You should really check out Weak Fantasy and The Greatest Show on Earth Live in Tampere - home turf, Floor's parents in the audience and a 20-th anniversary "at home" in Finland. Amazing live as always but some extra energy. Thanks for helping me rediscover this amazing band over and over.
Me and my friends have seen the greatest live bands like AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, etc., but we all agree that the best band we have ever seen live is Nigthwish, so that should tell you something about how good they are.
I also love the guitar/synth battle in this one between Emppu and Tuomas so great. The harmonies between Floor and Marko are so awesome...and it’s so great to hear Marko let loose because he knows he can and not overpower Floor. They really complement each other so well and both know how to play off each other’s vocals for a great sound. Do a certain day of the week of just Nightwish songs that way you can do other bands other days.
Your closing comments how each song is better and better is exactly what I experience. I learn so much by reading comments on different reaction channels. Yours just popped up... after a year in limbo. Kudos!!!

Really glad you got to this one so soon! One of my favorites. I love the back and forth between the really heavy and the quieter voice and keyboard, especially near the end. It's a superb opener and one I've had the privilege to see live. Loving your reactions to this amazing group of world-class musicians! I would recommend "Elan" from this same album. It's one of the very very few that I recommend the music video instead of live. It's great live, don't get me wrong, but for me it works a little better in the studio version. About the only song I would say that about with Nightwish.
The thing that will always get me about this specific live performance is the intensity of the crowd. That section in the middle with "key hey" is so aggressive and on point that its part of the song. There have more good heavy stuff (Ghost River, Wacken 2013 would be good, or Weak Fantasy Tampere 2015), but you should maybe check out some of their other "flavours"(reset your expectations of what nightwish is first). I Want my Tears Back Wacken 2013, "My Walden"Tampere 2015, The Islander Tampere 2015 all have a different vibe. For a great instrumental piece check out Last of the Wilds Wacken 2013 for an amazing intro. (PS: we're building you up to be ready for the Epics....)

Doing a great job, best band and singer in the world.. Few more videos then onto 'The Poet and The Pendulum" live from Wembley, (do the one with on screen lyrics) and be sure to do background research before viewing to follow better, it is autobiographical. Then onto 'The Greatest Show on Earth" live from Tampere, (again one with onscreen lyrics) It's about the creation of the solar system and the earth itself, It's the prelude and a great set up for the new album: "Human :ii: Nature. Some younger fans don't care for the new album, but it is a masterpiece, best listened to in sequential order. It's Nightwish evolving, metamorphosing, maturing. Just a genius album.

Strong recommendation: take a trip to the universe of another Finnish metal band. Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars - Live rehearsal @ Sonic Pump Studios This is pure precious metal from Finland! The drummer (Kai Hahto) plays now in Nighwish.
Be careful saying best singer. That is very much subjective. There are an awful lot of people who will strongly disagree. She is the most versatile is the safer and most accurate statement and that is why Tuomas loves her to bits.
Jukka (the former drummer), had to stop because of health reasons (Insomnia, but is getting better) he is still a part of Nightwish but as a manager (if I remember correct).
You will love all of them Kingslayer Gethsemane not viewed a lot but really good songs from Buenos Aries concert but you will find them anyway have fun.
For quality finnish melodia death metal (with a funny backstory), try Belzebubs-cathedrals of mourning.. their keyboard-player reminds bit of Tuomas. And my guess is that it is him. Watch it and you understand why im only guessing. 😉

@@Nathan-ur3fk It turns out that the reason for Poet and the Pendulum being blocked is due to a rapper sampling a part of the first segment of the song, and it is that rapper (or his label) that are blocking it, not Nightwish or Nuclear Blast (Nightwish's label). Recent reactors have gotten it through without the pauses, but having to mute a part of the first segment of the song that contains the part that was sampled.

Some younger fans don't care for the new album, but it is a masterpiece, best listened to in sequential order. It's Nightwish evolving, metamorphosing, maturing. Just a genius album.

Be careful saying best singer. That is very much subjective. There are an awful lot of people who will strongly disagree. She is the most versatile is the safer and most accurate statement and that is why Tuomas loves her to bits.
Jukka (the former drummer), had to stop because of health reasons (Insomnia, but is getting better) he is still a part of Nightwish but as a manager (if I remember correct).
You will love all of them Kingslayer Gethsemane not viewed a lot but really good songs from Buenos Aries concert but you will find them anyway have fun.

You can find more info on the Nightwish reacticide discord. (It's 14 minutes and you need to read up on the backstory to understand the darkness. Short version: Tuomas and the others fired the original singer (a childhood friend) and he felt so bad about it. @@Nathan-ur3fk It turns out that the reason for Poet and the Pendulum being blocked is due to a rapper sampling a part of the first segment of the song, and it is that rapper (or his label) that are blocking it, not Nightwish or Nuclear Blast (Nightwish's label). Recent reactors have gotten it through without the pauses, but having to mute a part of the first segment of the song that contains the part that was sampled.
