I didn't watch the match because I have so much respect for Ken Shamrock. I changed the channel. I absolutely hate gimmicks and spots like these are in wrestling shows.
The rest of the show was better. The natch with Joey was the only weak part of it.

Yeah and workrate marks like you are the whole reason wrestling ratings are in the toilet. The companies stupidly listened to you and gave us good wrestling and vanilla midget indy stars that you mark for and look what happened. Wrestling is about gimmicks and character's, nobody wants to be bored by pure wrestling matches. Marks like you want the wrestling but the casual viewer wants the characters and storylines. Basically workrate marks are a cancer on the wrestling industry.

The NWA has a half dozen guys and a few women who are better than anything Impact has. Impact may technically be a going concern, but the rumors of their death are largely confirmed.

Having a network means they have years of content from when they weren't dead and had wrestlers people actually wanted to see. As far as the quality of their weekly show, what are you smoking? There are at least three better weekly shows without even counting Raw and Smackdown. I hate Joey Ryan but Brian Cage, Michael Elgin, Moose, Tessa Blanchard, Taya valkyrie, Sami Callahan, Ace Austin, Eddie Edwards, Havok and the North are good building blocks.
There's people like Brian Cage, Michael Elgin, Rich Swann, Moose, Tessa Blanchard, Su Yung, Jordynne Grace, Taya Valkyrie, Rosemary or Madison Rayne who do have talent. The problem is that in Impact they desperately need people to watch, so they resort to Joey Ryan and Sami Callihan to attract some of the audience of AEW and the Indies. It's not much but it's enough to stay alive.
I like that Impact is still going and that it has a decent TV deal now because it's another place for people to work and get paid decently. However, I'd rather see the people I like working in AEW or in either of WWE's brands.
You rather see Brian Cage buried on Raw? At least in Impact he is being booked well. And Sami knows how to play a good heel.
Or NWA Powerr, or MLW... That these super talented people continue to abide by this fuckin' outlaw promotion is amazing. I was SURE Rosemary would have followed Allie to AEW.
@@tayojones9460 Brian Cage could go to either NWA or AEW, most likely the former because in AEW they are not into big dudes. Su Yung and Rosemary would kill it in AEW. Elgin looks to me like an NWA kinda guy. Tessa would thrive on Raw or Smackdown and Moose would be awesome on NXT. Eddie Edwards is another great talent that AEW could find a spot for. Swann is perfect for AEW. Madison Rayne could go to AEW or NXT and thrive in either. Jordynne Grace would be a good addition to either AEW or NXT and Taya has WWE written all over her face. The matches Tessa and Taya could have with Charlotte, Natalya, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bailey, Shayna Baszler, Ronda Rousey, Asuka...would be freaking amazing.
Why did you put Sami and Ryan on the same level? Sami is a great heel. Ryan is a one trick pony.

He's OK, way better than Joey Ryan but he's playing tough and he overacts a lot, I find his character very unnatural, he tries too hard to appear to be a togh guy but he's small, he's not in good shape and he exaggerates a lot the voice. Brian Cage, Michael Elgin, Killer Cross, Moose...those are the real tough guys. Callihan's role could be played way better by Eddie Edwards.

Exactly. Cornette didn't realize that at least all the dickflip did in kayfabe was piss Shamrock off, get him "in the zone", and cause him to go apeshit with clotheslines and an easy ankle-lock. Even during the grab part, you could argue that Shamrock was too traumatized and disgusted and in shock that he couldn't remove it.
Only the fact that the "flip" part of it happened is the unrealistic part of Shamrock selling it. But other than the flip part, the reactions and rest of the match had a sense of realism

I was excited when the ECW guys came to Impact. I decided to try to get into the promotion so I could see Dreamer, Sabu and Van Dam together again. Then I saw Joey Ryan and thought he must have given the Dick flip up, now that he's on t.v. Well I was wrong and I immediately gave up on Impact.

What about the legless referee performing (or trying to perform) a 450 and 619 during a match between two other wrestlers? Impact played it off like "oh, he's following his dream" which would be fine if the guy was at least a contracted wrestler, though it would still be very carny, but no, this guy is the damn referee! I'd say it would have been just as stupid if the ref had functioning legs, but the fact that Impact played this moment off in that "inspiring dream chasing" way really put it over the top for me.

I can abide a legless referee "chasing his dream." Nice Human Interest aspect to Ring Psychology. Disabled people exist. I am one of them. What I will never understand is the way that this company threw Eric Young under the damn bus by having him participate in an angle with a prosthetically enhanced US Armed Forces Veteran in Sergeant Martinez (regrettably I have forgotten his first name😔). The grotesque idea to make Eric a monster Heel was to have him remove the guy's own leg from him and beat him physically with it(?!). I realize that there have been some bizarre wheelchair angles throughout the years, including of course The E. And Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard once beat the hell out of Dusty Rhodes while he was giving a Promo on crutches on TBS. Put them over as true jerks for the storyline. Zach Gowen. Dustin Thomas. I can abide them. This was disturbing to say the least. And it is almost never mentioned. Makes me root that much more for Eric Young to have a career renaissance in anywhere on Earth besides his two most prominent employers.B.W.

Impact has its high points but it also has its lows. They have some really talented guys and have been putting on really good shows lately but they go and fuck it up with crap like this. Last week it made me want to watch this week. But this week made me say "What the fuck?" I didn't watch for many many years but started watching a few months ago and I've enjoyed it for the most part. But it gets frustrating because they'll have a handful of good shows mixed in with some head-scratchers. It's not consistently good or bad and bounces between.
The Su Yung storyline is my favorite thing in wrestling right now since they've more or less butchered the Fiend.
Right now moose in impact to me is the best heel and if they use him right he can be a big deal in the business just like Killer Kross and Joey Ryan needs to drop the penis gimmick because he has potential.
I love to see Jim review a NJPW event one day. I like to hear his thoughts on the promotion.

i dunno, i been religiously watching Impact since pandemic first began and the past several months have been quite goodmy o pinion. I actually like the smaller, more cult like promotion. less long drawn out shows, and cheaper pay per views.
Ken shamrock is 55 and has his own company to promote. If it means doing a forward roll and taking a drop kick in another victory, then it’s good for him. It’s easy money and he got some buzz for him and impact. It’s not such a big deal and I don’t see anything bad for shamrock

Next week, on Rebellion Part Two, the Impact Wrestling 🤼♀️ World 🌍 Championship will be decided although only Michael Elgin is available,so look for Tessa Blanchard will be screwed out of the title 💩
