Thank you, Jeanette! Great video and lesson. I ordered some from Amazon and it's supposed to arrive today. I never heard of it before you started mentioning it in your videos. It surely does make sense to use it.
Hi Janice. Yes, this really does make a difference!
Hola Boricua!!!! I'm so glad to find your channel!!! And you also speak so clearly that for people like me whose main language is not English (I am Boricua too :)) , I can follow you without any problem..... I am new to embroidery and last night I almost finished a project and then I started to think. that I should have put a stabilizer to give more body to the project. I would like to know if it is correct to put it in once the embroidery is done. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. God bless you!!!! I have learned a lot
You can add cloud cover to cover up the stitches but that won’t give it support. If a design is very dense I usually use more than one sheet of stabilizer. Glad you are enjoying the channel!
Good information. You always share very helpful tips!
Thanks for watching!
Great video. Very helpful and answered the question I had today. Thanks, Jeanette.
Glad it was helpful and that you enjoyed the video!

@@BoricuaSewingCrafts I need to read the book
thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Hi!! Do you know where can I buy this backing cover?
I’m new in this business
Your channel is awesome!!
Hi Jader ! I order them from Amazon. For the white one I use Tender Touch from Sulky. You can do a search for embroidery backing on Amazon. You can buy it in black too. Glad you like my channel!!! I will keep the videos coming!
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts thank you!!!
hello, I'm having good luck on many onesies for my great grandson and bad luck on the Tender Touch from Sulky. I use the sticky peel away stabilizer. After ironing on a pre-washing the tender touch keeps coming loose if not falling off all together in the pre-finished washing. I've tried all kinds of temperatures, even bought the new Panasonic cordless iron..which by the way I love.
Please, please help me with this tender touch. I have to send off about 10 onesies I've made real soon, before he grows out of them ;)
Hi Sylviah. I use 325 degrees and 30 seconds on my heat press when I apply the tender touch to my products.
Hi Janette, can you tell me the name of that backing you use on your shirts please. Thank you.
I use cutaway for shirts.
Can I use thinnest fusing for covering the back of the embroidery
Awesome!
Hi, I went thru your list but for some reason can't find the product, do you have a direct link to the item for purchase (backing) ?
It's under the stabilizers section. But here are the links to the backing I use: amzn.to/3Lrv1bn
What’s the product name of the backing you used on the back of the sweatshirt? And could that be used on the inside of a Jean jacket that’s bens embroidered?
Hi Carmen. I have the back topping in the Amazon Storefront. The link is provided in the video description.
what soft backing are you using in this video?
Hi I updated the video description and added the links to the products.
thanks for this advice. What is the difference between cover up "material" and backing?
Hi Jessica. I never heard of cover up "material". I use Tender Touch and Cloud cover to put on top of the back of the embroidery. I iron this on using a heat press. They both are the same thing, it's just different brands.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts ok thank you.
Jeanette,
What needles do you use on you SE1900. My SE1900 is on its way and I have no idea what needles to buy, probably a mix of Sewing and Embroidery needles??
Hi Jim. I always use Organ Needles. Ball Point size 75/11. Make sure you get the ones with the flat shank. I also recommend that you get pre-wound bobbins. They are really good.
So on a design like your sweater.. you leave the backing on alot of the design.. does that prevent it from scrunched up look? Provides more support?
Hi Beautiful! Yes. The cut away stabilizer provides support for the embroidery. You don't want to remove it. Just cut around it.
Hi, thank you for this video. I appreciate your explanation. I'm having a hard time with puckering. I hoop my fabric with iron-on interfacing and a stabilizer. Do you recommend a cut-away verses a tearaway? Do you hoop your stabilizer or do you float it? After I'm done embroidering and have removed the cut-away or tear-away, then I apply Cover the Back to the back of my fabric. I still have puckering. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I would love for my embroidery to look like the black t-shirt you made. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you
Hi Julie. When embroidering clothes you should always use cut away stabilizer. I always hoop the stabilizer and then float the item. Sometimes you will get puckering if the design is very dense and the fabric is thin. In this case I double up on the stabilizer and I also slow down the speed of the machine as well.
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts Hi, thank you so much for your quick response. I should have been clearer. I embroidered some words on a flour-sack towel. First I washed and then ironed the towel. I ironed Shape-Flex interfacing to the back of the towel. Then I hooped the towel with Wash-n-Gone Stabilizer and floated a tear-away stabilizer. After I wash the towel, I’m concerned the puckering will be worse. Do you have any suggestions? Did I use the right materials? I really appreciate your help. Thank you.
Would this type of backing be good for hand embroidery? Thanks!
Hi Juliana. Yes. This would work for hand embroidery as well.
Do you have to sew the backing on? If so how do you keep it from being seen on the front of the shirt?
Hi Kayla. No you don't sew the backing on. It's iron on.
What machine are you using?
Hi Madeline. I use the Brother SE1900 and also the Brother PR670e.
Hi, What is the name of the backing after you put the stabilizer?
Where did you buy that cover up adhesive?
It's list in the video description.
Thank you
What is the stuff that you use in the inside what is it called
Embroidery Backing. You can use Tender Touch or Cloud Cover.
Those machine costs a fortune 😔
Yes agree. They are pricey.
