I love how you just jump into the video. It's unexpected, pleasant, and feels like my time isn't being wasted. About the 3d modelling, I use freecad (Which is 100% not the best) and it feels to me that I'm worrying too much about my models, trying to get them super precise. That's why I enjoy the design process being shown and should keep being shown, as I can see what really matters in a design. Thank you for this video.
Yeah I don't like it when people start videos with a bunch of filler. I usually don't make it past it. Thanks for the feedback. Much more to come. I also post full SolidWorks tutorials of the full design. You can get Solidworks for around $5 a month now for hobby projects.
Nice work. I may try to follow your full video in onshape for practice. I need a 39mm for an old leica Did you print using tpu or would be pla work I wonder?
@@dandesigns3d Thank you for the insight... and walking through the full cad setup! I'm going to try to follow your full tutorial for learning. I appreciate that you took the time to do this :)
I added a 49mm version to the zip file on the project page here dandesigns3d.com/project/custom-lens-cap/ Sorry for the delay, I was out of town for a bit.

I used pla for all parts. It has the right amount of flex for it to work properly.

Is that the inner diameter of where the lens cap hooks?
@@dandesigns3d yes, it’s the filter size
