I'm near Nashville, Tennessee, USA. I started listening to April Wine in the late 70s/80s in High School. I really like them. I've never looked it up, but they should be in America's Rock-n-Roll Hall Of Fame, with The Beatles, Elvis, Rolling Stones, Prince, Led Zeppelin, etc. April Wine is also American Rock History!
Saw April Wine here in Seattle at the Seattle Center Coliseum in the early '80s. They blew the roof off of the place. "Harder & Faster" on vinyl when i was learning to play guitar opened a million mathematical equations on the guitar neck for me - and it was Myles Goodwyn who blatantly and frankly insisted that the guitar is all mathematics. Babes In Arms, 21st Century Schizoid Man, Roller, I Like To Rock were each like mining for gold or diamonds as I would figure out note for note those songs. April Wine helped make Le Studio in Morin-Heights the studio legend that it has become.
Dave Cameron is a good man on all accounts. I know him. He is a best friend. April Wine just rocks. Good old fashioned rock n' roll. Hey Dave your head looks bigger on camera than it does in person. Cheers Dave!
Myles thank you for hanging out with me. At the grizzly Rose here in colorado. You opened for Winger. Had already met Winger band and seen them in concert several times.Thank you for hung out with us even in the rain. We all stood in the back of the hall just right outside the door. You and the band actually stood out there and talked with us for almost 45 minutes. Thanks for the good memory. And talking about the history of the band with us. 😎
so very proud of my favorite band they are so very awesome all the band members but one stands out above all because of his voice can not give him enough praise i love him so much myles goodwiyn
These guys should be in the rock and roll hall of fame not just the Canadian one there music is that good. I mean if Michael Jackson or Madonna are in there why cant a real under appreciated rock band get in there. These guys need to be recognized for what they have accomplished. One of the most underrated music groups ever.
When Brian Greenway joined the band, April Wine became the triple guitar attack, but also a more dynamic band with his vocals. To the point...they rocked the USA
Been my favorite band since the 70's. Been to so many shows and can't wait to see them in Ottawa at bluesfest this year :). Met Myles in Cambridge in the 80's (I believe Wilcox was playing there then) and he was very humble and down to earth. I met Jerry, Jim and Brian at the Key in Bala I believe in '94. I'll never forget tossing that football around as short lived as it was. I will always believe that had April Wine had better publicity they would've amassed far more hits. Everywhere I've gone in the world people have said April Wine is the most underrated band of all time and i can't count the number of people I've met along my path that have had found magic moments in some Wine song. For sure they should be in the American hall of fame. They stayed humble and true to their roots. Wish I was up there with ya's at bluesfest lol. Thank you for a lifetime of memories April Wine! R.I.P. Jim and Steve...
awesome to see these guys given the honors they deserve. I remember buying my 1st album of theirs in 1982, it made me want to run, race my car ,have sex and cheer all at the same time! How can ya not love April Wine?!
I remember and liked their hit "I wouldn't want to loose your love" back in the fall of 1974. Every time I hear it played it makes me wish I was only 15 again. April Wine have to one of the best Canadian bands around because a few years later in my travels I have heard their hit songs played on AM/FM radio stations as far away as New Zealand so that just goes to show that the band had incredible significance. However, we gotta hand it to the frontman of the band, Myles Goodwin who made it all happen.
They never forgot their Nova Scotia roots, i saw them twice in our small town of New Glasgow, one was the stand back tour, freakin' loud cannon, i was in front of it. You could stand right in front of the stage in the small hockey rink, speakers piled almost to the roof! I'm so glad i can say i saw it live. Think the first was 79, other summer 80 ?
Huge fan of April wine ...saw them live at "The Mad Mechanic" years ago , it was an underground parking garage turned into a huge bar ...back then there was a dress and drink code ..no bluejeans lol and a drink in front of you every 20 minutes ...hard to believe but true! 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
My friend in college saw them in America in the 70's. Remembered Jerry Mercer playing in a medieval executioner outfit! Blew his mind! He was a history major!
Well, hate to top you all, but I went to see them in Angrignon Park , probably around ‘72-‘73. They also did Lafontaine Park on the “Electric Jewels” tour. Powerhouse rockers that worked seriously hard , reaching for that “Star”. ROCK ON 🤘
"You Could Have Been a Lady" went to number 2. Beyond that they had a few at #5 and 6 - all ballads. Chicks make up half your Billboard voting base so it's rare to see hard rock tunes hit number one on the singles charts.
Brian was gracious enough to answer a question I asked on the April Wine Web site many years ago now. What kind of harmonica do you use ? I like the HOHNER Special 20 is the one I like most. That was awesome to me and I was also a big fan of his guitar playing and the songs he sang as well. Saw them twice in High school and then here at the Salt Air with Warrant. I must admit that I left after April Wine played. This was in Utah. April Wine is a much better band all the way round. Never cared for Hair Metal bands, where the guys wore more makeup than your Lady did. Hair was piled higher than your Lady as well. Lol ! Not for this old footstompin headbagin old rocker. ✌Cheers and Congratulations guy and ALL members past and present. 🍻
Wry does it take so long to recognize the very best in Canada...?? They should Have been inducted into the Canadian Hall Of Fame WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY before this!!!!!!
Great band, weird acceptance speech. Myles' band was dicked around by the recording industry, he should have used the speech to talk to the fans more. But good on them. Winos forever!
MY FRIENDS ASK ME WHAT IS THE WORST CONCERT YOU HAVE BEEN TO? I SAID APRIL WINE. NATURE OF THE BEAST TOUR IN LONDON ONTARIO. THEY ONLY PLAYED FOR 40 MINUTES AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM LIKE THEY WANTED TO BE THERE. I STILL SING THEIR TUNES BUT MAN WHAT A LET DOWN THAT SHOW WAS WHEN I WAS A KID

Had the pleasure in meeting Myles after a show in 2014. A stand up and who truly appreciated his fans.
This band is amazing....from a Georgia-born man.
Superb musicianship. Great rock and roll!
That’s my brother. He is still their number 1 fan.

Arguably one of the greatest Canadian bands of all times. Seen them in 2009 when i was 16 and enjoyed every bit of it
You can't have a better friend than Dave. Just rock on is all I say. Fly the Jolly Roger and sail on. See you in July!
They never forgot their Nova Scotia roots, i saw them twice in our small town of New Glasgow, one was the stand back tour, freakin' loud cannon, i was in front of it. Congratulations, April Wine.
Mercer's unique look was 20 years ahead of its time.
And he was so hot.

They should be in the hall of fame , not just the Canadian hall of fame !
About time!!!
I've always had a dream to play onstage with April Wine at least one song. A dream I'll never see :(.
Huge fan of April wine ...saw them live at "The Mad Mechanic" years ago , it was an underground parking garage turned into a huge bar ...back then there was a dress and drink code ..no bluejeans lol and a drink in front of you every 20 minutes ...hard to believe but true! 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦

Did April Wine never get a number one hit even on the Canadian charts? That seems so hard to believe
"You Could Have Been a Lady" went to number 2. Beyond that they had a few at #5 and 6 - all ballads. Chicks make up half your Billboard voting base so it's rare to see hard rock tunes hit number one on the singles charts.
they should have been in every hall of fame anywhere on the first day of eligibility..what a farce
OMG! Myles turned into Rex Murphy! :P
@mikeBISHOP94
