I don’t understand the critics. I fell in love with this movie. Alitas CGI is perfect with her big cute eyes. You get attached to her in an emotional way and that to me is a job well done for the movie crew. Please watch, I highly recommend it! We want a part 2!

That makes alita not just a creation of 3d artists but a real human helped by the performance of a talented actor. Also why tf are you calling her a chick

To be honest, I thought it was going to suck ass due to the previews showing the scale of Alitas eyes. The whole original sonic CGI kind of uncanny valley deal, where they just didn't grasp the source material and had no sense of aesthetic stylisation. But you know what? I just saw it yesterday, and I'm real happy to be proven dead wrong. I mean yeah, it can be jarring in some shots, but they managed to somehow make it work. They did a great job overall, so that even in moments were the body-language or facial proportions/expressions are slightly out (the CGI margin of error in every movie with these effects), the plot and choreography is almost always compelling enough that you're never taken out of the story. Between this and the sonic movie decision to rethink their design? I'm actually starting to feel cautiously optimistic about movie adaptions. It must have been great to have seen this in theaters.

Don’t listen to the critics, go and see for yourself. For me it kinda stayed with me, not so much the story but the sheer richness of the environments. The story is pretty faithful to the original anime but with added pizazz!. Fortunately Rodriguez keeps the teen angst to a minimum and so does not intrude the main story too far. Jennifer Connelly is a little underused (ok so I’ve got a bit of a crush since Labyrinth) she glides in and out of scenes like she’s on wheels. Chris Waltz is his usual self and fits the film perfectly. Alita herself is a triumph for the CGI team and Rosa is perfect for the role. Overall a wonderful film and worth the investment of time and mental energy to absorb. Go see it so we get a part 2
I have seen Alita and the only negative comment I have is the lack of a solid ending. The sole purpose of this movie was so that they could make another one and carry on with the story.
I watched with my girlfriend over the weekend and right after we wanted to watch it again!! It’s so good and Alita is such a great character. Plot is so much more in detail than we thought (only learned about the entire plot when we googled after we got home)

Seprately though i thought it was the most Heavy borderline 12A/PG13 ive ever seen... if the blood was red and not blue this would have been 15 minimum... my 11 year old daughter was scared shitless in parts mainly by alitas interactions with Grewishka Spoiler Below!!!!! its seems to me that her goal at the end was to get up in to zalem and confront the true nemesis Nova... but the way she was going to do that was to become overall champion of motorball... Ok they have set show down between them for the next film but im pretty happy how it ended in regards to it being incomplete... EDIT: I Just hope they make a second film!!! Can't wait to see that when it come out!!

I used to love roller skating when I was young. Seeing the motorball scene re-ignites my passion. By the way, they should do a roller derby version of motorball in real life.
If i could meet Rosa in person i would thank her for Alita. She created someone who i belived and, in kind of a way, loved. She gave me something very unique in esthetic and emotional way. Few days ago i've bought DVD version and since that time i watched Alita 6 times and still want more.

The scene when Hugo helping Aly to take off her rollers was probably replaced with the one where they sit near the fountain after Alita beats up Tanji. Or right before the motorball match when Ido is helping Alita to wear the guard pads and a pair of new rollers made especially for her. It looks similair but characters and context is different and better in that special moment. And the second when Aly hits the ground... There is a similair one when Zapan pushed Hugo to the ground and Alita realizes that there is a bounty on Hugo's head and smashes the ground with her fist. There's a lot of similarities with these scenes. Maybe they were slightly changed or moved in the timeline to better fit into the context. That is only my guessing i think only Robert Rodrigues knows for sure what happened with those scenes.

It's amazing to see a behind the scenes that shows how anticlimatic the scenes look from the outside, but with proper editing, audio etc. it's simply amazing.
I'm really confused about the negative comments from the critics??? Did they ever watched the film??? Or did they know about the manga comics where it all began??? Because they kept on commenting about the storyline, plot and script well in fact it was just reflected what was in the comics. So if there's one thing these "critics" should be criticising, they should bark on the comics and the original anime! Actually, the movie has done a great job to enhance what was in the anime. They made this a VERY INSPIRING MOVIE...!!! This movie is for all the fighters in life!!! That despite of your limitations, you can still WIN as long as you FIGHT for it!!! And that is the IMPORTANT MESSAGE this movie offer that "critics" missed or dissed... sad.

Actually the plot in the movie is much worse than the plot in the comic. I even had watched the movie before read the comic. However, this movie is a decent one; I even appreciate its story, plot and visual more than Ready Player One's. Maybe it can to be seemed as a brighter version of Blade Runner 2049. In summary: BR2049: 9/10 Alita: 7,5/10 Ready Player One: 6,5/10 (the visual is great, however the plot and story are a bit of shallow if you have read mangas about sci-fi world.

In my case is the first Anime adaptation that I really enjoyed watching. I fell in love with this version of Alita: I'll be reading again the manga hoping for the part 2.

They are Hardworking with all efforts but it critiqued so bad because Alita eye and so many Reviewer dislike Hugo Alita Romance. Hope this movie can break Box Office record.
I think they need the CGI face so that alita's face wouldn't age like the actress will later on in the sequels haha.. But I'm not a fan of the romance since in the manga it's more of a crush or admiration. More over, alita will have a real lover later. His name is Figure.. It out yourself read the manga *wink2* 😜
Really phenomenal acting by all of the cast, especially Alita, of course. His eyes are just magnifying his emotions, and I just felt in love with her the more I kept watching the movie. Really amazing, catchy story, props to Cameron and the cast! Finding out how was the movie produced just adds more magic to it. Really enjoyable, you might wanna rewatch this again and again.

visually, worth ever penney and effort. Not a cent was wasted, this film was incredible.

This was the BEST movie I have seen so far this year. I'm looking forward to the next one.
It's amazing to see a behind the scenes that shows how anticlimatic the scenes look from the outside, but with proper editing, audio etc. it's simply amazing.

I'm really confused about the negative comments from the critics??? Did they ever watched the film???
Or did they know about the manga comics where it all began??? Because they kept on commenting about the storyline, plot and script well in fact it was just reflected what was in the comics.
So if there's one thing these "critics" should be criticising, they should bark on the comics and the original anime!
Actually, the movie has done a great job to enhance what was in the anime. They made this a VERY INSPIRING MOVIE...!!! This movie is for all the fighters in life!!! That despite of your limitations, you can still WIN as long as you FIGHT for it!!!
And that is the IMPORTANT MESSAGE this movie offer that "critics" missed or dissed... sad.
I agree, that's why I don't care about reviews anymore, first Venom and now Alita, it feels like critics are disconnected from movie community.

Actually the plot in the movie is much worse than the plot in the comic. I even had watched the movie before read the comic.
However, this movie is a decent one; I even appreciate its story, plot and visual more than Ready Player One's. Maybe it can to be seemed as a brighter version of Blade Runner 2049.
In summary:
BR2049: 9/10
Alita: 7,5/10
Ready Player One: 6,5/10 (the visual is great, however the plot and story are a bit of shallow if you have read mangas about sci-fi world.

The perspective that you should have is how they make comics ALIVE and if they are successful in doing so??? Comparing it to the original source doesn't give justice at all.

when I first saw the movie, I was saying "whoa!" "damn!" everytime. Alita is the badass angel you won't mess up with.
In my case is the first Anime adaptation that I really enjoyed watching. I fell in love with this version of Alita: I'll be reading again the manga hoping for the part 2.
they did the right cast, and finally hollywood dont spoils anime...recommended to watch, especially if you kinda dissapointed with ghost in the shell / aeon flux, this female heroine can really kick asses

Zapan really looks like Zapan IRL, holy shit i thought his face was edited.
Great casting overall. Alita, Zapan, Ido, Vector, Hugo, Chiren, Nova (damn, I want to see more of a Nova played by Edward Norton). Liked all of them.

I thought all of the movie scene used CG but some parts of them did not use CG. That is why i am surprised.
They are Hardworking with all efforts but it critiqued so bad because Alita eye and so many Reviewer dislike Hugo Alita Romance.
Hope this movie can break Box Office record.

I think they need the CGI face so that alita's face wouldn't age like the actress will later on in the sequels haha.. But I'm not a fan of the romance since in the manga it's more of a crush or admiration. More over, alita will have a real lover later. His name is Figure.. It out yourself read the manga *wink2* 😜

Really phenomenal acting by all of the cast, especially Alita, of course. His eyes are just magnifying his emotions, and I just felt in love with her the more I kept watching the movie.

Alita is a wonderfull movie and at least one of the best manga adaptions. Very well done! I can´t wait for a second part!
