I’m confused about the music on shorts though. I have so many copyright claims on the music. If I add the same exact song thru RUclips, will it have the same claim?
Creators of long format videos on RUclips will only see a small fraction of views if they use shorts. Shorts may be popular but they still are no competition to long formats unless you are a creator that does only shorts.

The RUclips shorts has major flaws in the way it gets people to create shorts. You have some people getting 3 - 6 million views and the reality is, some of those videos, really aren't that good. I mean if RUclips is loading these creators up with all the views, one video for them takes someone else 40-60 videos. Just being real. With the new piece of the pie format, a select group of people RUclips algorithms choose, are going to rake it in. The other 94% of people are going to get trickled some loose change for all the leg work. Everyone is excited about the shorts opportunity but really it's the smaller channels, that are creating a ton of shorts to keep it afloat while the money pours into a small select few. I wish in YT Studio, the shorts data was different. It will show Shorts as jy most viewed items, but they are not contributing to my goal. Id like the separate. I am so close to monetizing now!
RUclips and tiktok moving in different directions. Tt want creators to start making long form videos and yt is pushing short form. The advantage goes to yt because they're paying extremely well for long form and unlike tt theyre paying for short form. Tt monetization program is a joke, the best thing about tt is the editing tools and its easier to go viral, but yt and ig has already caught up with them. Tt has to reward creators better in order to compete in the future because even the long forms are like $1 per 1k views compared to yt paying $5-$30 per 1k views
I'm using firefox to watch shorts on my pixel phone, because of the navigation "buttons" on top of the videos. If I would be on tiktok age, I would keep using tiktok app.
4,000 hours is about $300, so that means 10 million shorts views could equal that. You’re gonna have to pull 100 million + to make a living on shorts 😅

People should use their time better. That's a literal waste of time, .... inefficiency.
I had 168 Million views with shorts in March. Definitely isn't a living wage... wasn't even $3k
The point is that shorts help you get a lot of subscribers, you can expect to get 5-10k subscribers for each short that made over 1 million views

Nah, shorts are great for grasping a wider audience and growing the channel quicker. It’s a huge success in my books, for my clients channels anyway.
