    I hope the 3.5" class becomes a thing. Most of the fun of a 5" but more compact and easily under 250g. Being so light they are less prone to breaks in crashes.

    I was condiering this against the Emax babyhawk 2 HD. In the end I went for the latter, not only because I don't like the nano camera too much, but because the babyhawk looked sturdier to me. I have a geprc phantom HD and I had already two bad experiences with the caddx unit striking the fc during crashes, and in this one the mounting is similar. Hopefully the Smart frame won't bend as much as the Phantom, but still, I preferred the way the Babyhawk 2 placed those two components.

    Hi Mr.P First I would like to say, I'm wanting one. I just happen to really love 3in. to 4in. I see the Caddx Ratel V2 is being used , Great camera, and 600mw is a good size for a 3.5in. Now for the 1408 3850ma to me is small and the kv. Seems high. But could be good for the Avon 3.5in. Props. I use anything from 1105 5500kv 3in, 3s. to 2004 3000kv 3in, 3s and others, I have had some fun flying all of them. I have some that are 6s 3in and those are insane. I one little thing, as long as I have been flying, I have never spent over $170 for a 3in. But it's inflation all-over. That's why I'm building my own now. Thanks again for the video and information. And have a great weekend.

    this is more favored than the emax version which is only for digital. hmm, very tempting, but i like the flight characteristics and flight times.

    Is there much of a difference between these props and 4’’ ? Could one mount some 4’’?

    Nice review. Really interested in the 3.5" size, especially for DJI builds that are a little heavier. I just don't understand why it's so hard to design a quad with the dang props out of view? Just move the freaking arms back a little or the nose out a little. FFS

      This is why I am a fan of the more 'dead-cat' frame layouts. Perfect for clear FPV..

      Babyhwak 2 hd? No props in view

    • @flipfpv
      @flipfpv 3 года назад

      @@chrisbee5481 Yeah, that's an option if you want a BNF. One of my flying buddies has one and likes it but he says it flies a little weird compared to his other quads. That aside, the price of this frame is pretty high for a micro and it also integrates the vista (with heatsinks) into the frame construction as part of the rear standoffs, so no naked vista option. I just got an Armattan Tadpole HD frame to try, which also has no props in view, so I'm hoping it will check all of the boxes.

    Lee i have watched the trend of micro longrange quadcopters and have always stayed away from building just for longrange i have r9 setup but dont want to lose a quad but the tech is perfect to build into a micro wing or motor glider with ardupilot or inav will this be where we go next

    Looks like a copy of the babyhawk II HD, except the babyhawk can fly longer on smaller batteries. Also no props in view with babyhawk. Great review, just not impressed
