It’s a nice quilt. I have the same one you have. The gap in the foot box drawstring is easily plugged with a spare 🧦. I’m gonna buy another one as a spare for letting mates borrow.
this looks to be the one they sell for USD 60 at their website, i bought the "Semi Standard 32F Multi" and im very happy with it but its almost too warm for summer use so im considering this one aswell
I just ordered the long version because it suggested that for 6' people on the website but obviously that's bs. A bit more insulation I guess. Never used a quilt before, doing it to cut pack weight and try it out. For condensation I might improvise a protective cover
Hi, hope it works out well for you. I often have a damp foot end if it’s been touching the inside of my tent but so a cover for the foot box should work well (will provide extra heat retention too)
@@OutdoorsPatch always an issue I have with sleeping bags regardless, not convinced it's caused by dripping though. Best result I've had before is to prevent any dew point on the fabric by chucking some clothing over the bag. Think I'll try bunging the feet into the rucksack liner, can't imagine shins pumping out tons of water through the night lol
Great review thanks. The only thing that puts me off this quilt is condensation. Have you had any issues with it getting wet when camping on nights with no wind etc? Down obviously loses all of its insulation ability when wet and I don't think any of it is proofed.
There’s nothing to suggest this down has any proofing and I highly doubt it does. But if you’re careful, you should be able to avoid it. I have woken up with a slightly damp foot box before but nothing major. Use a well ventilated tent (double walled preferably) and keep the door open when you can
For pad straps i am going to buy another company’s like hammock gear. You get 3 for $3 is a much better deal and you don’t need to wait a month later to get it.
Thank you for this review, always looking for decent budget gear to loan to friends, its easier to get company on a trip when you have spare gear for a companion. If I could make a recommendation is include imperial measurements as well would be helpful for those of us across the pond. :)
Nice video mate. You say you’ve been warm in winter in this, what temps roughly? I’m looking at getting one of these, sick of sleeping bags😂 cheers mate Ash 🏕
Thank you for the great review. Do you think this quilt would be comparable to the U.S. comfort rankings in many cottage industry and larger bag companies of a 30° quilt, like that of EE or hammock gear?
Temp ratings should always be taken with a pinch of salt. There are so many variables that can affect it. But I’ve found that this quilt definitely lived up to its temp rating. Unfortunately I can’t compare directly to a cottage company quilt as I don’t own one (I’d love a UGQ Bandit). But I can say that I’m happy with this quilt for the price :)
Great review, I have the Sea to Summit Ember III quilt, which is awesome ( er expensive too!) but sometimes a little too warm, this looks very similar and I wouldn’t be bothered if it was even only half as warm. Think I’ll pick one up.
Thanks for posting this. What's your impression on the claimed temperature range for this quilt? The seller claims "Comfort Temperature:5°C-15°C/41°F-59°F". Do you think this would be too warm for overnight summertime temperatures around 18C?
The beauty of a quilt over a sleeping bag is the versatile temp regulation. On warm nights, you can just use it like a duvet. Depends on whether you're a cold sleeper or not but I'd be happy using it on warmer nights because of the versatility. Patch
Yes I did, my weight came out at 615g I believe (I think I mentioned in the video). I weighed it myself because there’s often discrepancy compared to the companies measurements:)
The huge downside is, that this is down from china. I had a conversation with the seller on Ali Express about that. The animals are kept in cruel conditions and definitely plugged alive. Good that you mention it at the end. Would have been even better, if you have had decided against this method, but at least you talk about it.
Just fyi, most of the “down” products from aliexpress are not actually filled with down. Its the smaller feathers and i’ve even seen chopped larger feathers. Long story how i know, but i’ve seen many examples. i’ll bet if you open a small portion to check you’ll find nearly %100 feathers.
Yeah you’d have to look at UGQ. I have a sea to summit quilt which was very expensive & even that is made in China unfortunately ( although great quality being a sea to summit product)
Hello! I haven’t noticed anything myself. Not saying there wasn’t one when I first got it but I can’t notice anything now. And I’ve compared against other down equipment I have
@@OutdoorsPatch you have the same buyer protection like on Amazon, too! And you get low quality products on Amazon, too! They have great products on aliexpress and me and many, many others buy there! I have the same quilt, I use mine for hammock underquilt and it's fantastic.
Great review buddy, got to get one myself after seeing your video.i will be showing this off on my own channel ohh yeeaahh! Happy days
I have a similar quilt for spring / autumn camping, it works well and only weights 510g with 280g goose down
Which one is it you have?
@@StevenSugref also iceflame, different fill

Edit! Just seen the -4 bit! Cheers mate
I’ve had this down to -8C with thermarest neoair xlite and set of thermals. Was easily warm enough 🙂
@@OutdoorsPatch nice mate, cheers! Thanks for the reply 👍🏼
No dramas, yeah would probably take it down to -10 but obviously need a decent pad

How do you think this quilt would hold up in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather?
If you’re a warm sleeper and have a decent R value sleeping pad, you’d probably be okay. Otherwise, I’d go for something thicker
Thanks for the review! When it's fully lofted, what's the height of the quilt?
No worries. Probably about 2 inches for one layer of the quilt. So about 4 inches when used like a bag🙂
Nice review! thanks! Do you think it works good with a thermarest z lite?
Absolutely, you can choose to buy pad straps for it if you need but the quilt will work the same for inflatable and closed foam pads
@@OutdoorsPatch Thanks for your time bro! Have a nice day! From Chile...

Couldn't afford a more expensive one at the time *wears hat that costs more than the quilt* 😂
Cheers, ordering one now
It’s also a really bad hat, do not recommend. Even if I got it half price
Great review. I’ve got one 👍
Hi, how has this quilt fit you in terms of size? I'm around 188cm tall so I'm wondering if it'll fit me. Thanks :)

Is this the IF516 model? :)
That’s the one :)
Brilliant review mate... answered all my questions 👍🏽 getting one ordered👌🏽 cheers
I’ve tried to discover where this would be shipped from ie will it incur import duties to the uk? Anyone know?
I believe it’s shipped from China but not 100%. I can’t remember what the shipping cost but it definitely wasn’t a lot
Thank you! I’ve just ordered one! The tax bumped up the price but still under £100! If I don’t like it you’ll be in trouble!!!!!!😂😂

Did you measure the weight of the quilt on a scale, if so did the weight align with weight claimed by aliexpress?
