I LOVE YOU GUYS! 😘
We Canadians love three things
1. Beer
2. Hockey
3. and RUSH
lol
Cam Rocket you need to relax
You forgot Shawn Michaels!!
As an American, I like those things too!
As a canadian I can confirm
You have to also take into consideration that all that music and everything that's going on in the song comes from a 3 piece band... RUSH
was going to mention that. you beat me to it :)
yes yes! you need to see this live.
They had a session guy play the steel drums on this track
@@lightofday.dayofdarkness True, but Geddy was singing , playing bass and keyboards(not all at once) but still impressive.
Cellphone $500 bucks, headphones $100 bucks, listening to RUSH : "priceless" ;)
Rush is one of the Greatest Rock Bands ever. They have a wonderful catalog of music.
Correction..Rush is the greatest rock band ever.
It's a fact :)
@@Stratisfied22 In Your Opinion.
@@Stratisfied22 They are Great but not the best. Thats my opinion.
@@PcLover81 And I do respect your opinion sir. I am a tad biased :)
RUSH was Canadian & we are so proud of our boys!!! They were so multi-talented, creative, played multiple instruments, & created amazing riffs, that are still not matched today!!! RUSH purposefully, switched up the song in several areas, to give the listener a feeling of switching channels on a radio 😃
Welcome to the RUSH family, check out YYZ live in RIO
YYZ is the code for Toronto Airport...so they made an instrumental around the Morse code for YYZ.
Only now is the genius of Rush....3 nerds from Ontario....being appreciated by many many people who dismissed them for decades as just another rock band.
Agreed. Perfect vid for someone new to Rush. Great musicianship and the crowd was fire. (They had never played Brazil and didn't know they had such a fanbase there. That was the first time they had played there in 30 years, and the crowd was amazing.)
ruclips.net/video/1eSlvoO3Vw8/видео.html
Only 360p, but it seems the high-res ones have gotten taken down. This one is 9 years old with 2mil views, so they must not care as long as it's lower-res than the DVD.
Yes!!!!!!
The Exit Stage Left version from 1980 is better.
"One likes to believe in the freedom of music
But glittering prizes and endless compromises
Shatter the illusion of integrity"
Yeah they are masters of time signature changes...then they even throw in a bit of reggae style. Love them.
Glad to see today's youth enjoying what was created over 40 years ago. Many great songs from Rush to hear like "Vital Signs", "Lime Light", "The Camera Eye", "Tom Sawyer" "Working Man", "YYZ", "Xanadu", "Witch Hunt", "Red Barchetta", and more.
RUSH!! In my top 5 bands of all time! Good, no, GREAT call lady Pink. Thank you. Check out Tom Sawyer by Rush for sure. Watching you listen to this for the first time is like watching a chick hatch. Beautiful!
They have much better songs to react to than Tom Sawyer...
@@crazy224488yes, but for a noob it's essential
Most underated guitarist ever!!!😜
Yeah! Lifeson rules
Like someone posted on another page, it’s amazing that Lifeson is one of the greatest guitarists of all time and yet a strong case can be made he’s the third best musician in his own three piece band.
The look on your face... That moment of beautiful musical confusion at 4:31... Your "what the hell is going on face" was adorablably exquisit. Thank you.
🤣😊😊👍
RUSH is mindblowingly phantasmagorically supercalifragilisticexpialadociously AWESOME and then some!!!
From Canada with love ... Being a rush fan since my teens I love the fact that geddy and the boys are getting so much love ..keep up the great vids
Welcome to the world of Rush, Pink. I really think you're gonna dig em. Keep taking requests because you'll be blown away how diverse their music is. From their debut metal anthem "Working Man" to their bittersweet wall-of-sound swan song "The Garden". The latter quite possibly their most emotional one.
Only 3 guys making beautiful sounds. Amazing.
Cream, Budgie, etc. etc., etc
This was an awesome video for my birthday! Thanks, Pink! ❤️❤️🤘🤘 🤘
Happy birthday!! :)
@@PinkMetalHead Thanks so much!! ❤️❤️
Great to see a different generation than mine discovering one of the finest rock bands of all time. 3 guys from my hometown 👍
I loved watching your face react to the song those three gentlemen are true virtuosos. The crazy thing, is all that sound is literally three guys. Geddy Lee, principal writer, singer, bass player, producer and keyboardist is truly amazing.
La Villa Strangiato - Greatest Rock Instrumental ever composed
There's a 1981 live version that is incredible.
Rush would practice every day together and separate for hours before their performance that's what made them so awesome and flawless.
1. Working Man (Pittsburgh steelworker metal)
2. Tom Sawyer
3. 2112
4. Red Barchetta
5. XYZ
6. Limelight
....7 Bastille Day, although I think it deserves to be in the top three! One, 2112, two, working man, three, Bastille day.
Oouuh my, you got me girl..Rush👏👏👏 one of my favorite bands. "One likes to believe in the freedom of music". Thanks Mona 😘😘 from México
I loved seeing your smile get bigger as the song went on. Plenty more big smiles and "wow" moments as you dig deeper into Rush's catalogue. Great reaction!
I am stunned that this is your first rush song, start with their early work, working man,2112,anthem,closer to the heart
Rush has so many albums and songs, but variety is their thing. throughout time they've changed end evolved , and I love them all. Try WORHING MAN, FINDING MY WAY, FLY BY NIGHT, XANADU , then change it up to the 80,s with SUBDIVISIONS, LOSING IT, ENTRE NOUS, JACOB'S LADDER,, MANHATTAN PROJECT , 2112, etc. many more from that era. Then go through the 90"s up to their very recent final album . ENJOY.
Think you'd really enjoy "YYZ" by Rush
YYZ live in Rio
I like how this song has the sound of a radio in it. Cool riff too.
Thats the point!!! You got it!! The song is about scanning the stations on the radio and that certain song, or DJ's voice that grabs your attention. If you're still around, here's the 40th anniversary video version, where the neck of the guitar even looks like a radio dial ruclips.net/video/g_QtO0Rhp0w/видео.html
Giirrlll!!!!! I saw you reacted to Rush and I had to click. If you don't know, I'm their biggest (yes biggest) fan! I can give you an entire list IN ORDER of what songs to react to. Love your channel and love this reaction 😁👌
@TheSnoop2222 No, my name speaks for itself! Haha :)
Yer only 5 foot 4..in platforms.. Short arsed oompah lumpa.
The thing to remember is that Rush was around for around 40 years, and unlike many of their contemporaries, they continued to make new, different sounding music thru their entire career instead of just going on tour and playing the same handful of songs. You'll get about a kajillion requests for Tom Sawyer, pretty much their most popular song (even though I personally am not a fan of that one), and some others spanning the late seventies and early eighties, but that does no justice to their entire catalog. I'd recommend: Working Man; their two most popular instrumentals - YYZ and La Villa Strangiato; Limelight (IMO a much better song from the same album that gave the world Tom Sawyer); Manhattan Project or Mystic Rhythms; Dreamline or Ghost of a Chance; Nobody's Hero; Driven; and The Wreckers or The Garden from their final studio album, Clockwork Angels. Especially the latter two, the band went out on the perfect note.
Totally agree with you about Clockwork Angels. LOVE The Wreckers and The Anarchist.
Samuel Farro Tom Sawyer still fucking slays though.
If you like guitar La villa Strangiato would be a great call.
LIVE version!
Drums too.
I love Xanadu live from ESL but, prefer the Album La villa. I just feel like there is more dynamics. Though, there was a live version I liked I can’t remember which. I am pretty sure it wasn’t pink pop.
The Fountain...
@@TylerLL2112 ruclips.net/video/eK1hmDpa8bo/видео.html
I see people listing their favorites by Rush, so I will drop mine.
Naural Science.
I think mine has to be the 2-part Cygnus X-1 but your's is great as well.
Really an underappreciated gem. The "Wheels within wheels" bridge still gives me chills.
So glad you finally have begun your Rush journey! YYZ live in Rio is awesome!
Try Rush 2112. This a epic saga, Space travel, ancient societies, alien overlords, found artifacts and interstellar invasion abd domination...2112 will take you on a journey. RUSH were supreme musicians and set such a high standard for other rock bands.
This song makes you smile. The brilliance is within the lyrics. Nice reaction!
2112
Freewill
Working Man
Closer to the Heart
Tom Sawyer
Fly by Night
Entre Nous
Limelight
A. B. That too!
Bravado imo is a great change of pace
Cygus x-1 book II hemispheres
2112
Anthem
La villa strangiatto
YYZED
Don’t forget The Trees, Time Stand Still and Anthem
Rush is my personal favorite band, and knowing that you finally got a chance to check them out is really pleasant news to me 😀 I highly recommend you to react to the song YYZ live at Rock in Rio. I guarantee you it has one of the best concert crouds you're ever gonna see.
You are so right! That concert was amazing!!
Two things...Rush is awesome...and you are beautiful.
3rd thing: the name of this song is The Spirit of Radio
@@lightofday.dayofdarkness wow thanks Mr Obvious..who knew.........
Not PMH and however many thousands of people watch this without knowing better
Was introduced to Rush when I was in University and now it is my go to music when I want to listen to something and need to be productive or just want to listen to good music and not want to think about anything. Limelight, Subdivisions, Red Barcheta and Tom Sawyer are some of my other favorite tracks by them.
YYZ live in Brazil in 2002. Unreal footage. Hope you get to see that one. :)
Thanks for the reaction and review! This has flat out, been my favorite song for 30 plus years, and I love a ton of songs. The true genius of this song has unfolded for me over the years as I have learned the entire song is meant to be a stylistic journey up and down a radio dial. That's where all the genres get mixed in. I think of Alex's guitar riff as the "bright antennae bristling with the energy". When you hear the weird, rhythmic bursts, think of an old-fashioned car stereo with the push-button presets as the listener skips through short clips of different songs until they find the "groove" they love. Absolute genius, start to finish!
you were bristling with the energy
My favorite band and my favorite youtuber❤️❤️🎵🎶🎼
Great song to start listening to Rush! And I think you will enjoy this journey! Three of the most talented guys to ever play!
Rush - Subdivisions, Freewill, Red Barchetta, Driven, Test For Echo, La Villa Strangiato :)
@CouchGrouch I *love* that disc, pretty much every song is amazing. Test For Echo, Driven, Virtuality and Totem are my jams though.
@@bryansproles2879
Also Color Of Right and Half The World. Love those songs!
She gets it! Cool. Suggestion for next reaction: Xanadu Live - watching them perform it as you listen.
The exit stage left video of that performance is one of the greatest live recordings ever. Seeing them do what they do in that song is unbelievable.
Next Rush Song: “Xanadu”, Exit...Stage Left, Live (1981). You really need to see these THREE amazing musicians in action!
Excellent call. One of the very best.
@@NaturalMuscleSF, that's what I am saying! I just put another request for Xanadu live into the comments! She's GOT to see that performance. It's been 10 months since TSOR and I haven't see her do another Rush tune. Gotta get her following up!
Rush!
Always loved their bass guitar and drums. Tempo changes.
Example. The reggae vibe in one of the changes of this song. Brilliant!
Rush is all about virtuoso instrumentals and interesting lyrics. Early rush like Working Man has a very Black Sabbath sound to it, shortly after Xanadu is very rock, but then in the 80's they got more synth-y (which you've seen here). If you want more like Spirit of Radio, you want to listen to Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta , Distant Early Warning, Time Stand Still, Subdivisions. If you want more harder rock, you go with Limelight, Closer to the Heart, and YYZ. And if you want to totally trip out for 20 minutes and hear a sci-fi story, you listed to 2112.
Pink! You are adorable, and I'm so glad you like RUSH! :)
Limelight
Tom Sawyer
Working Man
Fly By Night
I mean the RUSH catalog is huge. :)
Limelight! Woooo!
Yes to all of this, but man, I’d really like someone do Fly By Night. It deserves a reaction by far.
Awesome! Looking beautiful as always! Love your representing and sharing real music babe! Keep up the good work
Loved your reaction, made my day! Rush is a happy band, no way to listen to them without getting/being happy. I've seen them live many times, and my face always is stuck in a permanent smile for days afterwards.
Progressive Rock at it's best! That's what Progressive Rock is! Takes you on a musical Rollercoaster! Neil PEART the dummer wrote all Rush's songs!🔥🔥
"all this machinery making modern music can still be open hearted"
How many songs are there about the joy of listening to the radio. One aspect that puts Rush in a league of their own is the intelligent and clever lyrics. That and the ass-kicking guitar solos and blistering drums.
Hi from Scotland, another side of Rush is a song called Different Strings, for me that song is very under rated,i am sure many people on here will know the song i mean.
Pink, you need to try driving down the road with this on and I guarantee you that you will find yourself doing 20 over the speed limit! Also, a great song to wake up to! I use it, along with Disturbed's "Rise", as alarm wakeup songs...long time Rush fan! Made me so happy to do Rush! Please do more!
This band is a top 5 band of all time...they make you ask the question ...how does that much sound come from 3 guys...seen them in concert 7 times...this band is so iconic...listen to that jam...best drummer of all time in my opinion...love the transitions....thank you for the reaction...check out the song Subdivisions or Limelight...or Tom Sawyer...you will not be disappointed....
Great review/reaction again - my favourite band, so thanks for welcoming them aboard. You are truly a gift.
Excellent choice from Canadian Rock Legends. Check limelight live next .
This song is about not selling out to corporate music, something the industry did a long time ago. "glittering prizes and endless compromises shatters the illusion of integrity". This has never been more true.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!
Rush rocks. Try "working man","freewill","yyz""2112"and"Tom Sawyer". Rush has a very unique sound and are just a three man band. Getty, Alex and Neil are all extremely talented love me some Rush.
RUSH, the 40 year journey.. They have so many songs in so many different styles.
"In The End" , "Tom Sawyer", or "Xanadu (Live)" are all good choices to try.
Excellent choice for first song! Next up, Tom Sawyer, Yyz Rio concert, Free Will, Red Barchetta.
Best songs for me are La Villa Strangiato and Xanadu, but I wouldnt tackle those at the start. You will appriciate them more later.
Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, Subdivisions!
SUBDIVISIONS Wooo
Just found your channel!! I absolutely love your reactions.
As a Canadian 🇨🇦 (Rush is Canadian) I would recommend the following 4 Rush songs for you to react to.
1) Tom Sawyer
2) closer to the heart
3) limelight
4) subdivisions
It’s so hard for people to wrap their heads around there’s only three people in the band that perform and write all their music
I would highly recommend watching the video and looking at the lyrics in order to get full appreciation of classic rock.
Did I mention I love your channel? If I didn’t I love your channel!!
Thanks for the video Pink.
Rush YYZ Live in RIO please and thank you
This was the first recording I ever heard by Rush, when it first came out, and I've liked them ever since. Watching your reaction is lovely.
" Glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity". One of my favorite lyrics from this great band!
Automatic thumbs up for PMH ❤
Great choice again!
"Xanadu" live from the Exit Stage Left video
"YYZ" live in Rio
"Working Man" studio version. Go back to their beginnings
"La Villa Strangiato". Musicianship beyond words
"Caravan" from their last album
You made all the same faces I do when I listen to this, except you looked a heck of a lot better doing it. Welcome to RUSH! You really seemed to get the whole time signature thing! You might want to check out two of their instrumentals: YYZ, and La Villa Strangiata.
Rush - YYZ live in Rio ... no other version stands up to this one ( listen to the crowd )
Permanent Waves tour was my first concert at 15 and I was blown away. Listen to some of the first two live albums, All the Worlds a Stage and Exit Stage Left, to get a real taste of just how good these guys are
Loved your reaction to the changes and transitions. Reminded me of how I felt when I first heard this song.
And your smile is gorgeous.
Check out “Working Man” by RUSH. Kick ace song from early in their career 🤙
….and don't forget to KRANK IT!!
You nailed it. Rush are technical as hell and smooth. They flow across time signatures. A band like Dream Theater doesn't. I love Dream Theater, but they are the definition of "choppy".
Great to see a person of color getting into rock!!!! Rock on, beautiful lady!!!!
Finally a RUSH song. You were my second (and fave) rx subscription so been waiting patiently! Nice. My name is from the drummer and lyricist of this band.
So much more to hear. I will make my own pitch for "Cygnus X-1" whenever you do another song by them. Thanks for the rx!
Time Stand Still
Closer to the Heart
Lakeside Park
Entre Nous
And so many more.....anything from Chronicles....enjoy the tunes sweetness....keep the reviews going!
Need more love for Signals and Fly By Night. Fly By Night is flipping hard as hell, mostly.
@@shack8110 I agree. I was just recommending lyrical songs that I like. I can rattle off many hard Rush tunes. I have seen them 34 times in my 52 year old life. Yes...I am a fan. Live on Rush. Their songs will never die!
The smile they brought to your face in the beginning says it all.
Love you.
Hey Pink! Just so you know, Rush only has 3 members. Neil Peart, best drummer in history, Alex Lifeson, one of the best guitarists, and Geddy Lee. Geddy Lee is the singer, bass player, and keyboardist, all at the same time. Arguably one of the best musicians in history. I don't know of any other musician who could pull that off. As for your next Rush song, you should try either YYZ or The Big Money
Rush, Closer to the heart
Yeah i recomend this tune too.also the trees or twilight zone would be great to see your reaction to these classic Rush tracks.
Rush is their own musical genre.
I'm 66 and know all your reaction songs. I've never out grown my early roots. You bring new life and heart to what ever you post. So grateful to have found you. Btw...Rush is very complex and worth your time.
You know, I have seen several of these reaction videos to RUSH, one of my favorite bands. It brings tears to my eyes to see people younger than myself and from different walks of life than myself really digging the sounds that these guys produce.
I have seen several of your react videos and I think this is the first one Ive seen you really groove to. Was cool to watch these cats still able to rock people all these years after the track was laid down. A testament to their skill. Thanks for the Video.
For more Rush, I definitely recommend the Live in Rio version of YYZ. Absolutely amazing.
Always great to see you introduced to good music. I used to play their albums till they wore out, replaced them with cassettes, then CDs and eventually digital. You can't go wrong with Rush. Also, I love how creative you are with your hair.
Rush are the kings of incredibly smooth, seamless transitions.
"One likes to believe in the freedom of music ... but glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity"
No truer words have been spoken
Three men having some of the finest arrangements in Rock history
U GO GIRL
This song always makes me feel so upbeat! It's like listening to Ferrel sing Happy. You have to smile!
1)YYZ LIVE IN RIO 2) WORKING MAN LIVE IN CLEVELAND 👍👍
Hey Mona. Loved your live feed the other night. I like how much you enjoyed the song. Rock on!
This is great! Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions. Limelight, and YYZ will all be great for reactions.
SUBDIVISIONS is my SONG the whole Signals album is AMAZING
The song is actually called The Spirit of Radio. Common mistake. Glad you enjoyed it. You must must must check out Xanadu live from the DVD, Exit Stage Left. This must must must be seen while listening to this song. You will have a whole new respect for them as musicians while watching them play this song. You won't be disappointed.
Yeah, and this is almost 40 years old....that's what a lot of people reacting to Rush need to also keep in mind. Just how ahead of their time Rush really was. I also agree with your earlier commenters....watch YYZ in Rio, several hundred thousand Brazilians doing a soccer stomp to the song will make the hair on your arms stand straight up!
Rush is awesome! Since I've Been Loving You LIVE and The Song Remains The Same/The Rain Song LIVE both by Zeppelin
Lol love Zeppelin also
That’s so cool you’ve gotten to some rush. I’m 31, I’ve been listening to rush sense I was 9 or 10 now. One thing about rush is, they sound so much better live than on the old records. The live performances just have more all around sound than the classic studio recording. So if you find anymore rush songs you like, go find a live version and you’ll automatically tell the difference
