Hey man, appreciate the work. Your lens cap files are not downloadable anymore. Whenever I hit the green "buy now" button an error occurs and tells me the trial has been expired.
@@chadwin it definitely does inspire however I will be asking my brother to print these out for me 😂 Either way, I’d love to see what other crafty 3D printed stuff you come up with.
Looking forward to more 3DP stuff. I've been closely watching the consumer space for this tech since the last decade. It's nice to see that it's finally becoming more mainstream.
Yeah. That’s what’s so cool about it, you can literally design something and then print it out and hold it all in the same day! You should definitely get one!
that would definitely work as well! I just like having everything bound together as one piece and not using any glue. it would certainly save me a lot of headaches when printing these haha
@@chadwin Understandable. I suppose if the glue ever fails then you'll be back to blank caps again. Anyway, really enjoyed the video. Thanks for the content! [Edit] subbed.
Great video ! Im just not sure about what you mean about slicing to avoid the filaments issue. Don't all files have to be sliced before being able to print? How would slicing prevent the issue? Thx !
Yes!! That would look better! I don’t think I had ironing on yet cause I was still pretty new to 3D printing when I made this. I’ve made full Mandalorian armor now and have learned so much 😆
I've been wondering about printing a tilt-shift adaper for (fully manual of course) lens. I'm thinking about a medium-format lens (for the wider sensor coverage which is needed when you tilt &shift) of a sony a7r4 for example. A non-medium lens can be used too, but the info of the projected spot size (outside of the sensor) is very limited (usually only for crop lenses that can be used on ff cameras)
If you were to buy a 3d printer today for the purpose of printing camera gear/accessories, which one would you choose and why? And do delta printers have any advantage over the standard 3d printers? Is one better than the other in terms of accuracy?
Delta printers used to be quite a lot faster (not anymore.. coreXY and klipper enters the chat). In terms of accuracy.. this is more a question of build quality and if a mesh leveler exists or not, how fine microstepping works on steppers, etc. You want to buy a tool or a hobby? For the tool you might want a prusa, for the hobby ender 3. In the last years more and more printers come with a lot of bells and whistles that chip in the market for prusa so those might be a good budget option. (klipper, mesh leveling, fast steppers, direct drive, lidar, wifi, microstepping, etc)
The "filter remover" is called a filter wrench, and it's available at any pro photography store. I remember having one in the 1990s. They're under $10. So, it might not be worth the time and effort of printing.
You could’ve just printed the focal lengths separately. Make them smaller so that they would with the cap. Saves you the hassle of changing the filament mid printing ☺️
lol! I've actually thought about doing this, but the cube would be massive to fit the P4k/6k and I wouldn't be smart enough to take it apart just to fit the components inside haha!
Have you tried 3-D printing? What would you print? I’m thinking about printing a life-size storm trooper helmet next…
I, too, am a 3d printer fan. It's nice to see that you've included the names of the people who have posted their prints for others to use. Thanks.
Awesome! I love the 3D print community. Thanks for watching. Ima keep posting 3D print stuff related to filmmaking
I like how you credit the people behind those creations.

You always delve right into every project you undertake. Such great ideas!!
Haha thanks! I’m trying to learn as much about it as I can, but I’m still a total newb.
This is super cool man! Thanks for sharing!
Hey thanks man! I’ve always wanted to get into 3D printing, so if it inspires anyone else to, that’d be cool.

Yeah man, I wanna make more videos with 3D print stuff for filmmaking. The technology really
is getting so good and impressive!
@@chadwin I know right! And I'm sure you will.:)
Awesome video! Seems the opportunities are endless with a 3D printer. Will need to get my hands on one soon.

Pretty sick! I just bought a 3D printer and as a photographer this is a great idea
awesome! welcome to the 3D printer family! they're so fun to use and there are many useful things to print related to cameras
With regards to the caps - why not print black caps with the number recessed & then just print white numbers separately and stick them in?
that would definitely work as well! I just like having everything bound together as one piece and not using any glue. it would certainly save me a lot of headaches when printing these haha

When it comes to the 3D modeling part, how do you go about to get it modelled to fit the lens mount?
Did the Austen Paul style stand on the c-stand video and model ever release?
You should use ironing on the very top layer to smooth it out.

@@chadwin Wow! Awesome!
For the lens caps the other option is to make inlays.
These are way better than labels.
Because of this i want a 3d printer
😆 3D printing is addictive! You just wanna print everything

Thanks! More cool 3D printed gear coming soon.
Hi, seems like the download of the Lens Caps isn´t working properly. Hope you can fix it.
yeah, it's busted. lemme fix that and repost the link soon!
Dude! You rock! Thank You!
Been needing a mamiya sekor cs to pentax k or sony e mount for years lol

And I might give the Lense Caps a Shot as well 😇
thanks! I need to update the file links so you can download and print!
3D Print Lens Cap Files are not working anymore :(
sorry, i need to update this still.
Link for the 3d print lens cap isnt working
I know, my free sellfy account expired. lemme try to figure out another way to link the files for download! stand by!
@@chadwin thank you for getting back to me. I sent an email to the site about it
@@chadwin Did you figure out a way to get the link files?
@@chadwin Hi Chadwin, do you have the files?
I love the lens caps, but I noticed they are not available at that link anymore. Are the .stl's offered anywhere else?
well done dollz...
You are an exceptional man 👌👌
You can use the cheapest nail polish to paint cavities on printed parts.
cool
Thanks 👍

the painted version turned out muddy and ugly because you were too lazy to learn how to do it properly.
