Thank you so much! This is by far the best breakdown of this (or any) step I have seen. As a beginning adult dancer, it has been hard to find good instruction. I can't wait to see more, and I will be sharing this with my classmates!
I watched your video again and I am impressed with your talent and efficiency in teaching. So rare to see a great artist to have also the domain of such different and difficult art of teaching. May God keep on blessing you and wish you success in all areas of your life. Thanks from Brazil.
Thank you Tyler for teach the proper technique for doing drums! I’ve been dancing for 12 years and never knew that I had been doing drums the wrong way until watching your video on this!
Finally, a tutorial on the wobbly Irish ankles I have been searching for! 😅 Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge, you're a great instructor. Regards from South Africa.
Thank you Tyler. My teachers never taught me how to drum and I’m in open champ but I started dancing very late. I just learned today thanks to you! You’re so good at teaching and you made it very clear. No other tutorial did the same! I’m so glad you have a channel to help struggling dancers.
After years of being a fan of Irish Dance I decided why not try to learn and incorporate it into my fitness plan. Your videos are by far the best I have come across. Great teaching method! However, I thought I was in decent shape, my legs, at least, are telling me otherwise after a few sessions of watching and practicing from your videos and stressing muscles in ways my other workouts evidently were not :) Great work and thanks for your videos! -- Phil
Thanks Phil! You're right, Irish Dance can be quite the cardio workout too! Keep up the dancing, and gradually your legs gain more efficiency and muscle memory for it!
Amazing amamzing!!! Thank you thank you!!! I started Irish dance later in life and this helps me practice and gives different perspectives, etc. It is just so amazing! Thank you and please keep the tips and tricks coming!
Thank you for this video!!! It’s by far the best explaining drums to my 10 yr old!! I know someone else asked already but I too would LOVE a video going through and explaining the “tippy” during trebles. We call them curls. Looks a bit like you’re doing a drum during the trebles. She can’t quite figure those out either. We are new subscribers and love you!!!
@@TylerSchwartzDance OMG. Coming from 1-2-3-4 to 1-2-shhh-3 is HARD. Basic Malay Dance like Zapin starts with…NOW PAY ATTENTION TO HOW YOU HAVE BEEN WALKING AND NOW MAKE IT SMOOTH AND PRETTY. Hi Tyler. Thank you, this is a super-super useful tutorial. It is great that you explain it in so much detail. Could you please explain the simple triplet trebles (123s). It's the most basic but tricky.
You're very welcome. I'll add it to the list! Be on the lookout for a "Back-treble" vid that will go into triplet trebles. And be sure to subscribe and share this with your fellow dance people, or whoever would benefit from this! Hopefully we can build this channel up!

Hi Tyler, I was wondering if you have a video on doing basic rallys. I'm having a hard time when my instructor is telling me to flex my foot but keep the foot bouncy too.
Thanks, Tyler! I really appreciate your tutorials. Any chance you could do one about "tippy-tippy" (taping with only front tip several times)? How to practice it in order to reach good visual (twisting ankles), but more importantly to keep good regular soundation :-)
@@TylerSchwartzDance Yes, that's it. I actually think I have this "tippy-tippy" name from one of your videos.. don't know what are the other names, maybe simple "treble-treble-treble..." would work as well..
Tyler Schwartz Dance I second wanting a video to break down that as well! My daughter is learning them. We call them curls. Where the foot curls during trebles. She is struggling to learn them and has to incorporate them into her treble jig. We would LOVE a video just about the curls/tippies!!!
This is a good source for heel work. I watched 'Jean Butler's Irish Dance' and she calls the drum section heel work. I tried this slow and still need work on it. P.S: Yes, Tyler, this is Benjamin Ledford telling you thanks for the tips. (get the pun?)
Hi I’m really interested in Irish dancing. I’m 14 so I feel like it’s too late to start. I also don’t think my parents will let me. I’ve just been trying to learn online by myself but I don’t have proper shoes. What are some substitutes I can use for hard shoes? Also you are really good at breaking down steps which I really appreciate.
You're never too old to learn, and 14 is a great age to start learning the ropes! Two things I would highly recommend is to pick up a proper pair of dance shoes, and possibly look into taking in person lessons from an Irish Dance School nearby your location! Be careful dancing in sneakers as some of them are too "sticky" and can potentially cause some tripping!
Thank you a lot for the advice. I found a really good Irish dance school nearby but I don’t think my parents would let me. They don’t even know I’m interested in Irish dance and I’ve always hated dance until I found Irish dance. Something just clicked when I saw it and I just love it so much. It’s also really expensive.

Hey Tyler, i'm whatching your videos, congratulations. I wanna just say: when you break it down, it's not so clear. It's difficult for me to understand where i am on the beat... It's always a sequence of steps but there isn't the count. So, when i'm practicing with the metronome it's quite impossible to handle the pattern.
Hey there! It sounds like you're ready to take the trick to music! In this tutorial, I am just showing how to execute the trick. That would make a great sequel to this video!
