  • An extremely hot day at Silverstone, but fantastic vintage racing. Having Qualified 4th on the grid with a tricky practice session and overheating tyres, I made my usual handicapped (one back wheel) start and dropped back a few places. I gradually fought my way back to an eventual 3rd place, having had a fantastic battle with GN / Nash "piglet" and a rather potent Wolseley Hornet over the first few laps.

    I've got a Grinnall Scorpion and I know what it feels like when you lift the front wheel in a tight corner, and although I use hand controls for brake throttle and clutch - paraplegic, you still look like you're a lot busier than me in the seat, let alone planning your next overtaking manoeuvre and checking on other drivers. I'm so so glad you keep this on the track.

    Sounding so much better than your run at Cadwell!!! Which was fantastic to watch by the way. I love your tacho ornament floating around in the breeze.

    Great race mate! 👍🥃🥃 What I’d like to see, is some footage from the sidelines, of you racing your lovely Morgan. 🙏🏻👍😁 and also a walk around and some info on it? Thanks for posting. I love this era in racing history. The machines really show the brilliance and inventiveness of their designers.

      I second that ! Love the race from the cockpit but also a walk around and info would add to the Sofa riding experience 👍😁

    Brilliant!
    Can you do a walk-around video of your beast please, together with a what's-what re the 'steam gauges' etc; the more details, the better?

    What a big, wide, open circuit for such a small car. You must have felt like a fly on a dinner plate!

    That was great, my dad would have loved it, he had a couple of Morgan 3-wheeler road cars when he was a young man in the 40s/50s. I always wondered what it was like to be in one. I guess they were not as fast as this but he said he often did 80mph on the road when out with his mate on a motorbike. That looks like an incredibly raw, intense way to race.

    Wow! That got my adrenaline flowing, just sitting on the sofa! I had a '34 Supersports about 40 years ago, but I never got it going like that. Great driving, great video, well done and thanks for posting.

    Beautiful machine, driving, and race! About how much power are you making and what is top speed on straights? Looks like you are MOOVING!

    Actually.... it's really good...yes you do with some more cameras...or better placed...but the action inside the cockpit and feeling is there...
    I feel too, that you could go faster...still...
    Well done..

    I'm really getting into this ! In modern racing if a manufacturer produces a fast well handling car other teams complain and penalties and restrictions added . Dude you only have 3 wheels and sometimes only use 2 of them in your quest for race honours ! It's exciting to watch so your adrenaline must be on overload , you get to feel how it was back in the day . Wait .. so time travel is real and it's not via a Delorean 🤣

    I feel stupid, are you pumping up the gas tank?

    • @shanehnorman
      @shanehnorman 2 года назад +2

      There's no fuel pump. Petrol has to be pumped into a header tank that then feeds the carb. Our hero's kept so busy just holding at least two wheels on the road that he forgets, sometimes, to pump and the engine dies on a corner.
