Well Spain has joined the list and I tried it tonight first time. I had a tesla driver quite agitated that I was going to ruin my ID4.
The good thing is it didn't. However , the membership bit with the app hadn't gone through properly the night before so I was billed the full amount. The great thing is it works and if you don't want to twiddle your thumbs and count sheep , you can now use a 150kw supercharger to charge your id4

You should be made to pay a standing charge (1 euro per minute) in addition to the charging costs when you block 2 stalls and a Tesla or non-Tesla with the charge port on the correct (left side) is waiting. It's not Tesla's problem to start with, it's your problem. And 2 euro per minute if you don't move once charging is complete (same fee as others pay *per stall*).
This will make different people mad from their point of view, hence the pilot program. You are lucky to have access at all. Actually, I am happy it is opening as we also have a non-Tesla in our family and the governments in Europe appear to have done a terrible job with tax payers money to build EV infrastructure. So this is a temporary problem then no need for people to get too mad about...
Tesla should get government money for open charging infrastructure, then unlike other companies invest it back into making a better product for the customer as they usually do. Once tax payer money is part of the infrastructure, then yes you have a right to expect to charge on the "wrong" side. Until then, don't be surprised if somebody is mad at you blocking 2 stalls.
You probably get less stress from other customers at v2 Superchargers, as every Tesla owner should already know if they charge right next to another car they share the same/half power (hence the A and B stall number suffix).
I wouldn't be surprised if the Tesla app is updated to help as software is a quick and easy option. First feature needed is to reserve a stall and be advised based on your VIN number (= database of charge port location) which stall to use. Second feature, with respect only fair, is for other owners to report you are blocking their stall they have reserved. Your power is then turned off and you pay 2 euro per minute until you move.

It would be great to see what it’s like at a busier location - maybe with a good mix of cars - to see in reality how much of a problem the different charge port locations are. Maybe you could try and organise a group of drivers with non-Tesla with charge ports in the ‘wrong’ location to show that a line of them charging doesn’t really ‘block’ a stall.

The 'solution' is that a mix of Tesla's and non-Tesla's will come to these stations, some with charging on the right, some on the left but they will group together and therefore maximizing the usage of the location to say 80-90%. As long as there are enough chargers on each location (say 20-30) and enough charging locations, which is Tesla's goal I think, there will be more than enough chargers to keep everybody happy. And Tesla will make a lot of money. Remember, EV's are 80-90% of the times charged overnight so fast chargers are only needed for long distance trips unlike ICE vehicle which all need to go to a gas station to fill up. So I think there is no argument to say it's bad for non-Tesla's with ports on the right to charge at supercharger locations because they are blocking two stalls. Speaking as both a Tesla MS owner and a Porsche Taycan owner (charging right front, just as left rear on a Tesla).... BTW I think Ionity gets it all wrong with their 4 stall per location lunacy and 79 cents for drop in charging so I would very much welcome Tesla opening up all over Europe...

Left rear standardisation makes sense. Down the track, you might see Tesla supplying their skateboards to other OEMs and integrating their charging software into the bundle. There will be far more Teslas than non-Teslas in the global fleet and it doesn't make sense to re-do the entire charging network to accommodate the design preferences of the OEMs. If they want their customers to benefit from one of Teslas chief advantages, they should fall in line with Tesla's standards, not the other way around.

But they will lose potential sales because now they can buy a second hand ev or a new EV for half of the price of a tesla and still use the Supercharger network. And that's what he is saying, but like any other EV manufacturer out there. Most cars are atleast sold out till mid 2022..if not end 2023

@@EV.Furkan but u cud also say every other company is losing sales to Tesla because they make a great product. Everyone has a different reason for buying a product. Sure someone may buy a non Tesla now to use the SC system but think about the net new buyers who want a Tesla.

@@FeatureRequest I think you are correct all I am saying is some buyers, considering a none Tesla vehicle, might purchase a Tesla because of what they have heard about the great Supercharger network experience. Hopefully that experience continues moving forward and improves! I foresee owning at least one Tesla going forward, possibly two.

@@EV.Furkan my whole PT is basically sure Tesla will lose some sales due to this but they will also lose sales to other EV models just because people have different taste. Pointing it out is kind of pointless because it's not a fundamental risk. Tesla will keep on expanding the network regardless if someone thinks they may lose sales because the whole PT is to create an EV ecosystem/infrastructure that just simply works great. The demand for EVs is just crazy and there just isn't enough supply to meet demand. So the idea of losing sales is silly because if there are constant new net buyers of Tesla then the argument is wrong.

Maybe it would be easier in you stop whining and buy a Tesla.

You should use the furthest right spot not to block any charger. Just use your brain.
