Hi, thanks for the video, good review. I have been using one of these tents and I agree the door tie back design could be improved. I bought some small but very strong magnets from Amazon and use two of these to secure the door open. Cheers Marcus
Thanks for the detailed look of the tent! I really needed it to see how to set it up as instructions online were so scant while I really need detailed step by step guidelines!
Great review. For 1.6kg with inner and outer that pitch together and appears to be alot of vestibule room and good inner height then a very good tent for rrp £170....and the outer door issue has been solved by innovative campers (as we are)....looks like I will be buying as my starter solo trekking tent Blackthorn 1 is a bit too small and low for my ageing frame. Thanks for your help.
Hi, a good review thank you. As far as the door goes, are there two bits of velcro on the bottom edge. I think you are supposed to join them together before using the toggle, if that makes sense.
You haven’t put the door ,pull back right ,your supposed to put the 2 Velcro stripes together then offer it over to the inner tent ,it should be better then .
Great review, thanks! Bought this tent (zephyros compact 1, not sure if its the same) last week on a whim as the shop didn't have the vango nevis/cairngorm, so nice to see the setup. Can't wait to use that vestibule though!
A pretty good look at this tent. I don't think the absence of pockets is any issue at all. In my experience, it's easy to keep things at hand and, when the wind gets up and get tent flaps, the contents of pockets soon get emptied. An important issue appears to be the floor which doesn't weirdly seem to be a bathtub type and which could result in significant water ingress.
This is a double wall tent so the inner shouldn't move too much in high winds. I like keeping things out of the way inside so I prefer having them. The lack of a bathtub may be an issue, I haven't had this is really bad rain yet, hopefully this winter
@@OutdoorsPatch I had a Helios 2 from Wild Country. It was a copy of the solar 2 competition and it had the same kind of materials as the Zephyros and also a non-bathtub floor. I worried about flooding but didn't have water ingress problems in more than 80 nights of use, but after about three years the fabric was ruined by the sun and it started to tear like paper.
Floor is a little bit to down for me :( and I actually don't like white inners, it makes depressiv. I do like more yellow inner... But thanks for showing us.
I use a washing peg for door. Roll inside door inwards and cover with something I use and old piece of PVC.

That's a good idea, I might have to look into that if it becomes an issue. Cheers Patch
Magnets is a great idea for that problem. And it doesn't risk damage that could compromise the flysheet's waterproofing.
One small strip of fabric with two small magnets should be enough to roll up the door and then use the magnetic contraption to secure it

Glad I could help. Hope it works well for you :)

After plenty of use now, I can thoroughly recommend. Hope you enjoy it
Good review. I like the stuff bag idea. You can roll the door up in the normal way and then put a couple of clothes pegs on it. Problem solved.
Thanks. Aye, that is definitely one solution.

@@OutdoorsPatch yep thats what i do

The buckle at the bottom of the outside door connects to a buckle at the top left of the inner tent to hold it up
Spot on

Quite cheap on Amazon 139. December time.
Hey mate. Thanks for the review. Do you think a 190cm tall person would fit inside?
Hi, I’m 186cm and fit well enough. I’m sure 190cm would fit, you’d have to put more effort to protect your bag/quilt from condensation though
@@OutdoorsPatch Thank you!
Great review! How you getting on with it mate? Thinking of getting one myself
Thanks! Had it out for a few weekends, in some serious rain too. No issues so far. Easy to set up, compact and good quality 👌🏻
