I used to fancy Ronald Allen when he was in Compact when he was in his early 30’s. Very handsome. He aged quick - a smoker I think. His partner was in crossroads - a man called Brian Hankins. He died of cancer in 1978. When Allen was stricken with cancer himself he married his old friend Sue Lloyd so she could inherit his estate without taxation.
I fancied Ronald Allen too, he was my first crush. Very handsome man, died way too young. He and his real life wife Sue Lloyd are laid to rest together in Somerset.
Well "Mike" @ the fan club asked why they were not on Vol2 'Feb 08' DVD and it seems they'd been "lost" in the ITC Archive. Thankfully due to someone at ITV listening to Mike they went and hunted them out, which also lead to all the film inserts being found such as the 1967 Tunisia footage. These 2 episodes should be on a future Network DVD hopefully.
Obviously some of these clips are from episodes STILL missing from the ITC library. Also the episodes which was a 'two hander' (with flasback clips) where Sheila Harvey is also still missing, which wasn't in 1988 when a clip featured in This Is Your Life.
ITV are currently trying to locate where they originally came from seems since 1988 they've 'vanished' - although one possibility is they're from ATV Today, however ATV Today was broadcasting colour and the film would have been colour inserts for that show by then so its unlikely from ATV Today. Possibly Seven Network telerecordings who were showing it from 1972 onwards, and will be somewhere in the ITC/ATV Film Library.
Thank you so many faces takes me back ahhh golden days

We used to find David Hunter character so funny due to being so wooden. Our kid called him the John Collier dummy.
