- What inspired the ghosts and demons of Ghostbusters? This analysis explores how the creators came up with the inventive creatures of the original 1984 ghostbusters film including their creative process and the ancient religious writings that inspired the demon Gozer! Believe it or not, the film tapped into ancient Babylonian, Sumerian and Biblical ideas to flesh out these ghostly creatures! Watch the video to find out more about the creation of these iconic Ghostbusters characters. Which creature was your favorite? Ironically, our favorite wasn't the most famous Ghostbusters creature. We didn't pick Slimer! Leave a comment and let us know what your favorite was.

5:27 The cartoon answered that question, Egon says Slimer is important to science because he's the only ghost willing to sit down and let Egon study him.
Thank you your Highness. I watched the cartoons as a kid but didn't get too deep for this video. That totally makes more sense. Maybe we'll break out the Real Ghostbusters DVD set and do a vid on that too someday. Thanks for watching and for the info. More Ghostbusters coming soon...
We saw that in fact in the cartoon where several episodes were on experiments with Slimer who was cuter with the voice. Time Square does become "slime square" in it.
The ghosts in "THE FRIGHTENERs" are also good not too fancy or over done.
I still need to see that film! I think the other guys have seen that one but I (Nathan) haven't yet. I watched some clips, it does look intriguing.
Slimmer a.k.a. Onion Head looks like the lawyer from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas book. John Bulishi almost played the lawyer in Where the Buffalo Roam along side Dan Akroyd as Hunter S. Thompson.
Slimmer! Freudian slip?
Have you watched the new ghost Buster's frozen empire it's really good
We have! I've seen it twice now. We did a video on that also.
Cheesy?

Lol it is not a joke
Too much CGI not enough practical we need balance.
