Dh took 5yrs to prove I wasn't as damaged or had too much baggage that sent other men running b/c I grabbed my sibling & got legal custody while I was a teen leaving a domestic violent home behind. He broke all my defenses; showed me I was damaged; & even managed to get thru to me that taking my sibling & making the sacrifices I made was gutsy & the most caring thing he could imagine.
