T7 has grip in the wet because it stays porous, so there is somewhere for the water to go. Rubber doesn't get put down on it well because of the type of material used in that section. Makes it feel terrible in the dry, but why it doesn't go down too much in grip in the wet. That's why when it gets really wet (sitting water) you want to drive completely off the line where the ground is still porous. Where the rubber is down there is no place for the water to go. I grew up in Louisiana - so most of my racing was in the rain growing up. Tons of fun! Glad you still got out there.
wow, you're super quick at catching slides and countersteering. the car was snapping so aggressively! You're right, a GR Corolla would be amazing for a day like this
It's a great experience to do a track day in the wet. The track and the run-off area play a huge role in this too however. Having tight exits and what not can make it super daunting. Otherwise, an excellent way to learn car control.
I just did my first ever track day two weekends ago. I was at Sonoma and it was raining. My Miata NB had no grip, but I had a great time. I'm excited to go back on a dry day.
I'm surprised they stayed open with those track conditions lol. Definitely looks sketchy with those tires which don't look at all intuitive in those conditions but like plenty of fun as well. That exhaust sounds awesome too.
@@Zygrene haha it me. Glad to see you still at it. I actually just got her running again after dealing with a plethora of mechanical and electrical issues that saw her sitting for like 5 years on and off lol
as a person who spun out yesterday going 7 mph in normal mode by accident in my 22 brz limited I understand term of being scared shittless. I used to own a crosstrek that was modded out. I should of bought another crosstrek tbh I'm used to driving slow cars fast. I plan on trading in the stock pilot sport tires for cross climate 2. That way I'll never slip ever again dry or wet and I'll be happy with my nice traction that I love.
Why you need so many corrections in the slides? I’m driving e36 m3 for the last 5 or 6 years and for sideways it’s need like one wheel move and then you just look at how car do all the job, you even can let steering wheel free
Just was i thought. He is overdriving the car way to much and bad throttle control. Not smooth at all. I dont think he has a feel what the tires are doing.
Yeah, Sonoma eats cars. When wet, it’s hungrier. You should be spooked. Was there this past Sunday. Had the slowest spin ever at t11. I too was shocked at the grip of t7. But the puddles at the end of esses and t10 were not to be messed with. Parade lap day!
I am itching for another track day but need to get the tune cleaned up before doing that i also want to add flex fuel kit to not have to worry about what tune to swap to depending on my mix.
GR Corolla has entered the chat swinging..😅 Btw, if you wanna die try the Mustang GT PP or Mach 1 in these conditions. Speaking from experience. The torque, power, weight and less communication make it a whole different level of sketch.
went from track day to drift day real quick

So awesome to see BRZ track content! Would love to see more like this about the ownership experience of having both a track and daily driver.

Those were some spicy corner exits.

As someone from Sonoma County, its very cool watching your videos close to home. Cheers!
Nice video! I’m the e92 in your rear view at 1:18, and hydroplaning at 4:30! It was a wet one, but great fun 🏁👍
E92 must have been loads of fun in the wet
I was there for autocross! The rain did not let up all day. Tough day for car control for sure.

I was signed up for this day. Had mixed feelings about no-showing, but seeing this I'm glad I stayed at home.

Hey it's you! S2K driftboi

Any track day you can drive away from is a good track day. I binned my S2k in turn 7 a few years ago haven't been to the track since....
So true. It's not about PBs, it's about having a car to drive to work the next day lol

Its been so wet in Norcal so far this year, I haven't even thought about going to the track yet LOL
These cars are seriously no joke to handle in the rain with assists off. Looked fun though!

Wooing the ladies with your sick driving skills! When I grow up I wanna be just like you ;)
cool! brz gets you teh ladiez at the trackday
Looks like a blast. Wouldn't mind if my next event was wet.
Agreed. Would be great for honing car control past the limits of grip.
I bought the V730s for my S2K for a track day at Chuckwalla this weekend. Thankfully the weather report is dry. 😃
Love these tires when it's dry. Bang for buck is amazing
Yes! 😍
Sonoma in the wet!!! Did you get track insurance???
I was surprised to see passing on the right in these conditions. Especially on corner entry. Was half expecting guys to get “verstappened”
Lotta mud on the track too during corner entry. I wouldn't get on.
Lol on having v730s in the wet. Great car control.
How you liking that STI shift knob?
Love it. It has significantly more weight than the stock shift knob.
I am itching for another track day but need to get the tune cleaned up before doing that i also want to add flex fuel kit to not have to worry about what tune to swap to depending on my mix.
You need to work on your sliding around. You shouldn't be doing so much with the steering, instead, work on throttle control.
I have a 2nd gen brz. I'm looking at the champiro for my track tire. I don't care about times just learning the car. Were they really trash?

Great conditions for an STI/WRX 🤣 or a GR corolla…
Classy move not putting the girl in the thumbnail for clickbait purposes
Whos the girl wheres the s2k girl my fave
ah man i just cant get past that crappy electronic fake engine sound.
KEEP PUSHING!
