This is a fantastic video, both in content and format. PLEASE do more of these "explain the thought-process behind the tool" style videos. Too often, it is difficult to grasp the overall philosophy of a tool just by punching buttons and even some "basic" videos assume certain knowledge that a new user may not have.
Good stuff Dave. This is of great value for the smaller detailing outfit that doesn't have the capacity for a full time developer/coder on staff and has forgotten all of the coding (well, if you can call Logo/Pascal/Basic coding) they learned decades ago.
A page break on a report forces a new sheet to be used, rather than continuing the output to the bottom of the page. If a BOM starts to get too long for a sheet, you might want to consider how the object is built in the model and start to make "sub assemblies" ruclips.net/video/_3izQLN-_J8/видео.html Or you can create a stacked BOM with the "use columns" option in the row. There is a sample of this in the US imperial environment. It would take another video to explain how that works.
It has been a while since I have tried to do this - so there may be some improvements in the latest version of the template editor that I am not aware of. In my experience, we can do the current page - you need a page header type row, with the "PAGE" attribute - but it was not possible to get the total number of pages in the same header row.
You can include bolt counts and quantities; however Tekla does not assign piece marks to bolts the way it does to parts. It may be possible to customize the bom using if/then statements to display a mark or code in place of the bolt size, but this would be quite a bit of work and too much to explain in a youtube comment. I would recommend you contact your local support team. www.tekla.com/contact/offices-and-resellers
