Welcome to my channel I unbox guns in short video format. I focus on what manufacturers include in their packaging but also discuss minor details or features of the platform. I hope you'll subscribe. Let me know if there are any particular unboxings you'd like me to do.
Miller Gun Company
It has a non-Reciprocating charging handle. It will not move while gun is cycling. The only metal parts are buffer, springs, barrel, bolt, center pin on the hammer. That’s about it mostly polymer. Great gun, very accurate.
Damn, I just did some further research and you are totally right, it is *non-reciprocating*. Thanks for the correction man! I’m gonna pic your comment at the top so others can see.
Welcome to the Family. Make sure you join the Extar Ep9 Factbook Group. I have had my Extar about 4 months about 1000 Rounds and I have not issues. CONGRATS
I just wish they would have lined the chamber with a metal sleeve for extra strength
Over the pandemic they jacked their price from 419 to 449, but nowadays the give an actual OEM Glock brand mag when they used to give a third party mag. I guess it adds value.
Still a great price
Increase in $30 when most manufacturers and stores went completely crazy...
Finally got mine and I love it! Super sharp. It performs awesome. Great value firearm.
Fantastic affordable firearm. I've had one for a little over a year and have had no issues.
I've replaced the trigger on mine with an AR style trigger. The stock one is polymer with a steel insert. They recommend changing the safety (polymer too) also if you swap triggers. I feel it's much more reliable.
Thanks for the information on the trigger replacement. I had a feeling it was replaceable with AR parts but couldn’t find solid information on it.
When you replace the trigger, do you have to install a stainless steel shim underneath the trigger to protect the polymer lower?
6x trying... Mines on the way from Santa !!!
Already ordered red dot, AR Stoner muzzle device, and back up sights, and 1pt. sling. 33rd. Glock mags !!!
NICE! I hope you enjoy it and can find ammo to actually train with it, they are solid and durable firearms.
My usual has ammo... SG ammo
I started with a Ruger PC Carbine Chassis Model, decided I wanted a AR9 pistol, so I purchased a Foxtrot Mike 8" FM9. Love both, but now I will be adding the Extar to the family.
Finally was able to order one last Friday!! They just verified my FFL and said it will ship in 1-2 weeks. I can’t wait to put in some rounds!!
Nice! Good luck with it!
Got mine a few days ago.....Haven't been to range....yet....Lookin' forward to breaking in this puppy....Glad I built a "small" stock of 9mm a few years ago (have rarely been to the range over past couple of years....that's gonna change)
Just got mine and I was expecting a lot less as far as fit and finish but it’s really not a bad little firearm.
The real issue was actually buying one as it takes some practice. First you have to get on the notifications list when they come back in stock you have anywhere between 20 mins to 1 hour to check the email , go to the website and order it. If you don’t act fast and I mean already having your information ready on the website and a payment in hand , you’ll find yourself scrambling to put all the info into the site including a legit FFL dealer / his information (plus non registered FFL dealers you must contact ) , only to see when you push the purchase button they are sold out.
It happens that quick and it’s burned me twice. I’ve been looking to buy for two years and this last time got lucky.
So how’s the gun?
It’s upper and lower are polymer but quality reinforced polymer. Hand guard is cheap looking , almost 1970’s toy gun like but you can swap it out easy for a 4-6 inch of your choice.
Trigger isn’t bad but I’ve yet to range it. Mags insert securely and affectively but I noticed off the bat the wrist guard is as cheap as the fire end or hand guard is.
Over all for the money it’s worth it. In a PCC or Pistol Cal carbine market that two years ago was very inexpensive, the popularity of these things have driven the prices above acceptable levels, it’s refreshing to see one company not trying to fleece the public as its prices stay as is and solid.
Ruger is a major culprit in gouging as the PCC they are pushing was $579 upon release then the did the big no-no in the industry, they jacked the price up to $699 for the exact same thing. I know because I had one in my cart mind you and when I went to purchase the price (in cart) changed.
I’m a 32 year gun guy. I’ve seen and shot the best and no the cardinal rule is to never betray the customer and never tamper with pricing once it’s set.
I’ve addressed them and they replied with a load of shit stating it’s a supply and demand market.
If anyone in this industry says that they are lying to you. Only bullets fall under that class and there are laws forbidding gouging during a national crisis limiting prices an 8% hike across the board.
Covid is a national crisis and Extar follows the rules but the others simply get away with it. The states AG’s have stated it’s a law they will not enforce bringing more negative attention to this industry so here we are. It’s a stfu sit.
To reiterate the ep9 is a good gun and act fast when you get the back in stock notifications because they make them in 800 unit increments and use the money from the sales to make the next batch.
G’luck
Finally was able to order mine last Friday. Was checking the email randomly and it popped in and I was able to add to cart and checkout!! Cannot wait to get it. They said 1-2 weeks
@@kelofarrar
That’s great. It’s a fun gun to shoot and feels good to get a carbine in pistol calibers this cheap.
Haven’t had any issues with mine. Suggestion , feed it brass.
Glad you got yours in all respects.
I just bought one of these, love it!!!
Comes with origami Glock mag?
This has to be the hardest firearm to order...frustrating.
I’ve heard that man! I think the easiest thing is to get with them via email and see if they will tell you anything about when they’ll become available.
I feel your pain. I've gotten 2 emails saying they had them in stock. The first by the time I checked out they were gone in less than 20 minutes. The second time I didn't see the email until 45 min later and when I checked they were gone as well.
I was disappointed to see that the B5 pistol grip is what was installed on my gun. For my teenage daughters the texture is FAR to aggressive and I don’t really care for it myself either. Two weeks in and already time to do some sanding on the grip to make it usable or spend $25 and upgrade the grip, otherwise all good with the gun.
How could you complain about that at the price????You should have bought a more expensive gun.Im waiting
@@tavareswashington8342 - I bought the gun I wanted, Extar decided to use the B5 grip. I have sanded the grip down to make it comfortably usable.
Its so hard to get one of these right now
I’ve heard that a lot. They make them in such small batches.
Right this very second they are available
@@jimwolabaugh3608 yeah I just ordered mine and picking it up these weekend from my FFL guy, can't wait to shoot it.
Beautiful gun! I think I'm gonna get me one instead of building an AR9
That’s what I did due to the lightweight polymer and cost vs the AR9. It’s a great little PCC out to about 50 yards or so.
Customer service is worthless at Extar. They won't honor the warranty. About 500 rounds through the gun and the firing pin binds in the bolt causing light strikes. It's useless now because I used reman ammo. Like anyone can afford new ammo for the range
How do they know it was remand rounds? Seems like a hard thing to prove . Did it feed hollow points?
@@lelandphill4408 Like an idiot I mentioned I used a mix of ammo that work in my pistols and my HiPoint 995TS. Also, per the rep, they also seem to have a problem with Winchester white box. Never tried hollow points
Where did or where can I get this gun from.I’ve been looking also most everywhere.
You can only purchase them direct from Extar.
I'm looking for a 9mm AR 9 type. I was close to buying the Banshee today but the price i could buy a AR 15. I just want something fun for the range.
Then this $450 EP9 is your thing man. From everyone I’ve spoken with and personal experience they are built as a very solid gun. Shoot straight. Ultra light. Takes Glock mags. 9mm.
Or you could build one out and save some money. I just recently built a Colt 9mm DoE clone and absolutely love shooting it.
Checkout the Brigade brigadefirearms.com/a0915511.html
I've narrowed it down to that and the Extar. Because of price and intended use, I'm leaning towards Extar
@@Uziavenger I was also looking at the Grand Power Stribog
@@Uziavenger that brigade does look sweet
@@Momofatts1 Stribog is very nice as long as you're willing to use their magazines. There's a glock lower prototype for it but it's not yet for sale
its a copy of the galil ace pistol..looks cool
Never really thought about it like that but it is very very similar in shape, size, and looks.
Just some advice, you need to talk with a much higher volume
Do they make a NY compliant version. By that I mean a pinned 15rd mag to 10rds? I only ask because I heard it won’t run 10rd mags.
I don’t think they do. You could always pay a visit to their website and shoot them an email. Their customer service is actually really good!
I don’t have one....yet. But In all the research I’ve done I’ve never heard it won’t run 10rd mags. It doesn’t except glock 26 length mags, but all the other lengths.
If anything they won’t throw in a magazine and you’ll supply your own commie mags.
According to Extar it does run 10rd mags but I live in a communist state and they classify the ep9 as an assault weapon. 🤬
Do they even though it’s a pistol and does not have a stock?
Here's a solution. Get the hell out of NY. I'm in IL and we have more lax gun laws than you at this point, but not for long.
do they only sell them off their website? or can you get them in stores as well?
