@unger82 The good thing about Classic country is that anyone with a southern drawl can make it sound good, and as a GA boy msyelf I like Luke's music, but no one will ever hold a candle to Conway Twitty. There aren't too many singers, especially country singers, that can put the emotion and feeling into a song the way Conway did.
I dont think the goal of covering a song is to do it better than the original, the goal is just to sing a song you enjoy. We all know that nobody can beat Conway, but that doesn't mean that someone else can't or isn't allowed to sing it. That would take the freedom out of music.
