This is a how to video on the best way to fish a fluke. First master the Senko and the next step is to master the Fluke. Now I'll show you how I fish it!
Been following and watching Roland for 30+ years. Growing up without someone in my family to teach me I learned so much from KVD, Roland,Bill Dance, Larry Nixon ect. You guys are all legends. Thank you
this guy is a legend. I have been learning a lot from him before RUclips. So awesome to see Roland teaching. This is great wisdom. You can't beat experience. This guy has seen so much innovation in artificial lurers. The proof in in the pudding. Look at all the giant bass he catches.
Recently discovered this awesome bait! Always knew they were there and heard they were good but recently tied one on and stubbornly stuck with it and am glad I did. Thanks for your instruction, I will definitely give your set up a try👍🏼
Roland, my flukes haven't seen the light of the day for quite some time because of fishing other baits. But after watching you today you have got me excited to fish the fluke again. Thanks and take care.
Roland, the great point being quiet in fishing just like hunting, I have walked up on ponds before too quick and scared Bass away and seen wakes. It was good to hear you instructed rifle in the US Army, I love a good rifle, I also get the point to be a line watcher, like a scope on a rifle.
I know it's cliche to say, but Roland I can promise that you forgot more about bass fishing than I can probably learn and that's what is so awesome watching you work your magic because it's filled with a mountain of tip's and trick's that I can never turn down the opportunity to learn!!
I'm going to keep it real with you I'm learning so much from you, you have no idea how much fish I've been catching by watching from you, man one day we will fish together. 😎👍🇺🇸🎣🥊💯💯💯
Thank you, Mr. Martin!! Another great lesson!! I've caught a lot of bass on flukes, but I expect to do better, now!! I've never tried the loop knot, and that extra motion really should make a difference. Without it, I've been restricting the motion a bit, no doubt!
Learned bass fishing from good old boys in ocala fl. Very same method but with 8lb. Mono using either manns jelly worms or crème scoundrels that was 35 years ago still my favorite way to bass fish
Man the fluke is money at the lake I like to fish. The fluke and the senko is deadly! I use the zoom flukes, but recently I’ve been using the 6th sense version of the fluke called the Flush, and man that bait has me so impressed. It gets crushed! You need to give it a try Mr. Martin. My best day fishing was last fall when those bass was busting shad up by the bank and I would throw that 6th sense fluke over to where they were busting and would get bite every cast. It was incredible!
I love the fluke! Specially for fall small mouth.. been fishing it on the river here in Illinois and catching numbers of small mouth when others around me aren't
Thanks for your advice Roland. I have learned a lot from your videos. I love senko fishing. I caught all my bass on senko's. I'm still learning every day.
Thank you Roland for all your videos and information. Been out of fishing for a long time. Fishing is all I used to do and I'm so rusty and out of the loop your videos are just fantastic. Been to black butte lake in CA 5 times and only been catching a few small bass but again I'm rusty and been doing the wrong things. So I'm grateful for your videos. My dream is to fish oakachobee( probably didn't spell that right). Maybe one day. Hoping to hit clear lake CA soon. Big bass there and maybe a senko or fluke will bag me a few. Thanks again for all your videos Roland.
Thank you Sir this one gave more some ideas to try. I fish a lot of swift water canals here in So Cal desert. Going to use this method to get under the low bridges and crossings
Thank you Roland. That was so helpful. I do fish a fluke often, I like the baby bass color, have also caught some on a white with a chartreuse tail, but love tell you did it on a loopknot with the breed and leader combo. Thanks a million I always enjoy your videos.
At first I thought he had cowboy boots on, God love him! I grew up with him, Bill Dance, Virgil Ward, etc. They had shows on TV back when there were only a handful of channels.
Bass man over there catching em all like Pokémon over there recently while I was bass fishing i caught a mega trout on some new bait i tried from Berkley here where I live there just smallmouth, stripers and perch so it helps watching this!
I switched to the offset worm hook for flukes after I started gut-hooking too many smallies on the EWG's. Haven't lost one after that, and the 5" superfluke in green pumpkin magic has been my #1 confidence bait all summer and fall.
On lake Juliette, plant scherer near Macon Georgia, a super fluke with a split shot about a foot above the hook is deadly on schooling striped bass. Schools bustin shad as big as a football field. It’s unbelievable, I love the fluke, I’m pretty sure I’ve mastered it, probably my number one lure of all time, and made in Georgia!! Go dawgs!
Me: Hey Roland do you have a 🖊 pen Roland: no but i have a senko Lol i love your Vids keep up the great job teaching us and spreading the knowledge. God Bless and have fun fishing
Flukes and trick worms will catch fish ANYWHERE. Of course you had senkos in your front pocket the whole time. Lol! My "go-to" is the truck worm rigged whacky. Reason one, I am a Miami fan and a whacky trick worms makes a U. Reason two, it's an easy rig to watch and cover a lot ground with. Reason three, you can reuse it until it's completely gone.
My secret is in the hook. I use a 4/0 Gamakatsu Skip-Gap Hook, the bend in the hook helps keep the placement true without effecting the action. You guys must try it!!
I was talking to my dad today(he is 75 and has lost most of his sight), and out of the blue, he said that his top bucket list item would be to go fishing with Roland Martin! I’d love to see his dream come true. He’s been telling me about his experience fighting in Vietnam, which he has never talked with me about these things until now. He served 2 tours of duty and was discharged with 4 Purple Hearts and a silver star. He can’t enjoy many things due to being almost blind, but fishing he can handle
This is exactly how you should rig a fluke, weightless, weedless and twitching. So many people and videos on RUclips have tried to tell me not to use EWG hooks and leave the hook exposed, but they are wrong. Fishing a fluke is as much about technique as it is about rigging the fluke. Roland's rigging works because he has perfected his technique. Improve your technique and this rigging will work.
I've used a silver speckled 2 inch bass assassin for years as my secret weapon. Throw it out there and jerk it HARD, then let it fall for a few seconds. Jerking it often results in a hook set as they grab it on the fall. I never caught many big ones this way, but tend to rack up numbers of smaller fish, which is OK for me. That being said, this hasn't worked well for me this year. I've been doing ok on drop shots, wacky rigs and Ned rigs, but not as well as I have done over the years with the Bass Assassin.
My record for a day is 44 bass in a 7 hour on a 14 acre pond, how many do I need to catch? My record is 22 on one top water. I am always happy to bring home my limit of 6 per day. Do gar an catfish count
“IM GONNA SNEAK UP ON THIS BASS”
Yells Roland as he sneaks up on that bass 😄
Been following and watching Roland for 30+ years. Growing up without someone in my family to teach me I learned so much from KVD, Roland,Bill Dance, Larry Nixon ect. You guys are all legends. Thank you
same

I never get tired of learning from Roland. Since I was young, he has always taught me cool techniques.
Another great video. Roland is the best bass fishing educator of all time!
I love that RUclips is the new TV and anyone can have a channel.. this guy is a legend

I agree...and both are important tips.
Fluke fishing is one of my favorite ways to fish ,as specially in the spring school bass season. 🐟🐠🐡
I love watching and learning from you Roland. Don’t ever stop!
Been watching you since I was knee high to a grasshopper roland..kept at it old timer
Great video. I've used flukes but never tried it with a loop knot. I can't wait to try it. Thanks, I learn so much from your videos!!!

I love the fluke! Specially for fall small mouth.. been fishing it on the river here in Illinois and catching numbers of small mouth when others around me aren't

You’re an excellent instructor Roland. Thank you!
Love Roland, been watching him since I was a kid.
Thanks for your advice Roland.
I have learned a lot from your videos.
I love senko fishing. I caught all my bass on senko's. I'm still learning every day.

You're a good coach. Thanks. I need to practice the fluke fishing now that you've led the way.

Imagine being taught algebra by a legend like Roland Martin. That would be pretty cool. Great video!
Thank you Roland for walking on the water that was good ,
Gonna go try the Fluke now
Senko, flukes, and trickworms are my go to lures. You can take just those out for the day and be set eith a few different hooks and weights.
Hi Roland. Just tried the fluke set up and caught a 4 pounder! Thanks for the video.
At first I thought he had cowboy boots on, God love him! I grew up with him, Bill Dance, Virgil Ward, etc. They had shows on TV back when there were only a handful of channels.
Great job. You are a legend of the sport. Always love watching your videos. We love you my friend.
Great information 👍 and the best instructor.thx Roland for the fluke tips!
Thanks for the tips and advice, working on my mastery of the fluke currently. Cheer's
Bass man over there catching em all like Pokémon over there recently while I was bass fishing i caught a mega trout on some new bait i tried from Berkley here where I live there just smallmouth, stripers and perch so it helps watching this!
Really like that offset worm hook much better than the ewg for flukes and worms. Much better hookup ratio.
absolutely all i use now is the offset "Straight" shank wide gap misses 2x as many
I use these exact same hooks for t rig as well
I learn so much from your videos. Thank you Roland!
Excellent. True passion for a sport he loves. Thank you
I switched to the offset worm hook for flukes after I started gut-hooking too many smallies on the EWG's. Haven't lost one after that, and the 5" superfluke in green pumpkin magic has been my #1 confidence bait all summer and fall.
grn ppk magic finesse worm is a largie slayer on a wacky rig

Reminds me of the Ol Slug-Go
Thanks Roland, sold again! I'll be doing the Fluke. I take notes. :)
Me: Hey Roland do you have a 🖊 pen
Roland: no but i have a senko
Lol i love your Vids keep up the great job teaching us and spreading the knowledge. God Bless and have fun fishing
Thank you for the lesson, Roland!
Great vid Roland 👍keep doing your thing brotha and I'll keep watchinh:) thank you!
40 years later and I'm still learning from Roland Martin 🙌
My pet Bass 🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯I love it

I'm going to try this on shallow redfish. This seems more finesse than the weighted hooks I've been using which can spook them.

Roland actually does walk on water, he just doesn't like to show off. 🤣
Lmao 😂😂

Great video Roland!
Flukes are my favorite.
Thank u Roland!

"Be a line watcher." -Roland Martin
👌
Mr. Martin, as always, great knowledge dump to us! Much appreciated! Can you use a BFS baitcaster intead of a spinning outfit? Thanks again!
You can use a spinning rod, a baitcaster, or a spin caster for about any bait you want, they all do basically the same thing.
Thanks Roland
Awesome Roland! Thank you!
I knew Roland would give me good advice before I took the fluke out for the first time.
What's crackel lacking Rol??
Rol sure knows how to Bass fish!!!
Fish tanks are great for practicing rigs and techniques
Awesome video!
Great tip! Is there a reason you use a spinning outfit rather than a bait caster for this type fishing?
I love zoom super flukes there awesome
Enjoyed this
What brand of fluke style is the best to use ? Also great info and great video as always!
ZOOM makes the best fluke of all time, the first lure Roland was using was a zoom fluke.
Awesome! Thank You!
Awesome video
Learn something new every day!
Good master
Awesome
Love me a fluke. Twitch, twitch, BAM 💥💥I use a 50lb braid to a 15lb leader. Caught so many Bass this way.
My record for a day is 44 bass in a 7 hour on a 14 acre pond, how many do I need to catch? My record is 22 on one top water. I am always happy to bring home my limit of 6 per day. Do gar an catfish count
What's the name of the loop knot?
caught my first freshwater tarpon on double fluke 20 lb in a spillway epic fight from shore
Man i hope my love for fishing last longer than yours Roland...
Hey Roland, Hey
Giving them headwaters bass the day off? Letting they’re lips heal?
Senko my eye.
Is the fluke a clear water lure...where I am the water is MUDDY
What time year do you feel is the best time to use fluke?
He said the fall.
I tried Ro. Caught twice as many alright.
00.
I usually just get 0.
Bet that bass would have hit a senko rigged in the inurig. He has not seen that. Bass eat it up.
Ok bass no fluke for you!
Works so good it didnt catch a fish
You should have used a Senko
still learning from the master
Terrible camera awareness by everyone involved lol
