorite bass player in metal on your show. I could listen to Jason tell stories for days man. You got my subscription right now 🤝

To me there are two Metallica eras, Cliff and Jason; Trujillo looks more than a bass session player, the guy is amazing, but Jason's legacy will last forever and I really hope that in a near future we could see Jason doing a world tour once again for the sake of the metal community, we deserve it.

But....only in 2013 they played live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I remember, in the early set that night, James apologies to all the Malaysian fans, because its a late for Metallica to perform in Malaysia. They should come here maybe 20 years ago. Truth be told, Jason is kicking himself to this day about leaving the band. He won't admit it, but he DOES regret his decision. Robert Trujillo is now the longest tenured bass player in the bands history.

I don't think he is - I feel like that's projection from the fans. We all wish he was still in the band, but ultimately it's James and Lars' fault for fumbling that.

“Basically I was trying to create an alternate to Cliff’s anesthesia for my live bass solo. So yea, it’s anesthesia played using my one dimensional picking pattern”

Jason was one hell of a team player, they just never fully accepted him as one of them..
Ahole move on their part but it was what it was..
Its something unpredictable but In the end is right..
I hope you had the time of your life..🤘✌️💪😎

Misery is the most underrated song on the Black album because everyone is featured......one of Kirk's best solos.
The God That Failed is the second best song.
