Judd Apatow (Superbad, Knocked Up) joins us this week with endless stories of his experience making comedy magic from being roommates with Adam Sandler and seeing his brilliance before the rest of the world to his directorial/ production experience alongside comedic icons making films with cemented reputations in comedy.
Judd talks about the reasoning for having so many projects going at once because of times in the past with some falling through, like Freak and Geeks, or even some taking years and years to get greenlit, like Superbad and Pineapple Express.
This description could literally be 1,000 words with how much notable stuff Judd talks about this week… enjoy folks.

This episode needs to trend. Amazing insight from Judd and Rosenberg is a great interviewer.
This man has directed, produced and written some of my all time favorite comedies!
I've liked Michael since Smallville. When I discovered his podcast I was instantly drawn in and have watched almost every one since. Learning about his anxiety, his family situation, and growing up in Indiana I immediately felt a kinship with him as I am from Indiana and experienced those things growing up as well with an abusive alcohol father, Ive been a professional musician for 25 yrs, etc. This interview, as every other one I've watched was excellent.
Having said all of that, let me tell you what just made me have the utmost admiration, love and respect for this guy. When he KNEW how important it was for Ryan to get a pic, he created a situation that benefitted someone he appreciates. The story at the very end of this pod just blew me away dude. Growing up in Indiana was fucked up and filled with dysfunction for both of us, but we turned out to be one of the good ones dude. Proud of ya!
Judd Apatow has to be one your top 10 guests you have had Michael! Wow. Dynamic, smart, funny and down-to-earth. Judd spoke of personal experiences and how much fun and talent he has and has worked with. Personal experiences are always the best! Bravo Michael and thank you Judd!
Hello
Don’t really know much about Judd Apatow. I’m looking forward to knowing him through your interview. Your interviews are always the best and raw. So grateful for this amazing podcast 💙 Thank you Michael ❤️ Hope you have an amazing week!! ❤️ Happy Tuesday Michael 💙
This was a great one. Not as heavy as some but so light hearted and fun.
Wow! What an endearing and candid interview so far. Been a HUGE Judd fan for years( since Freaks and Geeks). He is such a kind man💙. Thank you for getting him on Rosey and for all of your hard work 🙏🏻. Hope you have a week as amazing as you are and safest travels to you 😊❤️
Rosey, I could have listened to you two all day. The stories, the giggles, Thank You!
That memory of Rev Jim from Taxi is one of the best moments from the entire series.
Michael is the best interviewer man. His intrigue about all of his guests is so genuine; I love it
Great one!!! Love that he jumped at the chance to sit, love that it was in person. Shows you what a great guy he is. Keep it up Rosy; you are killing it! The Chief
I am so enjoying listening to this episode so far. I am learning so much about Judd. His new documentary sounds awesome.
This was such a great episode! Judd definitely opens up and he has so many great stories. His movies are comedy gold. Inside of you Tuesday is the best day of the week.
I sure do love my INSIDE OF YOU Tuesdays:) I've always loved Judd Apatow's work. He changed the way I looked at comedy.
Yes that’s true
I will love to know you
Leget a legend was such a great watch and great to hear the stories of him as a dishwasher watching some great comedians as a kid made him the man who he is today!
Your performances of Lex and Flash are very dear to my heart and so are Judd's movies so this is one of my favorite talks ever. You really know how to make it feel like we're just chatting with our buds. Fuck yeah, Rosenbaum.
Another great episode. Can’t wait for the next one. Thanks, Michael!
The 40-year-old virgin is one of my favorite comedies of all time and I rewatch it every year
Great interview! Looking forward to “This is 50”
Judd Apatow is the best!!
Loved this interview! I love Judd’s films and Michael asked the best questions. Bravo! 💜
Compelling interview. Thank you.
Yes!!!! My favorite part of Tuesday 💙 Michael 🤘 Thanks for all you do brother 🎇
Just saw the St. Louis Fan Expo that you were on recently and loved it! All 3 of you are still great! Keep on!
Cant understand that this doesnt have möre views. Amazing interview with a Guy that helped shape comedy the last 20 years . Always a treat and Mr Rosenbaum you are a friggin star for bringing this pod to life
What a great interview this was. Judd Apatow has directed, produced and written some of my favorite and best comedys in the past 30 years!
Wow
Judd, please PLEASE make this is 50. I want to see what happens to “me” next...
My and my daughter went to see “This is 40” at the cinema and Paul Rudd’s character was talking about Arcade Fire and The Pixies, saying how his music was “good” music and then did that dancing when my daughter eventually turned to me whispered, “He’s you”. Staring at the screen, I answered between gritted teeth “I know.”
Never had there been a film character just like me before or since. So I would be very interested to see how the character has evolved. 😊👍
Hi Michael, I have seen Judd speak on a few podcasts recently. However, I felt he both had the best time and I as a listener gained the best insight from your interview. You did an amazing job as always and really delivered an amazing podcast.
Here on time this time! Happy Tuesday Michael 😊
Freaks and Geeks has had such a lasting impact on my life. I think it was so ahead of it's time!
Great show 👌
A great listen as always. Thanks!
That fucking Carlin doc is an in my top 5 of all time now. Absolutely captured the spirit and everything he tried to express. Even the ugly parts. Also, This Is 40 is one of the most underrated comedies of all time. Judd is just the best. Totally with you guys on the memorabilia too! 🤣👏
Another amazing pod brother, really enjoyed that one
Judd Apatow was a fantastic interview!
Fantastic podcast. Michael Rosenbaum is entertaining and fun to watch. Judd's always been a hero of mine. A more accessible and open and friendly couple of guys you could not ask for.
Great episode!
So much serious work that goes into comedy. Interesting interview. I love Inside of You Tuesdays. Rock on Rosey ❤ 🌹 ❤
You guys got Judd, wow! Can't wait to listen 😎👍
Not too long now for the inevitable James Gunn episode 😎
Such a great interview
What a great interview with Judd. For whatever reason I was holding off on watching this one but so happy I did. Just hearing about him growing up and his mom working at the comedy club was amazing.
Judd is on my very short list of show biz people I would like to meet. Funny and a really nice guy.
Great interview Michael!!!
sooo good! thank you!
Fabulous episode and great person ❣ Exciting, sensitive and funny 💘 Thank you so much, Michael 👍 Have a nice Tuesday and week 💙💙
Awesome. And now I know where I'm going to go next time I visit my cousins in Levittown.
Great interview
I have been looking forward to this interview! So good! I wish it could have lasted longer. Would love to see his wife on as well. Would love to hear her life insights as a fellow mother and wife. Oh I hope Judd does “This is 50”!! 🤞🤞🤞
I just love this podcast❤️
Great interview Michael
My wife and I have tickets for the Smallville Nights in Metropolis, IL. Cant wait to see you again, Rosey!
yes
Judd is one of the best comedic directors of the 2000s. Funny People is super underrated. Great interview
You Don’t Mess With The Zohan is my pop’s and my homies’ favorite movie lmao the most quotable movie ever made. It’s really a beautifully made comedy lol shoutsout to Judd and Adam for blessing us with tears of laughter
Wonderful listening experience. ❤
I enjoy all your interviews. Even the ones where I am not familiar with the guest.
I would really like to see the Ashmore brothers together as guests. I have never seen them together and i think it would be cool.
What a total delight to find what a fan he is. No wonder his films tend to be so good and joyful, he takes such deep joy himself.
Keep it up Rosie I have almost watched every episode 🎉🎉
Thanks, Rosey! Thanks, Ryan! Thanks, Judd! 🎙️
Great podcast. Judd is one of my favorites. Was great hearing his stories. I have a feeling they could have swapped stories all day without batting an eye
Fantastic
Love this guy
Love Judd! Great episode!
3:15 Dude. Collecting is awesome. I've been collecting action figures, costumes, props, etc since I was 3 years old, and it is one of the greatest sources of continual, no-strings-attached happiness in my life. Keep rocking that collection!! : D
Awesome
I absolutely love this podcast awesome
What a great guy!!!
Love this interview. If ‘This is 50’ ever gets made, I will surely put my butt in that theatre seat. Also, missed opportunity in Bubble 🫧. A dinosaur named Apatowsaurus (Apatosaurus 🦕 )
Ahhh! it’s the guy that was the main topic in the Roast of James Franco!!
Another movie I think Rosenbaum wudda nailed Vince Vaughn s Role in Swingers
I know they're his movies, but...I don't remember Eminem in "This is 40." I remember him in "Funny People." Am I wrong in my psycho Sandler Obsession???
Em was in Funny People....not this is 40...I thought same thing
I can't believe The Bubble has such poor reviews and so many said it's not funny. People say they want less PC movies, simple movies like we used to have that just entertain. The Bubble IS that type of movie. It was so fun and funny and random. It was one of the few time in the last few years I genuinely had fun with a comedy.
Nice
Seen him in a couple of interviews, round tables and know his work mostly as producer but at least a more personal chitchat is welcome to see what s up :-)
Hello
Am I the only one seeing Michael as a lead in a modern day Larry David show with maybe a little less angst
Original 🌻
Hey Michael, time to ask for that check mark ✅
Judd Apatow is a nice human
Demon streets sounds awesome
I'm confused - i watched The Bubble a couple of months ago on Netflix 🤔
just discovered this show, instant fan... but whats up with the dude writing in the notepad??
His daughter is on euphoria
If Eminem is a Apatow fan could he be part of the Jack Black and Will Ferrell Demon Streets movie? All of that sounds great.
@29;50 Cosby,
@1;17;25 The Rock,
That SuperBad sequel idea is awful. I’m so glad they never did that.
Get bill burr on ur podcast please and thank you
You're RICH.
WHY don't you have better fire protection???
At least get a built-in fireproof safe/pit that you can throw stuff into quickly and will survive.
Or get a fireproof covering for your house that can be pulled over it when needed.
And an outside sprinkler system.
Maybe it’s just me but I think Maude and Iris are a little too mean to their dad
oh my god . im at the point where i just skip the first three mins of groveling for followers
what can you do pal? gotta try and get more listeners. if you have better ideas let me know. rosey
Yeah but I for one miss the more personal intros when Michael talked about his week.
That's how this stuff works...... it's called promoting your show. 🤷♂️
Arts should not ever be woke....ask Chaplin.
Judd Apatow went woke and tip toes his way through comedy. I cannot see Superbad II being possible.
dude I don't like this. this guy sips his drink like a guy that auditioned for snl and didn't get it but still mentions it occasionally. the host.
LOVE this podcast (all the guests, not just Judd) but man, it's NEVER rapid fire. LOL!
This is 50!! Fucking YES!!!
He's not using the word "evolution" right. Yeah, all that fight or flight stuff saved us 20,000 years ago, but if it's "evolution" then wouldn't we have moved beyond that rudimentary behavior? Hello? Is this thing on? Take my wife...please. Oy, time to call BetterHelp.
