I was 17 years old when the real performance happened. I was at work in a restaurant and we had a small black and white TV back in the kitchen. As soon as she started singing, every single employee and patron in that restaurant stood and you could've heard a pin drop. Her voice was so powerful it rang out from that small TV and a busy restaurant came to a halt. I still tear up when I think about how that lady paused the Earth's rotation just for a moment with that performance.

I was far from patriotic at that age but it gave me chills and tears ran down my face. I also recorded it and watched it over and over again back then and got emotional every time.

This is giving "made for tv" vibes. It's an iconic moment that should give you chills but it really doesn't, not for me anyway. I was hoping it would have the same power that the Wembley Stadium performance did in Bohemian Rhapsody. Obviously, playing someone as complicated and incredibly talented as Whitney can't be easy so I'll watch & hope that the movie as a whole, does her justice.🤷‍♀️
