Agree they need to make another but I think they need to use a different director. There is something missing in Rodriguez's scenes.

Why make another one? The movie was incredible, no doubt about it. The puzzle is why was it a flop in the theaters. Wonder how it does and is doing as a flick now days. Must have a huge cult following. #2 would do much better in the theaters.
@@robohippy It's really not that complicated. It had a very, very, very dumb name. If Raiders of the Lost Ark, was named, "Indy, Super Scholar".... it would have tanked.

Just watched the full film, and all Ihave to say is....there'd better be another one, and soon. The movie was WAAAAYYYYY too much fun.
Was hoping for a second movie it was really good with the special effects it had," great story behind it too," mystery suspense & it seems like the way they do things now days it's got a lot of the special story background in these movies

Anybody like that early 2000's TV show "Dark Angel" staring (at that time, relative nobody actress) Jessica Alba? That show was a Test Run for Battle Angel Alita. Don't Believe?! See for yourself who is credited as shows creator. That's right! James Cameron. Only difference about Dark Angel and Battle Angel Alita was it was genetics, not robotics.The concept of Battle Angel Alita (Gally) spawned in the late 80's. James Cameron picked up the rights for battle Angel Alita in around 93 from original artist Yokita Koshiro. And he's been sitting on those rights for about nearly three decades. Like Dr Dre, Cameron will not release anything before it's time. However, fun fact. All of y'all who are waiting on the next Avatar may have to wait a little longer. Avatar was ANOTHER test run for this movie. Listen I'm not passionate about all manga or anime, I'm just passionate about THIS story. And when you're passionate about something you tend to do your research. Doubt anything you just read? Doors right here at your fingertips. Take a trip down the 🐇 hole yourself.

1:40 One of the most human features of her was before this scene where she makes a shaking gasp out of sheer terror, and it's missing here.
My favorite part was the word “Luminousity” taking up 1/3rd of the screen the whole time.
I watched this movie first and the anime OVA... compared em and my opinion is that this movie adaptation is better than the OVA... d adaptation flushes things out quite a bit more and better than d OVA... things progress naturally
*When i was a kid Alita battleangel is our comics, we squeeze out our imagination to visualize what we read.... lucky for the young mind today to see Alita alive on screen*

I'm hungry, I'll get something to eat...where's the kitchen?! That's why she just seems like everything's fine at first. She doesn't know anything's wrong until she tries to remember.
She's definitely a real girl. She loves chocolate.

it's because besides the big eyes, that's Rosa Salazar face and voice. Just watch other videos of her, the way she talks and laughs in this is her 100% personality.

Short answer: Rosa Salazar.
Long answer: Rosa Salazar did not try to comply to the stereotypical anime girl portrayal: she did not try to be cute, which can be off-putting. She kept her real, and brought Alita from a timid little girl to a self-actualized woman. Notice how the way she walked and moved changed along the way, and you'll see she put on a masterly performance.

Wednesday December 11th 8:08 am New York City. I remember Alita the cartoon years ago I fell in love with her when they made the movie and I heard they going to make a sequel but I don't know when
This movie needs to be revisited and a fitting sequel made for it. Absolute shame, same with "The Golden Compass".
It wasn't really his face... It was the image he had paid for... A mask... Like the woman's, in the alley fight. Her head fell to the ground with her body, her face was still on the wall... Half his face was sliced off, his "communication device" was still intact... The woman in the alley, was both foreshadowing, and an explanation of what happened to him... It's a "dramatic device"...
Im sure it’s already happening somewhere. Someone is converting and editing this movie into mega-gal or something.

Supposedly part 2 will not happen, mostly because of the poor showing in the theaters. Maybe the powers that be should be reminded about Star Trek....
