When I heard the casting choices for this movie, as soon as I heard Melissa McCarthy I was like "Oh ok this movie is gonna be 75% fat girl slapstick." And sure enough. 😂
It definitely telegraphed that a different style of comedy was coming! I think it would have been better for them to stick with the dry witty comedy style of the originals. I think that departure in style really started them down the wrong path from the original in terms of reaching fans of the originals
