When people argue that Kmart's demise was before Lampert, I often point out that even after their 2002/2003 bankruptcy closures, they still had approximately 1,800 stores, around what Target has today, meaning they had the opportunity to rebound if investment in those stores had been done, instead of trying to milk the company dry as Lampert did.

I've never understood why people use empty / abandoned retail as a dumping ground for their trash.
It's convenient, and little to no witnesses. I actually saw a guy dumping trash at one of the Kmart's right as I was filming, and after the confrontation with me, I erased the video- it got pretty heated. Sadly, that Kmart building is gone now, so I should have just uploaded it.
You can see how fast an abandoned place deteriorates since there is no upkeep
Your pretty brave that is a crappy part of town. People get robbed in day light at Walmart across the street. We bought a patio set from this K mart several years ago. The inside cashier was mad the outside garden lady went on break without telling her. People were carrying merchandise out left and right.

Nate, 8:19, ontop of the "service center" label scar, there are 5 metal poles. Those were actually the poles where it would hold up the old " K m a r t" letters on it.

My childhood Kmart closed in December 2014, but the Kmart sign in front of the shopping center near the traffic light remains standing to this day! At Home moved into the building in 2016, but the sign wasn't touched. It's blacked out. See the picture I posted on the WallieB26 & Friends Facebook page
Very nice! I liked this! I agree that people have no respect for things that don't belong to them. Kmart has suffered enough, it doesn't need people going to destroy it more than it already is. I love and miss Kmart so much. Our Kmart in Manistee had a K Express as well and what's funnier is McDonalds is right next door, sort of like the one is in this video.

They probably hadn’t painted over the gas station because they might want to let you know a Kmart was here they kept the inside Kmart sign up in Gautier ms which closed in 2002 and is now a flea market and floor trader which floor trader moved

Those "holes" in the garage doors of the Service Center aren't after hour drop boxes for keys. They are to let exhaust fumes out of the building when the doors are closed!
my ex worked there years ago when i dated her and that was when the service station still was open closer to the street in 2002

Cool video! Diebould was a lock and safe company wouldn't have been on the building. The holes for keys 😂 this was used to port exhaust outside when the doors were closed in cold weather. A hose was connected to your tailpipe and put in that hole.
It's sad to see such a large building with nothing there. Ours closed a couple years ago and just reopened with AT HOME and HOBBY LOBBY moving in.

I was in Goodlettsville, TN last week and there was an abandoned Kmart near the hotel where I was staying, right off of I-65.
My very first job was at Kmart and I loved it.
Long before Wal-Mart came to town and before the Big K.

Nate...has anyone mentioned a lot of motion blur on several of your recent videos when you pan left to right and back?...such as when you filmed the front of this abandoned K-Mart...at first I thought it might be my TV settings, because I often watch your videos using the RUclips app on my Roku...but when I watched this same video at the RUclips web page on my Windows 10 PC, I get the same thing...didn't use to see that

Ironic the restrooms are out of order. Interesting the pump machines weren't removed though the pump nozzle was removed. It's sad that Kmart Express failed
Reportedly, the EPA required them to change out their tanks, so Fast Eddie decided to shut them all down, instead of spending the money to upgrade- somehow I actually believe that given how cheap the guy was with Kmart!

I hate seeing abandoned Kmart buildings my old Kmart building is abandoned as right now it is just sitting vacant for now which city of beckley west Virginia is know to get new business which it will be probably be a next year before anyone can came to beckley as aldis and planet fitness opened this year I don't know why beckley only lets one or two business come a year
