I find the sim dubious for a few reasons. Firstly I find that Gronk and Amendola are highly underutilized for them being the players they are. Secondly, I find it incredulous that the Patriots offense would be so careless as to get a false start in that OT situation in the red zone with the game on the line and a TD guarantees a win. And similarly, I also doubt that Brady and Belichick would let the Patriots score a touchdown in only a few plays with just under 2 minutes when a follow up TD by Philly wins them the game (and FG ties it). Its a fun simulation to watch, but it carries a lot of what-ifs and asterisks. We'll see how Super bowl 52 really ends.

The Eagles winning was about the only thing the simulation got right.lol What really happened actually isnt as bad for the Patriots as the scenario the sim runs, though.
WarriorAngel001 I didn't want to sit through a video game version of the game I just watched, so I'm sure the Patriots were lousy in the game, but they did put up a fight on the real thing. I give them that much.
The key part of the sim is that it puts the gane in OT. Eagles get a FG. Then the Pats are in the red zone. They get a false start penalty, blow the drive and are forced to settle for a FG. Eagles march down the field and win with a FG. Brady would be eviscerated if he blew a game-winning opportunity like that in real life. The real life game simply saw the o-line collapse on Brady at the worst possible time. Cant hold that loss against Tom Brady, thats for sure.lol

We just have to face reality man. Everybody knows that the Patriots are gonna win the game. Even Eagles fans have hat feeling deep within them. They win all the time. Its almost guaranteed. Even with the Eagles' terrific defense and offensive skills, the Patriots will always find a way, As a Giants fan, I have realized that the torture of seeing the Patriots win will never end unless Brady and Belichick's careers are over. As much as I want the Eagles to win, there is a very low chance of that happening. On the bright side, Brady's career is almost to an end. Maybe someday the rest of the NFL can dethrone the Patriots just like the Giants did, twice.

Breakdown of the game in my eyes (I'm a Steelers fan irl and I'm rooting for the Eagles in both this and the real game):
SPOILERS (WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE READING)
1st Quarter- Nowhere near real enough, both early scores were highly odd, but balanced out. Game should be 0-0 without those 2 scores, maybe 6-3 NE. Also, no movement or audibles on either side, too much play clock wasted early to not have a timeout called somewhere, and no flags thrown yet.
Philly: No Blount, defense looks lost half the time, but overall a decent sim for them. As good as Brady is, this looked mostly believable for a first quarter for Philly.
NE: Too much running, Dion Lewis was having the quarter of his life which seemed really weird, and no trick plays were tried. Seemed a bit odd for Hogan to be getting more than anyone else and Gronk only connecting once was highly irregular. Don't expect this quarter to be a mirror of reality.
2nd quarter- Honestly, you could have told me this was the second quarter of the actual Superbowl and I probably would have believed you. Pats adjusted exactly as they would. Cooks, Gronk and Amendola finally got involved like you'd expect. Eagles tried relying on Foles a bit too much and realized he wasn't the Foles from Minnesota... at least the first drive of the quarter. Also, a drag route during a zone... typical Patriots. Finally movement, but still a lack of penalties. Letting the boys play? Hope this is real life.
Philly: Oh hey, Blount. Why don't they run you? 43:40 Oh... Back to Ajayi. Dude's having a monster game. Also, Celek? Who's that? Forgot you existed because of how little you've been thrown to. Come on, Foles, lean on your vet more. Dude had some great receptions this quarter. Also, why no urgency on their final possession? They could have scored at least 3 since they had all their timeouts.
NE: Harrison with a sack. Nothing new here on defense, move along. Still no trick plays, so they're going to hold back until the second half. Fair enough. Also, Burkhead being a beast made this quarter for me. Love that guy. Also, Lewis seems to have heard me and said "Look at my stats." Seems he's doing about average for him and last quarter's view was tainted by anger at the Pats' first touchdown being a running play.
Halftime review- Honestly, this game is shaping up great. Some Madden touches ruined my immersion, like the final drive of the 2nd and lack of announcer's NE bias (plus not as much banter, which gives me mixed feelings), but all-in-all, good shit. No penalties (thank God) made this game feel much faster and I loved every second of that. Overall, the score should probably be something like 13-10 NE, though. First quarter went awkwardly.
Philly: Defense looks capable and is doing their job. Offense running about how you'd expect. My advice is to keep handing it to Ajayi and work off some play action attempts on 2nd down, mixing in draws. Both seem like they'd do wonders based on how NE's defense has looked. Foles needs to hit Celek more often, but his performance is amazing (dude went 9/11...psh, he wishes this was real). Blount needs more time to show his worth, so expect more of him when Ajayi starts to falter a little. Would be very surprised to see Ajayi's second half be as good as his first. Also, Philly's O-line has been remarkable. Surprised Foles has been pressured as little as he has. They must keep that up to win.
NE: Brady's doing Brady things, looking effortless as usual. His second quarter felt much stronger than his first. Surprisingly, though, no passing TDs. Running game has been average and not as productive as needed, so expect a move to put the game squarely on Brady's shoulders. Passing will be the second half's main attraction for NE. Don't be surprised to see more counter plays, draws and trick plays (such as the Statue of Liberty and end-around, most likely) should they stick to running as much as they have. Belichick is famous for pulling out all the stops in the Superbowl, especially with close games or when they trail. Defense should look to pressure Foles more and they need to stop Ajayi. If Ajayi is stopped, they have a chance to regather themselves and focus on getting to Foles. Otherwise, expect them to continue getting stomped on by Philly's run game.
3rd quarter- Hello NE announcer bias, how I missed ye. Did I mention how much I love Burkhead? Dude made me so happy this quarter. But 3 rushing TDs, no passing TDs for NE? Um... okay. Also, still no penalties? Did the simulator turn them off or something? Damn.
Philly: If Foles is godly right now, then Ajayi must be godsly, with an "s." I don't know how much more dominant you can be on both ends of the offense. Also, Blount should just sit down and enjoy the ride. -2 yards, yikes.
NE: Shows how much I know. Burkhead and Lewis are having standout performances, so they chose to stick with the normal approach with them. Okay, sure. Brady has thrown the ball less this quarter than I've ever seen before in a Madden or real game. Not sure about that one. Also, Harrison, why didn't the Steelers start you? I understand why you went to NE now, I miss you a lot seeing this performance. Though, to be fair, I missed you anyway. Our D needs you to be playoff contenders, imo.
4th quarter- 1:17:20 Um... where's the intentional grounding call? I honestly saw no receiver nearby, let alone Cooks, like they called it. Must have been a bad angle. This quarter also taught me that the reason there is a NE "bias" is because they have possessions that last forever. I don't know how I've missed that until now, but it explains why the first half wasn't as saturated. Must keep that in mind in the future. 1:36:10 Cooks is down, defenders would drag him to touch the ground, no touchdown on this play. Sort of disappointed in this sort of thing from an otherwise amazing game. Also, they'd have kneeled it to end regulation.
Philly: Foles is doing this well, no surprise to see him tie it. Would have loved to see them try once more for the TD, but I respect the decision.
NE: Only flag of the game on a holding... lol, yeah right. This game shouldn't have been this close, you boys really messed up.
OT- 1:55:05 #30 is wide open, that is a touchdown! Eagles, WHAT ARE YOU DOING???? 2:01:11 You okay, bud? 2 flags for NE, 0 for PHI... speechless. End result is Philly pulling off a stupidly amazing throw to win 37-34.
Philly: Foles and the defense win them the game. No other notes except the kickers for both teams were flawless. Quite surprising.
NE: Brady doesn't pull out a touchdown from his ass in OT? I call BS.
Overall summary: Good game, but the first quarter was definitely the deciding factor for realism. Well, aside from Foles being a better quarterback than Brady somehow, but that seemed a given.
How it will play out today: Should this game be an indication of how Philly plays on defense and running (passing was too insane to take seriously), I see them scoring about 24. NE plays this way, they win 30-24. It all hinges on if Foles plays decently and Philly's D is able to stop Gronk and Amendola like they did here. The fact that Cooks and Hogan had more receptions and yards proves why they lost this sim about as well as Foles being the left hand of God himself, Ajayi. I expect the real score to be closer to 24-17 like Roman Perrin said, just with NE winning. EDIT: Also, lots more penalties and physicality. Like, I'd be surprised if there isn't a fight at some point. And not just among fans in the stands, which was a given.
What to watch-
Philly: Ajayi and Blount will be option A for offense. If Foles is doing well, then look at Celek and Agholor (bit.ly/2E1Jw7g)... um, Celek, to be a standout in receiving. Defense needs Darby to feel better to be on their A game, but even a B game from them may be enough to keep the Eagles close if rushing is as stellar as it has been. Cox and Malcolm Jenkins obviously are the guys I'm watching and I suggest everyone else pay attention to.
NE: Lewis and Burkhead aren't going to be this amazing, but watch their performances nonetheless. I'm excited to see if the run game of both teams dukes it out, because we all know Brady is a better QB than Foles. Harrison, Flowers and Malcolm Butler will be the defensive players to watch as I expect each to have at least 3 tackles apiece.

Pats have shoes here that are different colors...in real life, the NFL would order the players to change to shoes that are all the same color, or order the referees to bench the players. This has happened in games, players come out w/different color kicks, and the refs order them to change.
