I met a Army Captain 2002 that was a Russian speaker. He had a ARCENT combat patch. I asked him when and where he got his combat patch. He said he was in Afghanistan interrogating Chechens captured in Afghanistan.
Going off of memory here, but I think I remember reading in Chris Kyle's book where he said they were clearing a room in Iraq in the early days of the war and the people there were Chechens.
chris kyle also said he sniped people off of the super dome and had a secret direct line to president obama, and even lied about personal awards. not really that great of a source.
