VUL, it a small HBCU in Virginia that is currently on probation by its' academic accreditation organization and it seems the young man on the football barely have equipment and hardly getting feed. RUclipsr Offscript did a few videos on them.
you mention in your video prep school football are common. just to let you know in my state (Florida). prep schools (post-grad football) like IMG are not common. i never new about this program growing up. high school coaches or maybe its the coaches i knew back then, they never mention it to anybody. to be fair, IMG athletic program started in 2013. before that, D1 and (NAIA) was your only option in Florida. you couldn't transfer like you can now (4 year to 4 year). what if you are a walk-on? if you are, you got lot of coins in your pocket to relocate? if you don't then good luck. One more thing, bishop sycamore scandals is not knew. do you remember North Carolina Tech Prep school from ESPN outside the lines?
@@xzzz444x9 i like him more personally I think he takes a much more personal approach to understanding stories. He'll often go deep into the lives of athletes coaches etc to give a lot of context on why things occurred they way the they did. often a very empathetic narrative
JJ McCarthy was a Chicago product from Nazareth Academy. He transfered to IMG for one season because Michigan wanted him to be more physically prepared for college. He had already signed a LOI when he was 16
If you want to look into another Bishop Sycamore type situation, there's Lincoln University (CA). For decades it was just another one of those business colleges that used visa loopholes and relied on foreign students to make money. Then they decided to start an athletics program in 2021. For football, they don't have a home stadium or adequate training facilities and to play as a traveling team (like Bishop Sycamore). They didn't have athletic trainers, some players got evicted from their apartments, and other players were on food stamps. That is better than having to resort to stealing food, I suppose. They make money by playing well... "money games" for D2 and FCS schools and have gone 3-33 (0-5 so far this season). Lincoln can avoid standards because they aren't part of any associations (NCAA, NAIA, etc.). So that's how they can have sub par facilities without getting into trouble. But as an accredited educational institution they are considered a "countable opponent" by the NCAA, despite not being an NCAA member. When it comes to Men's Basketball, they hired NGA great Gary Payton as head coach, presumably to make a splash. As you'd expect for an outfit like this, Payton ended up having to pay out of his own pocket for uniforms, sneakers, and meals during team travel. Just last month Payton ditched Lincoln and became the head coach at college of alameda, a junior college (likely uncoincidentally, that's where the Lincoln (CA) football team practices). www.usatoday.com/story/sports/2024/02/02/lincoln-university-football-oaklanders-face-disturbing-allegations/72320308007/ www.usatoday.com/story/sports/2024/02/02/how-football-teams-use-countable-opponent-status-to-get-fcs-games/72345005007/ global.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/41166128/sources-gary-payton-sr-new-basketball-coach-college-alameda
being from delaware, ohio, i worked in the grocery store that is adjacent to the hotel that all of the BSHS players lived in. this grocery store is where players sought food, and since my company of store had a strict non-intervention approach to shoplifting, they had more food that they couldve dreamt of. seeing this play out and having zero idea of what was happening in my little town become national sport news was wild. i truthfully hope that every player that was apart of this organization is (somewhat) on a better path now, just sad to witness.
yeeeeears ago, I was attending a D-II school with a respectable though not nationally prominent football team. they had a scheduling issue and filled the spot with a game hosting University of Faith. I actually live blogged a bit of the game for r/cfb from the stands. I even asked for the day off well in advance because I wanted to see one of these scam schools up close. it was hilarious. they weren’t wearing matching pants or socks 😭 my school’s team was pulling starters in the second quarter. I think they dropped over 50 points on that UOF team.
Someone should investigate and do a story on the RPA Wildcats that were located in Arlington Texas. A lot of similarities between them and Bishop Sycamore. The founder Reggie Calhoun basically abandoned it and somehow is now employed by Deion Sanders at the university of Colorado. 😮
4:15 Mass a lyn is how you pronounce it. This is funny my buddy has a joke about Massilion when he performs there and he says it just how you pronounced it lol
Massillon…..it is pronounced M-ASS-I-LON or Masslin….not Ma-Sillion. This is 2 video’s in a row that you’ve pronounced one of the most famous football towns in the USA wrong. Cmon! 🤣 Paul Brown was born & raised there, coached them until he went to Ohio State, then helped establish & lead the Cleveland Browns & Cincinnati Bengals organizations. One of the most famous original football towns in all of America & a next door neighbor to Canton, Ohio.
What topic should I cover next?

The fact that the coach had an active arrest warrant during the game is crazy.

Scammers 👎
Wouldn’t be surprised if one of the people behind this was one of those useless stinking POS from India
Scammers aren’t geniuses
"Running over a pack of geese" really got me.
Did you call them “universities”?

Kevin Hart is savage for that title.
These are high schools, not universities, though.
ok?
Anita Eaton is the athletic director......at "Bishop Sycamore."
How fitting that the school's initials were BS.
Flemlo Raps has done pretty good research on them
