💕❤💕 Oh I'm so glad I finally found a Channel with with someone who not actually is educated about there Traxxas RC car but your videos are absolutely Clear and understandable 👌 your attention to Detail is Top Shelf I myself am a Detail Freak sometimes I think im more into that then driving 🚗 the car lol. I have a few am working on a Slash 4x4 right now and your information is PRICELESS and also will work well with my Stampede VXL 4X4 which I have already moded up well I thought until I watched your channel lol. Obviously you don't only upgrade the looks you also upgrade the things we don't see that are critical to the performance and preserving are RC cars and Trucks and your tips and tricks and detailed breakdowns and rebuilds don't skip over the critical parts most skip over which always leaves me scratching my head 🤔. I have been a Master Model builder for most of my life and working with my hands on this kind of stuff keeps my brain fresh at 62 lol as I'm disabled now I cant build things from scratch anymore from wood and metal because I now have carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands as of the last few years its progressed and back and hip issues but this Hobby has given me new hope again with a little patience I can still do it I just might drop a few more screws and say a few more bad words but I try not too lol. I have had my Grave Digger and Stampede for over 8 years and there like new I recently took them out of storage bought 2 new Lipos and cleaned them up and away we go woohoo lol. I have moded up the Stampede significantly to the point after changing to bigbore shocks increased the shock oil wt to 50 the things Heavy now I hope I didn't make it to heavy. Anyway sorry im way off topic here I just kinda wanted to intro myself and my background to you thats funny im sure you will remember that along with all your other subscribers lol anyway THANK YOU AWESOME CHANNEL I wish there were more like it 😊 👍 I'm going to be spending alot of time watching your videos catching up getting educated on taking care of my Traxxas Stampede and Slash and Grave Digger. Dave. 🇺🇸 🌎 Northern Illinois
I'm just getting into rc cars and just purchased a traxxas slash 4x4 sheldon creed edition, and ur vids have helped me get into this hobby faster. Perfect video. 👍
Great vid bro!... When I bought my Traxxas Rustler 2WD, it came with bushings. I quickly upgraded to bearings & what a difference. Also, If you're doing high speed runs & your budget allows it, go with hybrid sealed Si3N4 (silicone nitride) ceramic bearings A5, preferably A7. Or else you'll be replacing them bearings quite often. Ceramic bearing balls are 'much' harder than stainless. Yet they are lighter & have less friction. In identical operation, the ceramic type experience less than 10% the wear of the stainless version. So yeah, they're more expensive at 1st, but you'll be replacing them 'A LOT' less. I'm in the work of replacing all my bearings with ceramic hybrid type since I do mainly high speed runs.
Thank you for that! I have actually been in contact with Avid after this video was published, and they will support me for a couple of videos in near future. I hope the new bearings will give you great RC fun out there :)
Fantastic video. This is great if one loves to fix things. I really had issues with my Traxxas 4x4. I'd tossed it away actually. With all this lock down going on, I pulled it out and realized that the problem was a slipping center diff/clutch. It's now working!! Not sure I'll set out to change all the bearings, especially on this stock version. Might as well buy another one. Or may not, with all these lock downs 😅🤣🤣
In the middle of a complete bearing change on my Slash 4x4 myself, just finished the rear differential rebuild and now I'm not sure if I put all the bearings seal side out, and my OCD self is going to have to take it apart and check 😂
I didn't change my bearings simply because I didn't know I needed to about three years ago so now I have had to replace almost everything a bearing touches as the get stuck
Can you please provide a link to the bearing seating tool that you have as it looks like a really useful addition to the toolkit for all things RC. Thanks man and keep up the great work!
Thanks Henry! Great to have you stopping by my channel :) Yes, I need to get me a set of stainless steel screws on that truck, but right now I have some shock builds for my track racer, and a brand new Axial build coming up.
Had a question about your setup...where can I find these items you are using? 1. Shock Towers 2. Chassis Brace 3. Body Insert? Enjoyed your videos. Some of the best tutorials I've seen. Maybe you can do one on diffs and shocks next time. Or proper meshing. new sub. Hope to see more videos soon. I know getting settled into a new home puts a hold on a lot of the "fun" stuff. :)
Shock towers on my basher are integy t3 towers. They are super beefy but doen’t go perfect with the proline extended body mounts. My racer has strc towers mounted. They are slim but super strong. Hasn’t failed me to this date! The chassis brace is from vg-racing. Google and buy off their website. Hope that helped :)
Haha the only bearings that I need to change was inside the motor... I had to buy a new one.... there was nothing left. The coils where jacked the magnets where loose and the core was bent... well I guess it wasn’t the bearing it was more or less the 120mph crash directly into a bridge hand rail
+rad asd thanks man! I bought the blue heat sink from yeah racing and the stock traxxas esc fan. Then I cut off the bottom "taps" or "mounts" on the fan to be able to screw it on the hest sink. Then I just put the fan wire in the receiver. Easy :)
once you change de 54t gear on the sleeping clutch for one in metal did you break anything in the gear box? im scared of but im also bored to change my gear every time im using a 3s
Well, it's hard so say, because there are so many variables that will play into the lifetime of a bearing. Like if you have a really good traction and do a lot of tight turns this will put the bearings on the rear carries through a hard test. I change those on my racer at least once a month due to the super grip I have on my local carpet track. I basically drive them until they lock up and fall to pieces. Other bearings on the Slash will last for ages. It's a good idea to check every now and then. If you're doing some repairs on the truck, you might as well check the bearings while you're in there :)
Not sure what you mean here... There’s a pretty extensive overview over bearings and where to get them in the description of my video. Let me know if you need any help :)
ya was getting the kid ready for school and happened to look away but then I seen you did the front so I rewind a seen you got it lol...you made that look to easy tho
The teflon washers he completely does not have on his truck are important. He also completely misses explaining the importance of pre-soaking your bearing. So be careful following this as a step-by-step instructional video. To add to his resources being offered. There are kits on Amazon SS or standard. This is an SS kit: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IIEF3EI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 FYI: Rubber vs metal side covers has nothing to do with water proofing. It is about serviceability and the ability to oil or grease said bearing. @Northern Light RC - I have to ask because you have obviously thrown alot of money as this truck with more metal than the avg 8th scale conversion. So since money or weight isn't really a problem then why have you not switched over to stainless steel fasteners?
Sorry, I found this comment in the trash due to the amazon link. I must just say that I'm an RC enthusiast and no professional, so I might be missing some good pointers in my videos. I try my best, and all tips I include in my videos work very well for me. But if you or anyone else want to correct me or give additional information, it is very welcome!! My goal on this channel is to share knowledge and experience I had to dig deep to find and make it easier for the next guy to find :) Cheers!

Love your videos mate, have helped me a lot. Saved me on the steering bellcrank job.
Hope you and your family are safe atm. 👊🏻 Cheers from Australia.

Whoever disliked the video has no clue on why they were here to begin with. This is very informative. Well done.
Thanks for the support, buddy! Haters gonna hate, that’s ok.
Nice vid. Very clear and precise. Avid should give you free bearings, I'm going to order my next lot from them thanks to your plug 😎
Thank you for that! I have actually been in contact with Avid after this video was published, and they will support me for a couple of videos in near future. I hope the new bearings will give you great RC fun out there :)
New to the hobby and let me tell you! Your video is amazing!!! all aspects of definitely helping me out. Great job man
Excellent video! Thank you for taking the time to help others! 🤘🏻

More, more! Make more please! WELL done!
Can you please provide a link to the bearing seating tool that you have as it looks like a really useful addition to the toolkit for all things RC. Thanks man and keep up the great work!
+Brad Halstead , sure thing. It's a "no brand item" from ebay, just search for rc bearing tool. Here's one example: www.ebay.com/itm/122192779951
Thanks!
Awesome video!!!!! Super helpful thank you. Can I ask why you didn't clean the parts more? It hurt my OCD haha
Aloha, Great video!!! I am just getting into the hobby and really enjoying it. You make it look very easy. Thank You!!!
Very clear video. Thank you! Do you have plan changing all the screws to stainless steel?
Thanks Henry! Great to have you stopping by my channel :) Yes, I need to get me a set of stainless steel screws on that truck, but right now I have some shock builds for my track racer, and a brand new Axial build coming up.
Where can I buy the tools you’re using? The look super nice.
Thanks a lot man probably I will get new bearings for my slash :D Helped a lot!
Thanks man, I'm glad to help a fellow RC hobbyist out :)
Very thorough and informative! Thank you
These are great videos
Are you going to make more?
Had a question about your setup...where can I find these items you are using?
1. Shock Towers
2. Chassis Brace
3. Body Insert?

Sorry, integy t2 shock towers, gun metal :)
It’s good to change the motor bearings too
Nice breakdown! Very helpful to us noobs. 😎
Thanks, man! You won't stay a noob for long if you watch videos like this :)
+Peter I believe it's gun metal.
Regarding the wheel bearings, is there a tool or trick to remove a blown bearing? The outside edge of the bearing is seized in the rear hub.
Haha the only bearings that I need to change was inside the motor... I had to buy a new one.... there was nothing left. The coils where jacked the magnets where loose and the core was bent... well I guess it wasn’t the bearing it was more or less the 120mph crash directly into a bridge hand rail
Do you have any issues with the mip axels rubbing up against the aluminum hub carrier .
Im rebuilding my transmissiin and i checked all bearings and they spin freely should i still replace them?
Hi mate awesome videos once again, would love to see more. Where did you by the shock towers from?
Thanks, buddy! More stuff is coming in the spring. Got a super busy life at the time. Think I bought them off rc-mart online.
Hi nice video . No shims ?
Great video. Thanks for taking the time!,
Excellent video just subscribed
Fantastic video. Thank you
great job subscribed !!
can you please share whats the motor fan you have and how did you wire it up
+rad asd thanks man! I bought the blue heat sink from yeah racing and the stock traxxas esc fan. Then I cut off the bottom "taps" or "mounts" on the fan to be able to screw it on the hest sink. Then I just put the fan wire in the receiver. Easy :)
What heat sink and fan do you have on your motor? Do you have a link?
Awesome video man!! Really appreciate it !!
Awesome video, done very well.
Would white lithium grease work on my rustlers bearings or should I add no grease at all
once you change de 54t gear on the sleeping clutch for one in metal did you break anything in the gear box? im scared of but im also bored to change my gear every time im using a 3s
What is the internal cage of your slash please? Greg from France✌
Good job man. Good vid!
great video what shock tower is that ?>
Love your videos. Very informative
+Russell Reeves thank you! I'm having a good time making them :)
What fans are those on the motor and esc?
Awesome video. ..but you forgot a bearing in the diffs
Well done mate!
+GulliverBG thanks! Thank you for dropping in to my channel :)
Assuming you have a stock slash ultimate 4x4 you could just buy a 23 piece kit
Great video!
my center spur bearing went out and messed up my rear diff and center drive line lol
Great job thanks for the video
+james jones Thank you!!
Awesome video thanks
What brand are those axels ?
do you have trouble with the hex slipping when tightening the wheel nuts. I had to drill a hole for the set screw or my hub would bind and not roll
+Joe S Hi Joe! No I have not experienced that problem. Are you using the included washers between the hex and bearing?
Great video thank you
Great info man 👍
Can anyone tell me the name or brand of the oil he used to prevent the screw from unscrewing itself at 9:04. Thank you!
Loctite 243, my friend :)
nice vid! what interior do you use?
Hi there, that is the Cockpit kit from Killerbody. I bough mine off asiatees: www.asiatees.com/display?brand=Miscellaneous&model=All&id=94581
What shock towers are you running?
Those are the Integy T2's.
if you don't drive in the sand or water only pavement how long do the last ?

what bearings for wheel
Not sure what you mean here... There’s a pretty extensive overview over bearings and where to get them in the description of my video. Let me know if you need any help :)
I found them
pinion gear bearings
eyyy im norwegian too
Cool! Where are you from?
Nordland ballangen
Nevermind I missed it
Haha, you got me stressed out there for a little while :)
ya was getting the kid ready for school and happened to look away but then I seen you did the front so I rewind a seen you got it lol...you made that look to easy tho
+craig mcclellan well, it's super important to turn "waiting for the kids" time into something useful :) Everything's easy after editing, my friend :)
I commented
hahhaha don’t say “step”
