My current build on my Python MK 2 is four 3C frag cannons (gimbaled) engineered with double shot and screening shell. I also have two 2D beam lasers (gimbaled) engineered with short range. I use the beam lasers to strip off their shields then chew down their hull with the frag cannons. If their hull is low enough, I just finish them off with the beam lasers to save ammo.
I use a similar build, but with 3 x plasma on top and a pacifier and 2 frags in the other slots.. Works really well.. 2nd Python is Advanced Plasma's in all size 3 slots, then 2 x Beam lasers or frags in the size 2 slots. Depends on my usage, big ships is build 2, small ships is build number 1. Both are tons of fun..
My frag build for Python 2 is crippled by poor engineering choices! I just unlocked the Pacifiers, so I am now gathering mats to engineer them. I am impressed with Pacifiers un-engineered as they are! I have added this to my Helpful other commanders playlist on my channel for others to find, love your videos.
I have a similar build but I don't have the pacifiers, yet. 4 lrg frags, two OC with incendiary, 1 OC with drag and 1 OC with corrosive is enough to wipe shields in the first volley and for the 2 med hardpoints I have rails with long range and super penetrator. During the latest community goal bounty hunting I never lost my shields LOL
I always have to go Screening Shell on the Pacs - that -50% reload time really up's the DPS. I like Corrosive and Drag Munitions, but in the end I went with a long range SCB-cancelling Hammer... It's nice!
Interesting build once again. Don't forget that your FSD, FSD-Booster and cargohatch don't have to be powered while deploying hardpoints. Swapping one of those hd-shieldboosters for resistance augmented or thermal resistant is the real deal when it comes to adding the finishing touch to your shields. I further recommend using some lasers for enemy shields, because they don't use ammo - this all kinetic build is kinda overkill. And what is a surface scanner doing on a combat ship? ;) This could be another module or hull reinforcement. What I really do like is them frag cannons, especially the pacifiers - I actually got those installed on a multi-purpose-special-ops python mkI just yesterday. Double shot with various experimentals is just the way to go. Keep up the good work. o7
I picked up I think six Pacifiers a little while ago, still don't know what I'm going to put them on. I'm apparently not allowed to have a Python mk2, being on console... my FDL is currently set up for all multicannons, my Krait is 2 large beams, 2 packhounds, and 1 large multi. Honestly I think I'm gonna make a Pacifier Chief. My trader Python currently has 3 of the Pacifiers still equipped from when I bought them, but that ship is going to flip between a cargo hauler & a miner. My other Python is a Robigo runner.
I aint played in like 2 years. I just got the new python and already engineered most of it with regular frag cannons. I just need to get more mats. I figured id has the max amounts but i guess not once i went to a engineer.
Fed Corvette with mostly BEAM-Lasers. No ammo needed. Game-over for PVE pirates - simple as that. Otherwise would go for the Anaconda. ;D Bounty-Hunting is lame compared to AX-combat in my opinion. Checked the bounty hunting for the community goal, very dull and not risky at all. I think they need to up some higher risk / payout pirate missions for us players with fully engineered ships. Payout is not great - would maybe recommend for materials or testing some ship fittings. Nothing else.

Cheers dude

Nice to have the range if needed-
Is this a OP build for the python mk2??
Railguns could also work. That is if you use long range combined with plasma slug.
Thermal damage is your weakness you should have sacrificed the heatsyncs with shield boosters to counter your -thermal resistance
Good point - I will make changes

Having a FC, you can fine tune the builds more towards combat vs Having a jump range which increases weight and consumes power.
Correct, and I will once the titans are out the way.
I'd swap the hull reinforcements for SCBs especially if you are running prismatics.

Looks like a fun build
I got my Python 2 setup like yours. Works great for hunting 😂
works really really well
whoa, where did you find a military grade composite for the python mk2?
Jameson memorial
OC + incendiary on all except one medium that would have high cap corrosive. Yours is ok but this is superior in terms of dps.
I built mine with engineered standard frag cannons, got battered by a ferdy twice, got my revenge with my type 10, must practice more 😂
For non thargoids all hull and module reinforcements should be guardian. Also wouldn’t put a fad booster on any military ship. Use carrier to move it.

Ricardo, nice PvE build, but wouldn't last 30 seconds in PvP match against an experienced CMDR.
Possibly
