From my understanding Mr. Shatner made a movie a documentary and used to Leonard Nimoy. likeness without his Permission Leonard got really Upset and William shatner never apologized. So leonard never talked to william again.
That is what I remember as well. Shatner is so arrogant - and always has been so. He used to be my hero (50+ years ago) - today, he just makes me sad and disappointed.
@@the2012fad Never meet your Heroes,,,,,none of us are perfect i am sure he had done many good things in his life....The advice he gave on stage was a gift....Remember he is a actor not Cap Kirk
Shatner loves distorting the truth on stage. He writes in his book about the real reason he didn't go to the funeral: "It was made clear to me that I was not welcome at his funeral. That was painful. I had an easy excuse". The excuse being the charity event. It goes back to the falling out over the documentary, which Bill also acknowledged in his previous book. I think he actually forgot he put that info in his books.
Everyone seems to get angry with Shatner at one time or another, but he comes across as pretty good on stage. I guess there is a side to him that isnt that great.
Nimoy refused to participate in a documentary, and Shatner filmed him and/or included him anyway. Don't know if that's the only reason Nimoy stopped talking to Shatner, but it was one reason. He felt betrayed. And now the story changes? Now it's a mystery?
I believe there is much more to Shatner's documentary than the impermissible recording. That was probably the straw that broke Nimoy's back. Shatner is charismatic, cheerful and charming, but also narcissistic, egotistical and insecure. I guess Nimoy put up with it for many years, as long as the convention and movie business worked. Eventually he got fed up with him, and as Nimoy retired, he decided not to put up with him anymore since he didn't have to share his time with William Shatner. Shatner did not respect Nimoy, and Leonard pushed him away and did not forgive him.
actually there was one exception to Leonard not talking to Bill near the end. Bill and Leonard both did a car commercial together where Leonard spoke to Bill. Believe me, Leonard would never have chosen to do a car commercial with Bill at the end of his career if he was truly angry at Bill and wanted nothing to do with him! So that's proof that Leonard was not mad at Bill when he stopped speaking to him. Leonard no longer had to take every job offer that came along. The guy turned down a chance to direct and co star in Star Trek 7 for cryin outloud! If he could afford to turn down a major motion picture offer he never would have chosen to do a car commercial if he didn't have too. Also Leonard stopped speaking to his son as well. He was pissed off at both Bill and Adam and was giving both of them the cold shoulder ??? as Spock would say: "highly illogical."
That's not true about Adam Nimoy. See the film Leonard Nimoy's Boston where they are both featured or For the Love of Spock which Adam did after his death. That's not true about Adam Nimoy. Very very wise words

Still compelling!! Xx

There is a common denominator, and it’s Shatner. 🤷🏻♀️
From what I understand, Bill Shatner volunteered Lenard nimoy to do something that he did not want to do.and I think Lenard was very angry about it.

Is this part of his "If I say it enough times maybe people will believe me" tour?

What really happened is mister Shatner made a documentary and used Mr. Nemoys likeness without Mr. Nemoy's permission. Leonard wasn't very happy.

William Shatner said that he called Adam Nimoy and that Adam said that his dad had also stopped talking to him.
Shatner fell out with every actor but Kelley I believe of the Star Trek cast. Someone as self centered as Shatner is pretty impossible.
Nimoy was a smoker 🤮
So was Shatner so were many people. They all gave it up but Nimoy died 30 years later from it.
I mean, through the 80s and into the 90s, most adults unfortunately were or had once been.
