First of all, I am NOT dumb. Secondly, if you don't want someone talking over the video THEN JUST GO WATCH THE ORIGINAL VIDEO! Kind of stupid to watch a reaction and then expect the person to sit silently and stare at the screen. If that is the kind of reaction you prefer, then you can go watch those....WITHOUT leaving a negative comment on your way out. I personally think that reactions where the person just sits there are incredibly boring and pointless to watch. You might as well just go watch the original video if the person isn't adding anything to it. Also, HEAVEN FORBID I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT DIMASH AND THE VIDEO *BEFORE* I WATCH IT!!! You know this is a reaction, right? That means I have little to no prior knowledge going into it. This was my first time ever hearing of Dimash, so it makes no sense to call me dumb for being unsure of things. I'm pretty sure that if I looked different, I wouldn't get a lot the mean comments I get. And for the people who are gonna say, "You're the one who chooses to wear a lot of makeup, dye your hair, wear it in pigtails, etc." Yeah. BECAUSE I LIKE IT! I look how I want to look. And looks have no correlation to intelligence level. That's like saying a pink car isn't as fast as a silver car when they are the same type of car, simply different colors. Am I supposed to change to suit others' preferences? It's impossible to please everyone anyway. By the way, people who judge others based on their appearance are worse than the people they are judging. Didn't we all learn this in kindergarten? "Don't judge a book by its cover." Ring any bells? Me wearing my hair in pigtails or wearing "too much makeup" isn't hurting anyone. Not a single soul. And being dumb and annoying isn't a crime either (if you think I am those things). There are way more important things going on in the world and shouldn't you elitist Dimash fans have better things to do than pick on some dumb little blonde girl on the internet? (Not all Dimash fans are elitists, obviously. A lot of people have been very lovely, but I will say that I have had more negative encounters with Dimash fans than with any other fandom. A lot of people seem to think they are somehow superior because they listen to Dimash. Guess what? I am a fan of Dimash too, so.... ) I am sick of just having to sit here and keep my mouth shut while people crap on me. I'm not allowed to say anything or I'LL look like a bad person. No! The people taking the time to tear other people down (people who aren't doing anything wrong and aren't hurting anyone in any way)....THOSE are the bad people! And this whole "you put yourself out there on the internet so you should expect it" mentality is messed up! Most people are on the internet nowadays. So now it is the equivalent of going out in public. Going to the grocery store doesn't give people the right to treat you like crap and call you names. No one would say "Well, it's your fault. You left your house so you should expect it. You should have just stayed at home and kept yourself hidden." So why is it okay on the internet? It's like teaching girls how to be cautious and try not to do things that get them raped rather than putting the emphasis on teaching boys not to rape. We keep telling people that they need to learn to deal with hate and bullying and develop a thick skin, instead of telling people it is unacceptable to be bullies. Is it that hard not to be an a**hole? If so, then YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! Not me! Oh, and for the people complaining about my audio levels and this and that....YOU HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE! How can you get better at something without ever doing it and making mistakes? I guess everyone just does everything perfectly from the start? How dare you criticize me when you don't even know all of the little things that go into making a reaction! I challenge anyone who is thinking about leaving a critical comment to try making one. The song is called Daybreak and is a true story about a boy who survived a cable car accident in China because his parents held him over their heads as they fell. The song is from the boy's point of view now that he's older and he's remembering the events of that day. It is an emotional song and Dimash does such an incredible job relaying the meaning threw his singing techniques and emotional body language.

You're welcome! I've only learned all this because of Dimash. After listening to this song I wanted to know more so I have been scouring the net. He was like a dark horse in The Singer China, invited because the producers heard he won a competition and they liked what they heard. He sang first(unknowns sing first) and the audience clapped because they knew he was a foreigner, but haven't heard much of his singing, just snippets. So they clapped at beginning to encourage him. But they were as shocked as all of us, after-see their reactions. He actually won this round and became an overnight sensation in China. All of us believed he will win the overall show, but politics decided he gets second place..

This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode]. This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. It actually made me a little teary to think of an unknown singer going out onto the stage and blowing everyone away :') Other people have requested Opera 2, but for some reason it never clicked in my brain that it was VITA'S Opera 2!! Dimash is young (24) handsome....more like beautiful, tall(191cm, 6'3"), multi talented (multi instrumentalist, composer and arranges songs songs in no less than 8 languages though he's only fluent in 2...Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian with a fair bit of English. He's currently learning English and Mandarin. His parents are honored professional singers in Kazakhstan.

I guess everyone has their own most and least impressive song from Dimash. SOS was my most impressive song for him for a while. Right now it is "Love like a dream", then ""Love of tired swans", and "Confessa". Opera 2 is one of the least impressive. Yes, he hits high notes, but there are no storytelling, no strong emotions.

And thank you for giving me constructive criticism nicely, unlike some people...The audio is a constant struggle for me because I am working with what I have, which isn't the best, and it's really hard to tell how loud to make it. The audio sounds different on different devices and with/without headphones, so I don't know how to make it good for everyone. It sounds fine to me when I am editing, but then people complain 😕
I love that you’ve been reacting to Q pop. I found Q pop in reverse of you, in that I saw videos of Dimash and then started up looking up Kazakh bands afterwards. I really knew nothing about Kazakhstan and in the US the most popular reference we have to the country is unfortunately ... Borat :/ like obviously it’s a joke and not meant to be regarded as accurate, but I think people hear the country name ends in -Stan and think of Borat, and then see Dimash and go why does he look Asian x.x
Heather, quite the rant! I agree with everything I read, really. I listen to reaction videos to hear reactor's opinions while listening to the music myself. It's fun watching others enjoy what you expect them to enjoy. One small thing you could do to improve the experience for me, and perhaps some of your other viewers, if you would kindly turn up the volume of the singer/performer to which you're reacting, it would be a blessing. I had to turn up the volume to hear Dimash's beautiful voice at an enjoyable volume, but when I did your commentary came out a bit too loud. Again, love the commentary, know for a fact you weren't trying to scream over the music being played, but in this case your voice at normal volume almost reached scream proportions. Who knows, you might be able to adjust this mix with a bit of editing.
Thank you for being respectful, but this was filmed forever ago and I have since improved. However, others should take note of the right way to deliver constructive criticism. You don't have to call someone a stupid idiot because you didn't like their video or there were things that could be better. You're welcome! I've only learned all this because of Dimash. After listening to this song I wanted to know more so I have been scouring the net. He was like a dark horse in The Singer China, invited because the producers heard he won a competition and they liked what they heard. He sang first(unknowns sing first) and the audience clapped because they knew he was a foreigner, but haven't heard much of his singing, just snippets. So they clapped at beginning to encourage him. But they were as shocked as all of us, after-see their reactions. He actually won this round and became an overnight sensation in China. All of us believed he will win the overall show, but politics decided he gets second place..

This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode].
This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. Between his first performance ["S.O.S." in French] and his 2nd performance [Vita's "Opera 2" in Russian], he quickly won their hearts completely.

Dimash is young (24) handsome....more like beautiful, tall(191cm, 6'3"), multi talented (multi instrumentalist, composer and arranges songs songs in no less than 8 languages though he's only fluent in 2...Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian with a fair bit of English. He's currently learning English and Mandarin. His parents are honored professional singers in Kazakhstan.

I guess everyone has their own most and least impressive song from Dimash. SOS was my most impressive song for him for a while. Right now it is "Love like a dream", then ""Love of tired swans", and "Confessa". Opera 2 is one of the least impressive. Yes, he hits high notes, but there are no storytelling, no strong emotions.
While Opera 2 shows his range better this song shows his technique and emotion better...imho.

And thank you for giving me constructive criticism nicely, unlike some people...The audio is a constant struggle for me because I am working with what I have, which isn't the best, and it's really hard to tell how loud to make it. The audio sounds different on different devices and with/without headphones, so I don't know how to make it good for everyone. It sounds fine to me when I am editing, but then people complain 😕
I love that you’ve been reacting to Q pop. I found Q pop in reverse of you, in that I saw videos of Dimash and then started up looking up Kazakh bands afterwards. I really knew nothing about Kazakhstan and in the US the most popular reference we have to the country is unfortunately ... Heather, quite the rant! I agree with everything I read, really. I listen to reaction videos to hear reactor's opinions while listening to the music myself. It's fun watching others enjoy what you expect them to enjoy. One small thing you could do to improve the experience for me, and perhaps some of your other viewers, if you would kindly turn up the volume of the singer/performer to which you're reacting, it would be a blessing. I had to turn up the volume to hear Dimash's beautiful voice at an enjoyable volume, but when I did your commentary came out a bit too loud. Again, love the commentary, know for a fact you weren't trying to scream over the music being played, but in this case your voice at normal volume almost reached scream proportions. Who knows, you might be able to adjust this mix with a bit of editing.
Thank you for being respectful, but this was filmed forever ago and I have since improved. However, others should take note of the right way to deliver constructive criticism. You don't have to call someone a stupid idiot because you didn't like their video or there were things that could be better. The way that you approached me would be much more likely to result in improvement. Again, thank you :)
