    I've used Ivory soap for showering for 40 years now. No other soap seems as clean and fresh as Ivory. Doesn't make you smell like you're wearing cologne, makes you smell CLEAN.

    I use it every once in awhile just for nostalgic reasons. My aunt always bought Ivory back in the 60's & it reminds me of her old apt. upstairs in an old house and when I would visit, I remember taking baths as a small child in her old bathtub with the feet. Plus, I like that it floats. Use to put my little toys on top & float it around like a boat in the tub, lol.

    Been using this for years. I have eczema and used to bath with cereve and cetiphile soapless body washes, but they don't lather, And cost an arm and a leg. Ivory doesn't inflame my skin. It does dry me out a little bit buteven moisturizing soaps do that to me so I moisturize anyways.

I tried it for the first time since I was a kid yesterday. I was very impressed, especially considering the incredibly low price. Ivory has such a nice scent to it. It's a very basic, no frills soap, however it's surprisingly really good.

My Mom has continued to use it for years for bath & face, she has such soft skin &looks 10 years younger than her actual age just from using ivory & old fashioned ponds face cream... I've switched back to ivory & instead of ponds use Nivea cream, ponds breaks me out & my face is looking better than it has in years. I think our Moms really do know best.

    I started getting dry skin and all that, itchy, uncomfortable.
    Then I was told about Ivory soap and remembered my family had been using that exclusively. So I bought some, and I could smell the difference. I showered probably for like an hour scrubbing my body off, I never felt so clean and better from a shower in all my life.

When it gets too thin and small to hold in the shower, I let it dry and use it to mark on wood and other materials I have to saw. I am an elderly guy on a limited budget so I do not activate my electric water heater to save money as a result of this I have been known to go months without showering .Well I recently bought what is called a solar shower or camping shower which is just a plastic black bag with a sprinkler attached to it.You fill it up with water lay it out in the sun and it will get the water quite warm. I just used it today outside my house I can do so because I live out in the country with few neighbors .the amount of water is fairly Limited so I thought it important to get a soap which is pretty strong and will cut the grease and dirt pretty well. I figured that since Ivory is so old timey that it might do the trick better than new soaps since back then hot water was not so prevalent as it is today .well I just came back from doing it and I guess the result was pretty good I feel and look pretty clean in my estimation. anyway that's my slightly eccentric story LOL.

    Really fun fact about this soap, the modern bars in 2022 seem to have a logo that faintly persists for quite a long time, seemingly deep within the soap. I have a bar I keep my my sink for handwashing that's a couple weeks old now and the Ivory logo is still visible. The look of the bar up close also has an almost faintly marbled texture when wet. I think it's pretty neat, and if Ivory went into the decorative soap making business, they'd probably make a fortune.

      ᴋᴀʀᴀ 😌 Honestly asking a question without sarcasm is not rude at all, scum is the ring bar soap leaves behind in your bathtub, it’s because bar soap is made with tallow (animal fat) And it traps dead skin cells and dirt, Dove bars and liquid body washes do not leave tub rings... Zest used to be good but I haven’t used it in a long time.

He was buried and then rose again on the 3rd day and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. If you trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins then you will go to heaven and will have everlasting life. God Bless.

    I'm currently using a bar of this soap since I haven't used it in many years. I have to say that it barely has any fragrance to it at all and if I had known that I wouldn't have bought it. I mean sure, it does lather up just as good as most other bar soaps and it does clean very well too. But I honestly prefer a bar of soap with a stronger fragrance to it and ivory just doesn't have a strong enough fragrance for me to use it on a regular basis. I will finish using this bar of soap til it's used up and probably give the other bars away. Even jergens mild bar soap has a stronger fragrance than ivory. I must say I am disappointed with the smell of ivory soap, just not strong enough for me.

    • @rbrtck
      @rbrtck 3 года назад

      @@BarSoapGuy Yes, Kirk's "No Fragrance" Castile bar soap is a good option. It uses only coconut oil, as opposed to a combination of several fats and oils, to make the soap part, so as long as you're not allergic to that one oil, you should be fine. It also replaces the tetrasodium EDTA in Ivory with sodium gluconate. Both are chelating agents that bind with metallic minerals in hard water (which most people have) to keep the soap effective, and they are also preservatives. EDTA, however, is a petroleum-derived chemical irritant, while sodium gluconate has virtually zero toxicity to humans and is a more effective chelating agent, meaning that less is used. All of these amounts are very tiny, so for those with normal skin and immune response, they shouldn't be a problem, but for those who are extremely sensitive, this might make a big difference.
      Additionally, the "No Fragrance" version of Kirk's bar soap truly has no added fragrance and smells just very slightly of the coconut oil that is used to make the soap, while Ivory bar soap does have a small amount of fragrance added. Kirk's is also one of the least expensive Castile (as in based only on plant-derived ingredients) bar soaps, which is nice. I actually love Ivory bar soap and have used it for decades because it cleans well, is super-cheap, doesn't reek of heavy perfume, and is almost pure lye soap, as advertised, but for what it's worth, something like the Kirk's soap described here is definitely a bit better, especially for those with sensitive skin and/or allergies.
