    My mind was made up immediately when you mentioned this GepRC doesn't use the Caddx Nebula Pro camera. That's a deal breaker, IMO, because the non-Pro camera is not close in image quality to the Pro that comes on the Babyhawk 2 HD.
    I also don't like the GepRC frame as well, the mounting of everything on top of each other, meeting in the middle with barely any space between them - UGH! Also the flexing and possibly touching of those components when crashing on the battery, is not a good thing! You're right, the GepRC doesn't look as durable either.
    You'll be happy to know that my Babyhawk 2 HD came with the battery lead zip ties down from Emax! Good to see them add that! With it in my hands, I can see the build quality of the Babyhawk 2 HD is absolutely superb! Some really nice design choices that make it pretty special... i.e. the way the antenna is mounted, the extra carbon fiber plate used for not only the antenna but for extra support for the Caddx Vista stack. I see the frame as being a definite advantage of the Babyhawk 2 HD also. Easier to work on because the AIO FC is not mounted directly below the Caddx Vista, so easy to see and work on. When carefully examining the Babyhawk 2 HD you can see design features that lend me to believe that Emax did take over 2 years designing it. Build quality and parts quality is a definite 10 out of 10. Really easy to see the quality and thought put into it when it's in your own hands. The frame is gorgeous!
    From looking at the GepRC, it shows they through this together to get something out to compete with Emax, with none of the superb designs Emax used.
    When you buy the Crossfire version like I did, the attention to detail is even more evident by the placement of the nano receiver and the superb job done mounting the mini immortal T antenna! Sweet! 😀
    The GepRC weighs more even though they are using the Caddx Nebula Nano lighter camera! That camera is THE end point of interest in the GepRC for me, and honestly, should be for all of you too! That camera is known to be not even close to the quality of the Nebula Pro. 😩
    I see no reason to get stuck with that crumby camera.
    The GepRC frame isn't as nice or durable in appearance, the mounting of the stack shows none of the great design Emax used, and again, the whole quad is heavier even though they used the crumby camera!
    I'm sure glad I got the Emax Babyhawk 2 HD, because there's no comparison at all in any of the features we can possibly compare... the Emax is designed with so much more thought involved its not close!
    Even Nick said it also is faster too! I have found that when a company comes out with a rave reviewed product, the copies almost always aren't close to the original in design and component quality... AND THE GepRC Costs More Too! 😳😢
    Very happy I bought the Emax! That camera GepRC used is definitely the DEAL BREAKER!
    I'm so surprised they used it too, because it seems none of the quads that use that crumby camera are good sellers... I see everyone of those quads using this camera always in stock - Everywhere!
    Some are already on Clearance! Where quads using the Nebula Pro are constantly sold out! Geprc blew it!!! 🤔😕😞

      Biggest issue i've come accross with emax is lack of support and also they make there drones incompatible with different parts. To fix an emax 90% of the time requires emax parts that are absurdly costly. I do like your write up though, very informative opinion on the two competitors!

      @@PLAT515 You are exactly right! proprietary parts on all of the micro quads! I've never bought one of those. But, the older and also superb Hawk5 and this Babyhawk 2 HD don't use any proprietary parts at all! And, besides the excellent design I wrote about, that's the reason Emax got my money once again!

I'm not worried about flight skill. I'm lost with the tech. It is like 1000x more complex than rc airplanes! OMG. I wish someone just had a ready to go FPV HD in box setup. I have 21 acres of private land to fly around on. (three private homes, private road, private pond, woods, paths). This would be so much fun!

      @doccock100 3 месяца назад +1

      Hi there. You can get things exactly like this out the box. All you have to do is decide how much you want to spend. I believe the sweet spot is
      1. Second hand DJI V2 goggles - run latest firmware and you can bind to different DJI systems (you can get goggles 2 from DJI)
      2. Bind and fly quad copter of your choosing (with the DJI O3 air unit in it)
      3. Get the DJI controller 2 for ease of binding it all together. You will need to take the centering spring off the throttle.
      The Controller 2 will bind to the quadcopter and the goggles. You will spend about 2h watching Joshua Bardwell videos to get it to work.
      It is amazing and my life has not been the same since enjoying the world through the eyes of FPV. I have land like you and it is more fun than I have had with my private aircraft and expensive cars.

      I agree, I do not like how the Nebula looks when looking at trees.

    • @noforyoutubepremium3108
      @noforyoutubepremium3108 3 года назад +1

      @@mikelewis2269 The frame is exceptionally well done. It's cut really nice and the edges are very precise and not rough like cheap frames sometimes are. The little carbon fiber plate the helps support both the Caddx Vista and the Rush antenna is a really nice design feature. I has a little cutout for the antenna. Mine has the Crossfire receiver with a mini Immortal T antenna that is mounted in a super good spot and really looks professionally done and designed to fit exactly there. I love how the Caddx Vista is mounted from the top plate, but it's not directly over the AIO FC, it's behind it which allows the AIO FC to be completely open with nothing above it but the capacitor. I gues the back tip of the triangle shaped board is slightly under the front of the Caddx Vista, but all else is very open to get to. If I wanted to solder a component to it there's a chance I could do it without even taking off the top plate. It's just so much more well designed than the GepRC quad. It looks like they took a frame from something else that would just happen to also fit 3.5" props and used it. Nothing special or unique about this GepRC frame in the least bit.
      Each of the motors have just a slight bit of extra carbon fiber on EACH side of the motor to give it just a little extra motor protection without it actually being a big point that sticks out, like many frames protect it's motors. The top plate has just the right sized hole in it for the XT30 to come up through. It also has two little bumps the go out to the right and left that have small holes in them to add an external camera mount for a GoPro or whatever you want to secure there. A nice touch!
      Nick mentions how co0ol the clear plastic insert is to protect the bottom of the AIO FC from water damage. Very thoughtful, yet extremely lightweight! The top plate also has a little extension built into the very back of it so the Rush antenna also clips into it to protect and support it.
      There are 3D printed sleeves that go over the front standoffs. These offer the holes for the Caddx Nebula Pro camera to mount there. At the very bottom of those 3D printed sleeves are a triangular shaped bulge that protrudes out to be the furthest most part of the entire quad. These offer extra protection for the Nebula Pro camera. Instead of the camera sitting out there in No Mans Land ready to take a direct hit in a crash, like the GepRC has, Emax has thought this through and those are a subtle, but nice design to protect the camera in a head on crash. The top plate also has a similar shaped protrusion so you end up with 4 of these, two top and two on the bottom to give four points to protect your camera really from a crash from any angle to the front.
      The motor wires are soldered very professionally with nice shiny balls of solder. As perfect as I've ever seen! It's the way they routed the wires that's nice though...They go neatly down the arms, coming into the middle of the quad and go in towards the center of the AIO FC, and then are swung back from the middle and get soldered on. So, the wires aren't hanging off the AIO FC, they are coming in from the middle of the AIO FC and soldered from there. A nice, tidy touch. Each of the arms has a small, and again tidy, piece of that black fabric Emax tape (that Nick loves so much!) that holds the wires snug to the very thin arm.
      Emax mounted the Crossfire Nano Receiver perfectly between the Caddx Vista and the capacitor, like they planned that precise space just for it to sit exactly there.
      IMO, I honestly do not think Emax could have designed the Babyhawk 2 HD, as a whole - everything about it - any better! So much attention to detail is taken. I can see why they advertise that it took them over 2 years to develop the final version of the Babyhawk 2 HD. Even the battery lead, which on Nick's early review quad, wasn't zip tied down...is now zip tied down from the factory.
      I've seen a ton of quads over my 4.5 years in this hobby. This Emax quad is one of the nicest, most polished designs I have ever encountered. I'm really glad I bought it. Sure, it's out of stock at most shops, but it is worth the wait! I got mine at GetFPV a couple of weeks ago, so they might still have them...

    So... they straight-up copied the design of the EMAX Babyhawk II HD? The Babyhawk II HD at least comes with the Nebula Pro camera, and I suspect that the frame baseplate/arms are stronger as well. On the flip side, it appears that GEPRC is actually completing the construction of the quad if you opt for DJI, as EMAX doesn't finish soldering the necessary connections from the AIO FC to the Caddx Vista. Same props, both have 1404 motors with very similar KV, and extremely similar frame design...

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      I actually recommend getting something like a whoop, mobula 6, mobula 7, NewBeeDrone Acrobee etc. These are good safe and small quads. We can fly them inside if we want to or during bad weather days, or take them outside. Very seasoned "professional" pilots fly these types of quads. IMHO much better for starting than something that has so much power and weight, which both contribute to the possibility of damage or harm.

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      I haven't flown a 5 inch in years. With that, pretty much anything over 2inch tends to create a fair bit of noise. The most quiet are the super light micros running 40mm props or 3inch biblades on 1s or 2s, even with that when we get to 4s the noise really starts back up again. The avan props tend to lean towards the less noisy side.

      There is much to learn with quad/fpv. So much so its hard to advise where to start. Likely first leave off the props, download the betaflight configurator app to your computer, plug in the quad via usb and with the betaflight configuration app. This will start the journey, learning what switch is set to arm the quad, the flight modes etc, don't change anything only look and learn. Hopefully as it sounds as though you bought a package it is all bound with the radio to the quad, and the quad video to the goggles. If not that would be the next steps.
