Some people think they can just do it after watching a few RUclips videos. Hell I’ve been doing nails for 2 years, yet I still learn everyday new things. My teacher who’s been teaching for 30 years, yet she’s still learning everyday. It takes time and some people won’t get that through their heads.
I can't afford salon manicures very often, and at current costs going to beauty school is entirely out of the question, so I started watching pro videos and practicing. After 150 dedicated hours of practice on my own, I can do decently but still nowhere near the level of nail art a professional can do, and I've never had the reviews and insights that a real teacher can offer from looking at someone's work. The basics are easy to learn but it takes aLOT of work and practice to become a professional.
I know that RUclips videos won't replace schooling. I am a Senior on a fixed income and the closest school is 60 miles away. I am going to get the best education that RUclips has to offer so that I can do a proper job on my nails.
*smiles* yeah exactly! And here is a fun fact, cheap polish from the drugstore and walmart work GREAT!! My entire collection comes from wet n wild, sally hansen, and LA Colors. We might not become pro's, but we can sure have way too much fun wiht it anyway hehehe

I only have 1 year left of high-school and I need to make the decision on furthering my education towards a profession so since I love nails I'm looking to be a nail technician, do u think it's best to be a nail technician or cosmetologist? I'm considering which would have better pay off. I've heard cosmetology focusses more on hair, is that true?
I love it. I recommend going to a smaller school with less students. We have 20 students in the whole school that's including cosmetology nails and Esthetics and I love it because we get so much one-on-one and for which you want to do it depends on if you're passionate about hair as well because it hair is included and is being main thing in cosmetology and the great thing about going to cosmetology is that if you do want to break from doing nails you could switch it up and do facials or switch it up and do makeup or switch it up and do hair but in school you do mainly focus on hair but it gives you a wider variety on what you can do and you don't get bored with just doing one thing
Don’t become a nail tech. Become a nail teacher that where the money is. It’s only a couple of more hour just so you can teach. I make 500 an hour. Just teaching.
this is very discouraging. nail techs make HELLA money. especially if you live some where it’s very common for girls to spend 100+ on their nails! like (LA, NYC, MIAMI, TX, ETC)

Wow I can pass this info on to many people that would like to get into this type of career! Well I’m retired now so I won’t be working on any type of clients just doing my own nails in my own time at home!😁 Thank you for posting this video!

Egho Ojeaga no I’m still tryna get my skill up as you know for high tech nail stuff it’s expensive so I’m planing on getting a job or a way to make money soon to be able to buy my on supplies but I think you could do it for your friends and stuff on the low 😂😂

You will need to practice on clients for free, then as you progress take photos and print out your personal business cards to give to the clients you practice on. Advertise in apps, like Letgo or 5miles, Facbook, etc...

Hi my name is shere but my friends call me Nicole in am turning 13 soon and decided from a vary young age I want to learn nail art I mean young like four I have just ordered my second acrylic set and I was wondering what I have been doing wrong because i always have bubbles under the glue witch makes my nails fall sooner and my acrylic always forms bubbles when applying am I adding to much monomer because even if I am filing the bubbles it out because my nails to go flat and bend easily
That is impossible you need 3 to 6 months or longer training in nails and it's not true they dont teach you acrylic they teach basic to polish and all gels they teach acrylic on your second level and even more on your 3rd level

@gennycruz the first five weeks maybe the written part or you may start out with practical. All the teachers are very fun. The 12 week is very intense but shes very down to down to earth. I took my state pratical board last week and next week i take the written exam. You made the right choice with cristian valmy. But one thing I do perfer u to take the evening with ms Betsy.

In Texas we have to do at least 600 hours of school to get a license.. so it'll take me a while
