And if you look at the numbers this has been the case for the past few years I have always said that for the past few years the sec has been extremely top heavy, outside of Georgia and Alabama has been incredibly mid, and at this point is really just coasting on reputation and brand recognition
Hating on any college team is what makes college football great. Watching an underdog come from no where and win is what also makes college football 🏈 great.
I'm glad the Hoosiers are having success and hope they win on Saturday. Good luck, Indiana! It's wonderful to see a long-suffering team and fanbase get to enjoy a 10-win season for the first time.
I went to Ohio during Rourke’s time there, when I heard he was leaving to play at a power 4 team I was beyond excited. Without a doubt he was the most exciting part of OU football, I hope his time at IU puts him on a NFL roster, I’d happily watch him play at any level.
I am a "Die Hard" IU fan....I only watch TV in the fall & winter....IU Football and IU Basketball. I would watch football and hope they would win....so many times, they would be close but, fall short....this year, they are much different.....I get so tired of the hate....it doesn't make any sense to me.....I watch their games objectively and don't find myself complaining about any of the calls.....IU shot themselves in the foot playing Michigan....that game could have been much different....IU had some chances to "distance" themselves...it didn't happen...Played one of their worst halves of football this season but, Michigan still couldn't beat them
C'mon man. The best scoring offense Indiana has faced is Maryland at #85. Second best is FIU at # 89. The rest of the teams are all ranked between #101 to #125. Additionally 6 of the teams they’ve played are in the bottom 6 of the B10. The rest of their schedule included: FIU, Western Illinois, and Charlotte. What are we doing?
Starting with UCLA everyone kept saying Indiana is going to get beat. My reply, “that’s why we play the game.” Armchair pundits would have Indiana 3 - 7 at his point.
I wish my once neighbor/friend IU Professor Emeritus 'Jumpshot' John Cooper were alive to see the stands full and those players playing so well as a team. He helped negotiate my year as the driver for the IU Big Red tractor&semi-trailer equipment truck for the away games in '92 under Coach Mallory.
I think that having at least 2 1 loss big ten schools make the cfp is a much more fair scenario than having 2 or likely 3 2 loss sec schools find a way into the cfp
this is so true my biggest hate in college football is when teams go undefeated and don't make the playoffs. in any other sport, you have to LOSE to not win the title. But so many teams get snubbed because they didn't play "good" team. 2023 Florida State 2023 Liberty 2018 UCF 2017 UCF 2016 Western Michigan 2009 TCU 2008 TCU and Boise State like 50 times! it's so annoying!
It's SEC bias. They have this thing where it's like if you're having a great season but if you're not in the SEC, then yeah people think that they are not good. Why does the SEC maters so much
People are stupid and would rather fall back on stereotypes and the past than using their eyes and actually watching the games. We beat Nebraska by 50. The apparently unbeatable Ohio State team nearly lost. What else are we supposed to do?
@42Sharp again, you almost lost to Nebraska. You're clearly worried, a Buckeye arguing with an IU fan? Isn't it beneath you as the college football royalty you are? We'll see this weekend clown.
@14:20 that was a good close: watch a game objectively; in that regard, IU's disciplined brand of football this year has been quite striking to see. Just from the general "football fan" outsider to the program, which is not one I really ever cheer for.
I didn’t know IU had any haters. People forget that, despite the weak schedule, the Hoosiers are a bottom feeder. One of the least successful college football teams of all time. They absolutely deserve to be a top 4 team until they go on a losing streak, which it doesn’t sound like they plan on doing.
Not to single out Notre Dame, but how many years have they been top 10 late in the season with schedules that look just like IU's? Nobody bats an eyelash at that. But you can't punish a school's ranking by using hypotheticals until they actually do something wrong.
Maybe they haven't played some big name teams, but beating everyone (except MI) with a 46 points a game average has to say something! So proud of my Hoosiers...it is good to see some positivity coming out of Bloomington in the fall season!
Do I believe Indiana is gonna win it all? No. DO I believe Indiana might give Ohio State a challenge? Yea. Maybe. Indiana showcase their offense is way my shocking and advanced then Ohio state because look at the team Ohio play that Indiana played: Ohio State vs Nebraska: 21-17 Indiana vs Nebraska: 56-7 Ohio State vs Michigan State: 38-7 Indiana vs Michigan State: 47-10 It's gonna be defense vs offense scenario. Do I believe Indiana gonna be in the playoffs? Yes. Might drop down to #10 or #9 spot after being beaten against Ohio state but Indiana is solid contender. Do I believe Indiana is gonna win BIG conference champ? No. Do I believe Indiana is gonna be good throughout remaining 2020s? Yea. At most they gonna be 8+ win program.
I mostly agree aside from one thing: I dont know who you've been talking too, but nobody outside of Pennsylvania is defending Penn State. People have been complaining about their ranking since BEFORE the Ohio State game, but now everyone is questioning them. We all want Penn State outside of the top 5, with some people wanting them out of the top 10 all together.
Thank you for calling this out. Texas' best win was to Vandy and nobody's talking about that, either. Ole Miss lost to unranked UK and low ranked LSU, but they're still in the CFP. IU is doing what they're supposed to do, and they should be rewarded for that.
If Michigan were 10-0 playing the same schedule as Indiana has played, they would be ranked #2. Your argument against 'brand names' is spot on; but regrettably it won't help. It is what it is. Last year two weeks from the final rankings, Washington was #7, despite being unbeaten. I hope the Hoosiers win out.
@@DrYankemAndPuIem That's the point!! Alabama list to Vandy, Miami lost to Georgia Tech, Tennessee lost to Arkansas....none were RANKED AND BEAT ALL THOSE HIGHLY RANKED TEAMS! HOW???? BET ON THE OTHER TEAMS? NAH JUST LOST.
The Sec on its worst day is still among the 2 best conferences in the land. And as nice of a story as this is for Indiana its not hate to say they've played a very weak schedule. They'll have a chance to play a real team in Ohio State.
I think outside of Nebraska, Indiana has the longest current streak in FBS for most consecutive losses against ranked opponents. There’s every reason to believe that their win total and ranking are a bit inflated. They deserve a top-10 ranking, but not top-five. Beat Ohio State and we’ll talk.
I'm not surprised. College Football is literally SEC bias. Why does it seem like a team can a good or great season but because they are not the damn SEC, they immediately think that you're not good. This is why I hate the SEC. Every year it's SEC this, SEC that like bruh I'm so sick and tired of hearing about the SEC most of the time. These other schools needs to start getting their credit and I'm glad that there's a 1w team college football playoffs because now everyone has a chance to get in and play for the national championship
No disrespect, but Indiana has only played one team that currently has a winning record (Washington). Im a Michigan State fan and was impressed with the team when we played them, but they are not a Top 5 team at this point based on that schedule. I do believe they should be in the playoff because they dominated the schedule they were given, but probably at a 11th or 12th seed. At one point of the video you tried comparing their schedule to Penn State, but thats totally wrong because Penn State has played at least 5 teams with winning records (Illinois, Bowling Green, Washington, Ohio State, Minnesota) so there schedule is a whole lot more competitive. If they beat or play a very competitive game against Ohio State I will change my viewpoint. Im not mad at Indiana because of there schedule, because a few years back Michigan State had a similar season and it was becsuse we had a great schedule. Good Luck to you guys and congrats on a great season.
Ill be honest, I was a hater on Indiana. Then I watched some of their games. Theyre good, but idk if theyre playoff worthy yet. Theyre definitely good enough to be ranked, but after the Michigan game, itll be hard for them to defeat this Ohio State team
I like your defense of the Hoosiers. I hope you showed that same energy last year about FSU not being in the playoffs. Otherwise it would be very ironic
Let's go!!!! I'm an Indiana fan and have gone to several games this year, I almost bought tickets to the OSU game. If the Hoosier's can pull that off I see them winning the championship as well. After I think the 3rd game I put 200 bucks on them to win the championship which would pay out 30 grand!!! I think everyone will change their tune on Indiana after that game, I can't wait😅
Go OSU!!! No one is hating on Indiana. They’re just criticizing their strength of schedule. They haven’t played a real physical team. With pro talent on both sides. OSU is running the ball angrily. Can beat you through the air too. Plus a running QB. Good luck.
Bruh the hate is insane. Teams like Indiana and Colorado wasn't even supposed to be good this season. Indiana has always been known as a basketball school and hasn't been good at football for a very very long time so the fact that Indiana is 10-0 in the first place is incredible. They basically overachieved. Nobody expected much from Indiana this season or really ever to be honest. Now all of sudden, when they are good, people always hate and say they are playing a "weak" schedule. Like what's up with the double standard
As a Bama fan I think Indiana should be ranked higher than any SEC team rn assuming they remain undefeated- however there is a huge double standard bc Army is also an undefeated team and they r not ranked in the top 12 - and if anybody says strength of schedule is why then that same argument should apply to Indiana bc of their weak schedule as opposed to SEC teams
As an Ohio State fan i hope Indiana does well in all games except against Ohio State. Having strong Big 10 is good for all teams, it gets attention of more recruits that otherwise might have gone to SEC and other conferences.
Who cares what people think about them if you’re an Indiana fan just enjoy the ride and embrace this team. They have a chance to build something special in Bloomington if cig stays and that’s all that matters.
The field was expanded to 12 to make sure Alabama always makes the playoffs. Doesn’t matter who you are if you beat everyone who is in front of you every week.
I respect Indiana this year. But, Penn state has played 4 teams with a winning record including 1 ranked - OSU who they lost in a semi-close game. Indiana has no such evidence. They've NOT played any team with a winning record - even all 3 G5 teams were losers. Obviously Indiana's done well with the schedule they've been handed. But, to get more respect from AP, CFR, and non-IU fans - they just need to provide better evidence.
It's just getting old hearing so much about Indiana and it's turnaround. We get it. And, while Indiana can't control it, their schedule has been weak. Were they in the SEC tell me they'd be undefeated. SEC is different.
sec is way too overrated tbh, outside of Texas NOBODY in that conference deserves to be in the CFP. Not Georgia, Not Bama, Not Ole Miss, Not Tennessee. We need teams like Boise State, Indiana, Army, SMU, Tulane, BYU, Miami, etc. to join Ohio St, Oregon, and Penn St
I noticed people running indiana down havent even seen them play. Stupid people think that just because they have never had a great season thats supposed to automaticaly carry over to the next season. They think that surely this cant be happening
The big 12 also gets a lot of hate!!! The big 12 has 10 teams with winning records and the same as the sec and the ranking has been padded with sec teams to make there schedules look better mizzou, LSU should not be ranked. Arizona state and Iowa state should be ranked ahead of them !!
Nobody ever likes the new guy on the scene. Well, tough. IU is 10 - 0 in the best conference in the country and they have one of the best coaches in the country - end of story.
I’m glad to see Indiana doing well. But the rankings talk is all bs, because the rankings themselves are bs. Talk is cheap. That’s why we play the games. Personally I hope Indiana kicks the shit out of Ohio State and even goes on to crush Oregon in the Big 10 championship. Alabama still in the hunt with 2 loses…. One of which was to Vandy? AYFKM?
Indiana would beat my LSU Tigers right now bc we’re a trash team in the SEC that isn’t even that impressive this year. 2 or 3 loss SEC Teams will make the playoffs of what they played on the schedule. SEC is the powerhouse conference for a reason but not this year anyway. Ohio ‘lil bro’ State is not that good & trash when it comes to the playoffs. Alabama beat my LSU Tigers badly. They belt some ass to them as well by 20 plus points. Indiana going 12-0, win the Big 10 championship & lose in the first round of the 12 Team playoffs. They’re a great team & should be recognized for being a top 10 team. 14-1 record after winning the Sugar Bowl or Cotton Bowl is still a great way to end their magical season. Best season since the 1967 Rose Bowl team.
And also say Notre Dame was in the SEC sure they may only have one loss but they lost it NIU if you put Niu are you against like how does that work? Indiana may not have played the people as
So tired of people throwing around the word "Hate" like it's nothing. STFU. Thinking Indiana is a good team but unproven is a 100% completely accurate take. We don't have to WORRY about it though because we'll find out soon enough how good Indiana actually is. As long as they don't get their doors blown off against Ohio State then they're fine. But their performance against Michigan was really telling. If they play that poorly against OSU they will get bodied. I live in Indiana and am a huge Notre Dame fan but I'm happy for the Hoosiers and the hype around them this year. That being said I'm not blindly fanboying over them. They need to show they can at least hang in there with the best before we start saying they're the best.

FINALLY SOMEONE IS NOT HATING ON INDIANA!!! I'm subbing
The SEC homers have been cancerous for college football for years now
Fun fact: the sec is 9-6 against non sec power 4 teams this year and a few group of 5 losses. The SEC is not the powerhouse they normally are
And if you look at the numbers this has been the case for the past few years I have always said that for the past few years the sec has been extremely top heavy, outside of Georgia and Alabama has been incredibly mid, and at this point is really just coasting on reputation and brand recognition
Texas Lsu Tennessee Ole Miss but sure buddy @@johndavis9321
@@johndavis9321 Yeah basically because the SEC homers and people out there only cares about the SEC only
Hating on any college team is what makes college football great. Watching an underdog come from no where and win is what also makes college football 🏈 great.
How could anyone hate the lovable losers of Indiana. As a fan of Michigan for 50 years I’ve seen some great games between the two.. 💯Respect 👍
Proud Ohioan! I'm rooting for INDIANA!
Hell, I’m a Purdue fan and I’m rooting for IU football.
Indiana's offense will expose OSU's defense just like Oregon did.
Get real.
Buddy what? 😂 OSU will expose Indiana so bad they’ll be unranked
You’re doing the Lord’s work with this one.
For all those idiots out there: If Indiana wasn’t a good team they would be 500 or lower right now even with the weak schedule
I'm an IU fan and last year when the schedule came out I picked us to be 3-9. Then Cignetti and the portal came along. I'm quite pleased right now.
@ Ya and were picked to be #17 in the conference standings. Beat OSU and Indiana finished no lower than #2.
great commentary!
Indiana should stay in the CFP even if they lose to Ohio State
Honestly it'll depend on the outcome, did we lose by 35 or 7 or 3. Imo that's what will make the difference. We win shit we golden.
I think that having at least 2 1 loss big ten schools make the cfp is a much more fair scenario than having 2 or likely 3 2 loss sec schools find a way into the cfp
I agree with this.
I agree but millions of people with throw a fit if 11-1 IU keeps out a 10-2 SEC team.
The game today proves why everyone was hating on them
is this targeted to my comment on your last vid about iu not playing anybody
I agree Scott Indiana and The Coach need more love..
Thank you for this video. My most “controversial” take is that Indiana should not be ranked below Penn State right now.
Depending on the result of IU and OSU game, that ranking will be corrected or justified.
this is so true my biggest hate in college football is when teams go undefeated and don't make the playoffs. in any other sport, you have to LOSE to not win the title. But so many teams get snubbed because they didn't play "good" team. 2023 Florida State 2023 Liberty 2018 UCF 2017 UCF 2016 Western Michigan 2009 TCU 2008 TCU and Boise State like 50 times! it's so annoying!
I’ve seen more people say that “everybody is saying they haven’t played anybody” than I’ve seen people actually saying that
It's SEC bias.
@@AceManning18 Allowed 24 to Northwestern Ohio State allowed 7 🤣
And norte Dame always lose big games by a lot
For real like this is the first time Indiana football has been good in a very very long time
Maybe they haven't played some big name teams, but beating everyone (except MI) with a 46 points a game average has to say something! So proud of my Hoosiers...it is good to see some positivity coming out of Bloomington in the fall season!
Do I believe Indiana is gonna win it all? No.
DO I believe Indiana might give Ohio State a challenge? Yea. Maybe. Indiana showcase their offense is way my shocking and advanced then Ohio state because look at the team Ohio play that Indiana played:
Ohio State vs Nebraska: 21-17
Indiana vs Nebraska: 56-7
Ohio State vs Michigan State: 38-7
Indiana vs Michigan State: 47-10
It's gonna be defense vs offense scenario.
Very true bro. Alabama lost to Vanderbilt also and barely escaped Georgiaagter blowing a 30-7 lead at halftime and also barely escaped South Carolina
They aren't in the top 5 now.
As a Penn State fan I believe Indiana would beat Penn State.
You guys suck any top 25 team could beat you guys
@DrYankemAndPuIem NOT Vandy or Georgia Tech!! Or even Arkansas!!
@@alanbrooke3237 none of them are ranked
@@DrYankemAndPuIem That's the point!! Alabama list to Vandy, Miami lost to Georgia Tech, Tennessee lost to Arkansas....none were RANKED AND BEAT ALL THOSE HIGHLY RANKED TEAMS! HOW???? BET ON THE OTHER TEAMS? NAH JUST LOST.
@@alanbrooke3237 yeah they have all improved since there loss but somehow Penn State seems to get worse
The Sec on its worst day is still among the 2 best conferences in the land. And as nice of a story as this is for Indiana its not hate to say they've played a very weak schedule. They'll have a chance to play a real team in Ohio State.
But people are sick and tired of hearing about the SEC most of the time
Oh yeah IU is super good because they haven’t played a single top 25 team
I think outside of Nebraska, Indiana has the longest current streak in FBS for most consecutive losses against ranked opponents. There’s every reason to believe that their win total and ranking are a bit inflated. They deserve a top-10 ranking, but not top-five. Beat Ohio State and we’ll talk.
No longer an DOOR MAT!
That’s why play the game.
I like your defense of the Hoosiers. I hope you showed that same energy last year about FSU not being in the playoffs. Otherwise it would be very ironic
I’m a Ohio state fan for over 50 years but Indiana will win over Ohio state and I have Indiana winning the Championship
Unpopular opinion: None of you have watched a single Indiana game😂😂
Read it in local newspaper& usa today highlights on cable tv espn news
They've been great to watch!!!
Go IU!
The field was expanded to 12 to make sure Alabama always makes the playoffs. Doesn’t matter who you are if you beat everyone who is in front of you every week.
And besides with the new 12 team college football playoff, everyone has a chance now to get in the playoffs
1st round game BAMA VS INDIANA... LETS SEE HOW THAT PLAYS OUT
sec is way too overrated tbh, outside of Texas NOBODY in that conference deserves to be in the CFP. Not Georgia, Not Bama, Not Ole Miss, Not Tennessee. We need teams like Boise State, Indiana, Army, SMU, Tulane, BYU, Miami, etc. to join Ohio St, Oregon, and Penn St
I'm from Indiana and are glad they are having a good season. I'm just not a fan of their sports.
I noticed people running indiana down havent even seen them play. Stupid people think that just because they have never had a great season thats supposed to automaticaly carry over to the next season. They think that surely this cant be happening
this is a relevant vid given there could be other Indianas due to the portal.
Yes. There’s no question now as to what is possible for a first year coach at ANY school in a major conference.
Sorry I will continue to hate. IU is good this year and I’m a Purdue fan so hate I must. It’s the only thing I have left this football season.
At least your honest.
I agree with Matt at least you're honest, even though Purdue is sucking I still hate them also😅 as an IU fan it's a must🤣
I don't see this year's team cracking I see this year's team actually giving Ohio State a game that they really don't want
This could be the Indiana version of the Bill Snyder K-State turnaround.
The big 12 also gets a lot of hate!!! The big 12 has 10 teams with winning records and the same as the sec and the ranking has been padded with sec teams to make there schedules look better mizzou, LSU should not be ranked. Arizona state and Iowa state should be ranked ahead of them !!
Speak the truth good takes
Nobody ever likes the new guy on the scene. Well, tough. IU is 10 - 0 in the best conference in the country and they have one of the best coaches in the country - end of story.
Ngl ur point with Penn state dosent rlly make sense cuz all sec fanboys hate on them too
If Indiana beats Ohio State, wait for the double take that happens when people start rooting for the Hoosiers.
I’m in a zoom class with Elijah Sarratt right now
he had a couple key drops against Michigan, Hoping for him to bounce back strong vs OSU!!!
AYFKM?
mattbegreat needs to watch this
Indiana is good they deserve to go so far
Hating is overkill afterall IU past and not beating a top 10 team matters but that will all be taken care of two Saturdays.
Besides Indiana football hasn't been good in a very very long time
Who's here after Ohio State beat Indiana 38-15
You cant please everyone.
Penn state has a flashy QB ?
Where??
Umm they have their chance this week. They’re undefeated and have a chance to knock of a top
5.
Do
or
die
They’re like the Washington Football Team of the CFB
Texas is rated ahead of Indiana. They've got one win over a ranked opponent.....
Who was it?
Michigan.
And Michigan is 5-5 I believe
What haters? Everyone wants Indiana to beat Ohio State. Except Ohio State. Once again, it’s Ohio Against the World.
I’m here for Indiana
