Picking my Gen 2 up Wednesday! The reason why it ships with the brace separately is because if it shipped with the brace attached according to their current and proposed braced rules it would be considered an SBR if it shipped w/ the brace attached. I think they redesigned the brace to make the ATF happy too. Small surface area in the rear, velcro strap, etc.. We need to see you shooting! Good vid though!
I was very leery of buying this pistol until a friend of mine told me I was crazy not to look into this pistol.. I purchased the second-generation Extar EP9. He was right I have many rounds through this pistol, it works flawlessly it work with 115 grain 124 grain 147 grain it work with hollow points it works with everything I throughout it great value great pistol. The whole deal from what I understand that since youbuy it directly from the manufacturer and tranfor to your FFL it is cutting the middleman out and therefore the mark up is not there. If you went through a distributor it would probably be in the $700 range in my personal opinion therefore it’s not as cheap (Quality) as everyone thinks what fooled me was the price because again if you’re not going to the middleman the mark up is not their. This is great company great design great pistol you’ll be foolish not to do more research before buying if you’re not convinced on my opinion and then pull the trigger and buy it you won’t be SORRY.
Thanks for all the great info. I (was) looking into getting a Ruger Charger and watched a video that compared it with the EP9. I've watched videos on both guns and have pretty much decided on getting the EP9. I haven't found any bad reviews or negative comments. And no one comes close to the price.
Nice rundown. I just got one and was able fire a few magazines yesterday. It’s light, compact, easy handling, reliable (so far), and really easy and fun to shoot. It’s a great way to sling 9mm down range. I think I enjoyed shooting it more than my CZ Scorpion. 😱
I've had the old gen for years. Very light, very reliable. I just ordered the newer handguard like yours so I can start accessorizing it properly. If I had the money I would get the ep45 and get a can for it
I have their gen1 version the first thing I did was put an ambidextrous safety and a better grip on it as well as a different muzzle device. It actually came with a factory muzzle break but it I replaced it. I'm glad they updated the handguard, those little picitenny rails on the old handguard fell off after a full day of shooting, just ordered the new mlok handguard. They are awsome shooting guns and for the price they can't be beat.
I've had mine for about 3 months already great done I love it I just wish the barrel was longer I've put recover tactical iron sights, recover tacticals angled foregrip that also stores an extra mag , of course I had to put a SB tactical collapsible pistol brace , I put a Sig flashlight, and the Sig Romeo 5 with the bikini covers
This gun is Sweet, it is set up very nicely, I wouldn't change anything on it........I would just mount my green dot with pistol light laser combo that I have swell as a light weight sling and a bunch of 9mm p-mags
HO can you please tell me if the Arm Brace can be extended? I have long arms and I truly rather the gun be as close to 30” as anyway possible. Stock brace pulled back in anyway or even an extension of some sort. Thank you You seemed to know the gun the best.
I believe you can. But ensure you use springs that are designed for 9mm ARs. Sometimes you can have light primer strikes when using standard AR triggers.
Looks like they made some nice improvements. Only thing I wish they would improve is having one with an optional pic rail on the rear so you can add a folding brace instead of the pointless and useless buffer tube.
I completely agree but due to the use of a standard AR buffer spring and buffer system, they have to have a tube for the bolt to reciprocate into. They should use a standard threaded buffer tube. That way you can use other more popular options.
Awesome gun but that company is a pain in the ass to deal with. They demand that you provide them with the FFL info of your dealer and have them contact Extar instead of the other way around. I tried this 3 times, there was always an issue, ended up getting a refund minus a "convenience fee" of $40+
I ran into a similar problem. Local gun shop said extar needed to contact them. Extar said the gun shop needs to contact them. The gun store relented but got the email address wrong. To Extar's credit, after me saying that it was getting frustrating and I'm just trying buy one of their products Extar contacted the gun shop.
@@slimwthatiltedbrim2733 every other gun store simply contacts my FFL. Extar is the only company I've ever even heard of that requires the opposite. They must've had a bad experience somehow and expect all future customers to have to pay for it.
Great unboxing and run-through of this firearm. That being said, I noticed you muzzled yourself several times in the video which is not a good habit to get into whether the weapon is loaded or not.

Great video, BUT...... was yelling internally for you to put that darn brace pad on the end. Haha
Mine is on its way to papa! I think it's going to be great. A budget addition to a Stribog 9A3s and PSA AK-V.
I like the improvements especially that blast forward, and the hand guard. They had a 45 for a while.

Buy and review the Springfield Saint Victor. Awesome rifle

When you buy the ep9 does it come with a brace or you have to buy separately?
I don’t believe that they are able to ship them with braces anymore.
As always interesting and informative my friend 💯🎯💯
Thanks man!
Will it use any AR receiver extension? Or are you stuck with that tube/brace combo?
Do you know if a tailhook would fit on the tube?
Is it small enough to fit in a backpack?
Do you know what the length of pull is with the brace?
Can you swap out the trigger for other ar triggers?
I believe you can. But ensure you use springs that are designed for 9mm ARs. Sometimes you can have light primer strikes when using standard AR triggers.
they upgraded the internals in this gen 2 version got rid of the polymer trigger/safety/buffer retainer plate they are all metal now
Yes, you can
no sights?
If it's silent, what's the price?

Is it possible to add a different brace with more surface area instead of the flat blade like one it comes with?
@@festereugene Extar sells an SB Tactical one on their website for $60.
The buffer tube is not useless! That's where the spring and buffer is housed. This is not an AK platform pistol, it's an AR one.
What's the website to purchase it?
nice review
Je veux avoir le même mais silencieux??
Yes, you can put a silencer
how much was it?
Just got my EP9. Threw on a red dot, but having a hard time getting that thing zeroed in.
Will a KVP XL Comp Fit inside that Handguard …Anyone?
Can you swap out the buffer tube for milspec or other?
No
This is exactly what I've been looking for, but I'm pretty sure this banned in Delaware now
I mine arrived today! Unfortunately can't fire it until tomorrow.
Damn, no forward assist or anyway of forcing the bolt forward. Shitty.
Can u put a folding brace on it??

My FFL had to email them the license. Worked well enough. Maybe the process changed?
@@pizzadog4206 it's been about 3 years so it's possible. I ended up getting a Brigade BM9 instead. I'm very happy with it

Here is a good comparison of the Gen 1 and Gen 2. Dude also has a good review of the extar! ruclips.net/video/N2R1FyG2Ey0/видео.html
It looks so ugly now.
