- Update on the Raffle FZ1. We are so dang close to wrapping up this project. I've been working away on both the Supercharged Fz1 and the Turbo Fz1. Had a mishap with a lot of video where there was no audio so with this video update I just did the best I could with what I had. Not my best work. Enjoy.

I always liked the blue the best.. but this actually looks just as good. Looking good and really well built. 👍
Thanks man. I'm ready for someone else to enjoy it

Awesome videos! I really hope I win the raffle for my FZ!!!
Thanks. I wish every one the best of luck
The struggle is real.
Nice bro keep it up
I got to keep them up especially the turbo videos. holds me accountable to get the bike ready for track season. gonna try to keep up with you
@@rhetericalpha nice man! Can’t wait to see your content. You are very knowledgeable bro
@@Animusborn man you're too nice haha. I only know what know because Google
Sup, I have got an fz1 with code 14 and 22. Still rebuilding and don’t have the airbox + installed. I switched the key on and no response from start button. Does not having the airbox sensor plug prevent from starting?
Ok so I did some looking at the service manual and code 14 is Intake Air Pressure. It also says you are able to start the motorcycle and ride without it connected.
Error code 22 is Intake Air Temperature sensor and it says you are able to start and operate the motorcycle with this disconnected. So the no start condition is not due to these codes.
I guess I should ask what were you rebuilding/repairing?
Do you have the ignition kill button on the right setting. When switching it did you hear the fuel pump?
Does it crank over at all?
Do you have it in gear? And is the kick stand down?
Is there anymore codes?
@@rhetericalpha plugged in the air box sensor and code 22 is cleared. Still getting code 14 but I can’t find where the air pressure sensor would be/connect.
Also I’m still diagnosing, I can’t find neutral, I believe that’s why the bike won’t crank.
@@jettran4465 the intake pressure sensor is located behind the airbox on the right side. It is mounted on the fuel rail.
Your neutral safety switch probably popped or went bad. Is this a wrecked motorcycle? It is located on the back of the engine right in front of the shock
@@rhetericalpha Hey, so background is that this is my second yamaha fz1 bike. and i don't believe it was wrecked but I do believe it was disassembled for the frame crack repair. I got ownership with the the bike in a skeletons state. I used my good bike as a blueprint to reassemble it.
back to diagnosing: when I switch the key on, i get a check engine light and code 14. I went through the service manual "self diagnostic mode" pages 8-38 to 8-50. everything checked out fine. My shifter only goes down and up 2 (so that's not normal). I can't get it to shift into neutral. I would try to free up the transmission by rolling the bike but I don't have a front sprocket on at the moment.
which brings up my next question: how is a front sprocket mounted? is it just a bolt or is there a concave washer?
Where did you get the cover that goes in where the windscreen is located? I like it!
That is from Copperdawg. This one is a ss1. They have another called the SS2 that you can see through the wind screen
@@rhetericalpha thank you Sir! Love it!
You're welcome Chuck. And they do amazing at color matching the OEM paint
How difficult is it to replace the rear shock on the 2008 FZ1 with a 2015 R1 shocks?
with that year of shock I'm not sure. but there is an adapter you can buy that is machined very well and it fits earlier R1 shocks. takes all but of 20 minutes to install. i have a video where i do that to this raffle bike
@@rhetericalpha 1. Use of center stand ok? 2. Yoshimura pipe is too loud, what is low expense alternative to repacking the pipe? I don't have a rivet gun. 3. what is a good replacement to the bulky footpegs? Thanks.
@@rhetericalpha Kindly provide the link, where you exchange the rear shock. Thanks.
Awesome! You are back! What's the link to the Facebook page?? Two Brothers make an awesome sounding pipe!! I know first hand! Hahahaha!
they really do. I threw the exhaust on mine just to hear it for a bit. here is the link nothing is running yet.

I assume there will be a way to buy tickets if you don't do facebook?
right now I think Facebook page and a Paypal account will be the easiest as everything else will cost a good amount of money to do.

@@rhetericalpha Paypal part is fine - as long as you don't have to post anything on facebook to get entered. Many of the "experienced" folks who own FZ1's don't have facebook accounts.
@@oldjeep for the free exhaust raffle Facebook is showing accountability. For the bike raffle the PayPal payment will be good enough as entry. I'll still have a post on the Facebook page to show who has entered and what their number is.
@@rhetericalpha Sounds good. Don't care about the free stuff, especially since I currently have a Gen 1. Just interested in the bike raffle
New fone who dis
