WOW. This was just 9 weeks ago. Myles was talking about seeing everyone one last time so he knew his end was near. And Jerry Mercer is still with us at the age of 84, and still looking great!! He was always such a beast on drums. 🐻🥁 R.I.P. Myles.
It's too bad though that they never made it into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and instead we have NWA and Ice Cube and Dolly Parton and Lionel Ritchie, but no April Wine. Shame.
I was thinking the same thing it's about time ..they deserved it way before this ..but I guess the old saying..good things come to those who wait .. RIP Myles 😢❤we love and miss you, rock on April Wine 🍷....
Total class by Myles to ensure that every current member got to speak, the Henman Bros. got invited on stage and every former member, dead or alive was also mentioned. RIP MG. I was with you for over 50 of those 54 years and loved every minute of it.
And a great canadian band at that.. Im from the US and have loved AP since the mid 70's, such an awesome catalog of music that helped shape my youth. So many memories made listening to April Wine...
Have you ever heard of Haywire? Haywire Band PEI.They are also another great rock and roll band from the Canadian east coast.Check 'em out! 🎸🎤🥁🎹🎸🔥👍Rest In Peace Myles 🎤 🎹 🎸 🔥✝️👍
Jerry Mercer was the perfect drummer for AW. A studied musician who played exactly what the song needed, with impeccable tempo and meter! Love these guys. Such a unique approach that set them apart from so many other bands.
Thank you April Wine for the countless rockers and ballads that shaped the soundscape of our Canadian airways for decades. RIP Myles Goodwyn! The fugitive who would rather give, and star forever shone.
I saw Myles and April Wine in the early 1970.s twice at the old barn, Halifax Forum. Many years later I was fortunate to see "the boys " at the Ingraham Hotel pub in Victoria. That was in the early 2000.s. Great guy and very generous with his time. RIP Myles, keep rocking in heaven.
Half the band is in heaven! No chance for a reunion now. Rest in peace Myles, time to hang up your guitar. Thank you so much April Wine, for the memories of meeting all of you, to learning and singing your songs, to being a HIGE fan.
Seen April Wine at the ‘98 Oakville Waterfront festival and they didn’t disappoint. So long Myles, you were one of the great songwriters and performers in Rock.👍✌️
Saw them at Martingrove Collegiate. Myles Goodwin struck me as "a man in his element" with a guitar in his hands. I loved Myles Goodwin and April Wine. Myles was the king of rock ballads.
I still remember them playing High School dances and then what we called Rink dances at a skating rink in Dartmouth during the summer in 1973. Every time they were here I tried to go to see them. I didn’t always make it , but I didn’t miss too many. R.I.P. Myles you and this extraordinary band were always a head of the times. You have been and always will be my favourite band! Prayers and love to the band, the family, and friends. Thank you Myles for the musical gifts you now leave behind to all of you fans!
I must have played April Wine Oowatanite and You Could Have Been A Lady 10,000 times each. Found an 8Track of AW at home. And my Records(LP's) I am sad we lost Myles Goodwyn. I am hurting. God Bless You Myles and April Wine. Hugs. Prayers. 😢Amen.🙏
So true! I never understood why such a great band like April Wine never got the recognition they deserved! Maybe it would have been different if they had been americans? Who knows? It was about time they were finally inducted! Very touching to see the former members,it was like a last family reunion! 💖 Myles Goodwyn had it all! Talent, charisma and passion of music! He was truly unique! The best tribute we can pay him is to keep April Wine's music alive! Rest in Rock sweet Myles, your true fans will never forget you....🥰
TDM - what an ass!! Myles had to ask him if he wants to speak with Brian and then Jerry has to almost grab the mic to say a few words. Well deserved honor for all members of April Wine, truly a Canadian treasure. As a young teenager in 1975, "Stand Back" was one of the first LPs I bought with my own money. Four songs from that LP were staples on AM radio in the mid 70s
Bad year for classic rockers, RIP Myles Goodwyn. Amazing voice and a great band. I like that they were acknowledged by this great honour before Myles passed on rather than posthumously.

What a loss!!!!!!! This band was playing when I met my now husband...love...love...love April Wine...RIP Myles...your legacy will live on...
I'm so happy he and April Wine received this honour before he left the world.
RIP Myles 🎶 🕊

Canadian Rock Hall is good enough as it's real rock music....not c'rap.
The RARHOF is a joke.Alex Lifeson summed it up in his acceptance speech and it was the best! 🤣
I was thinking the same thing it's about time ..they deserved it way before this ..but I guess the old saying..good things come to those who wait .. RIP Myles 😢❤we love and miss you, rock on April Wine 🍷....
@@mikehoskins56i totally agree 😮..they deserve it for sure ..❤
Awesome they had the Henmans come up and join as they were the original members.
Agreed sad & strange Gary wasn't there being that Ritchie came from montreal.....
I sure glad Myles got to see this before his passing, since my first time hearing April Wine in 1981, their music has always been some of my favorite.
Total class by Myles to ensure that every current member got to speak, the Henman Bros. got invited on stage and every former member, dead or alive was also mentioned. RIP MG. I was with you for over 50 of those 54 years and loved every minute of it.
I grew up with April Wine's music... Just an amazing band with different lineups.
And we, as Canadians, are proud to say April Wine is a Canadian band! RIP Myles....You will be missed.

How do you know he's in heaven....
Doubt it.....I pray he's in purgatory at least.
He knew he would never see most of these people again (2:35.) Rest in peace, Mr. Goodwyn. Thanks for the decades of great music.
Love ❤them!!!
Rest In Peace Myles✌🙏🎶🎸🇨🇦😔

How do you know they are in heaven?
Not everyone makes it to heaven...& most are in purgatory before heaven.
Rock n Roll heaven...well you know they got a hell of a band😊
They are out playing 2024

I loved Myles Goodwin and April Wine.
Myles was the king of rock ballads.
They did the high-school route like other Canadian bands in the 70s

So happy David, Ritchie and Jim Henman were part of this.
One of the greatest rock bands EVER!!! Never sought the international recognition but any of us who ever saw them knew it.

RIP. Don't know what got him 4 weeks later. 😔
RIP Myles
Don’t chew gum while inducting April Wine and God bless your pointy little head.
Canada's best musical export.
RIP Myles.
I think Jerry annoyed Myles even on that stage lol
Glass Tiger r u kidding??
Jeebus....That event looks so disorganised...and Terry David Mulligan could have gotten rid of his gum too. Good grief!
I love April wine since 77 I hope someday they get into the American Hall of Fame they deserve to be there.
