There’s flir footage on RUclips that actually shows the taliban hiding in the trees shoot the rpg and then run like a mad man down the valley.
None of us found out what happened to the crew.

You say roads... i remember roads in those scenic sweaping valleys inbetween baf and kabul, after that i remember sheer cliffs. And paths would be a better word than road. Lol.
