I'm wondering, why Tekla is making things so complicated ? Users are not programers, and this way to adjust simple functions is more like programing, and knowing all that incredible folder and file structures is complicated thing. I'm working with Tekla 3+ years, but I this is just too complicated to remember what you showed here after some time. What does it mean for me DXK symbol path?- nothing! Would like to see in the future user friendly window dialog with adjustment options, just like in example Autocad or other software-where there is no need to enter manually code specific options.
I completely understand that feeling and I shared it when I first started using Tekla many years ago. Most of the Advanced Options that were only available through ini files were added to the File > Settings > Advanced Options menu a few years ago, but there are a few that need to be read at startup, and this remains an effective way to enable them. The nice thing is that for most average users if you set it up correctly it's not something you need to remember because it will carry forward to your future versions. Or if you don't know how something is done, someone from our Support can get you sorted.
Couldn't agree with you more, instead of spending all the time advertising tekla to look user friendly in demo videos lets spend some time "actually" making it user friendly.
I did this and now the .bmp logo i inserted to the template shows up perfectly in the drawing editor and prints fine through our plotter. However, when I print the drawing using the "pdf file" option in tekla to print the drawing as a PDF it does not show up. What do i need to change to get this to show up on the PDF prints?
I followed to the letter but still missing the logo in the drawings added the line to the user.ini, do I still need to put the path in the environment folder? "Error Opening file:TargetPoint.dwg"
That error indicates that the DXK_SYMBOLPATH variable is not set correctly (you'll likely see other missing things besides the logo). Double-check the format of the value in your user.ini or send it to your local support for them to take a look at.
I had the same error message and Tekla crashed. I just thought I make a comment as to what fixed it. Where you repeat the path with the % in front, there has to be a % in the back too. I didn't notice that, even though I double checked if I got the text right.
Nice video. I have small doubt in tekla. I did the drawings details with symbol manager. After that I exported the file to DWG file. While opening the DWG file some details will shown in Model space and some details will shown in Layout space of DWG file. This issue will lead to track the details while doing any editing work in DWG file. Is there any solution kindly share the detail
Don't do this unless you're really know what you are doing, once you messed up, I'll guaranteed you, your program will stop working and you will call them for a technical support. You might encounter these "Error Opening file:TargetPoint.dwg Error code 0" so hoping before you do anything think twice. David Haddemen I watched every video that you have but this is the only video that you made that I don't really trust, I'm so sorry but don't worry I'm still a fan of you. :-)

Gold gold gold thank you very much

Can you get anymore complicated? I’m spending more time programming than I am modeling. You should be able to click the template and add something.
